  1. What the crap was that? I need to clean my glasses, and I could tell that ball was at least a few inches outside.... BOOOOOO.
  2. This ump's strike zone is bewildering me.
  3. Parra is the sole logical option to bump up. IMO, he was going to be bumped up after the midseason minor league break regardless, and now it is almost a foregone conclusion. Parra has been dominating left handers this year... I really think he and Thatcher could play a big role in the bullpen come September.
  4. can you elaborate? Look at yesterday's Link Report. There was some discussion on Crabbe's value as a utility player.
  5. The Brewers haven't started out many guys in WV directly after being drafted because they haven't drafted many guys like Matt LaPorta. I have little doubt that he'll be in Charleston in a few days. As for a corresponding move, Lefave to Brevard is a no-brainer.
  6. Congrats to the Manatees! Now we just need the Stars to get in for the only first-half championship trifecta I can remember for the organization. And Callix Crabbe playing CF today, as if on queue.
  7. Not sure how you can be a utility guy when folks have a hard time remembering if you've ever played an inning of defense anywhere but at second base at any time in the organization -- similar to Iribarren, it's second base or bust for Callix. I believe Crabbe has had limited time at SS in years past, and he has played the outfield in multiple games this year, mostly CF and RF. If he can play CF adequately, he has a chance as a backup.
  8. We already have as many hits for this game as we did for the last game! Yah!
  9. WV scored the first 17 runs. Hickory battled back with the next 8 runs. Now WV is back on a roll, scoring the past 4 to go up a cool 21-8 through seven complete. Man, is Hickory getting smoked or what?
  10. Have to imagine Merklinger, Fryer and Fonseca are also among the signees, but we won't know for a bit.
  11. Sil, even in a coma If I had any gripe with the ending, that's what it was. I can handle people dying or people being left alive and in possible danger, but leaving a guy in a coma? That's kind of weak. I understand how it fits in with the non-ending ending, however Sil deserved a better ending (any ending) than that IMO.
  12. Let me say, that was a perfect choice for the song in the background in the final scene, whether you liked it or not.
  13. I really, really like Big Love... I'm amped for the season opener tomorrow. And I was disappointed by John From Cincinnati - the writing was basically like Deadwood got transplanted into modern-day California. I found it annoying, but I might give it one more episode, because the premise is interesting.
  14. The Kevin Finnerty stuff continues to make zero sense I think the Finnerty thing was a stand-alone element. It was a metaphor for Tony's loss of identity, or something else. It didn't really even occur to me that they'd bring it back up... it was like any other of the extended dream sequences they had. those mistakes Bobby made in his first hit earlier in the season that they were so sure to point out to us? Totally forgotten. Maybe not... to me, those mistakes just pointed to the "innocent" nature of Bobby's character, which were much more prevalent earlier in the series. It made his death all the more horrible.
  15. I liked the ending.
  16. 1.) Does Tony die? Yes 2.) Does Phil die? No 3.) Does Tony take down Phil with help from the FBI? No 4.) Does someone from Tony's crew betray him? Yes 5.) Does someone from Tony's family (wife+kids) die? No 6.) Does Tony get relocated via FBI? No 7.) Does Tony remain a boss in NJ? No 8.) Does someone from Tony's family betray him (wife, sister, kids)? No 9.) Does Tony end up arrested? No 10.) Does Paulie die? Yes
  17. Glad I came in at the end of this one. Woot.
  18. This is bad enough where I'm actually going to quit watching and do some home remodeling. Cutting boards sounds more appealing than watching the Brewers play.
  19. Estrada walked???? OMG! And then nothing.
  20. Is Capuano not going to be given the inner quarter of the plate against righties? Some of those ball calls were ludicrous.
  21. Capuano is getting absolutely squeezed here.
  22. Mr. Rapuano, if you call those outside pitches for the Rangers' pitcher, you have to call them for Cappy. 1 or 2 of those pitches to Kinsler were strikes.
