  1. RHPs Freisis Adames and Victor Castaneda, C Luis Avalo, and OF Anderson Melendez have been transferred from the DSL roster to the AZL Brewers roster, likely signaling that they'll be playing stateside this year. All four were in Maryvale during spring training. The DSL season begins in about 3 weeks.
  2. The Indians' Justin Garza on 5/11/17.

  4. Correct, but the person said Orf didn't hit until Colorado Springs. That's what I was responding to. So I had the correct context, which was that he hit. QED.
  5. He's been an above- to well-above- average hitter every year except for 2016, when he was about average for his league(s). Whether you want to look at wRC+: https://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=sa579765&position=2B Or WARP: https://legacy.baseballprospectus.com/card/103573/nathan-orf (5.2 WARP in 2015!)
  6. The Brewers will avoid placing Dubon on the 60-day if they can. He would earn a major league paycheck and accrue service time if he's placed on the 60-day. He doesn't if he's on the minor league 7-day DL for the rest of the year.

  9. Final: Lansing 11, Wisconsin 4 Lugnuts Pounce Early to Beat Wisconsin Rattlers Winning Streak Ends at Five Games By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers *** Wisconsin Box Score Wisconsin Game Log
  10. RHP Cody Ponce activated this morning for Biloxi. The Shuckers were playing a man short so no additional roster move was needed.
  11. That sure does not look like Nate Orf. Unless he's changed haircuts and grown about 6 inches. Edit: It's Dan Jennings.
  12. To his credit, Hernan Iribarren is still plugging away, now in his 5th year with Cincinnati's AAA team. He's a career .299 hitter in the minor leagues, and even has a .264 mark in limited big league exposure.
  13. Final: Wisconsin 6, Lansing 5 Rattlers Rally for 6-5 Walkoff Win over Lansing Wisconsin wins fifth straight game By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers *** Wisconsin Box Score Wisconsin's team batting average has risen more than 40 points over the past few weeks, all the way up to .257 now. Which is actually good for 5th best in the league. They still have the fifth-fewest walks and the most strikeouts, but hey, progress. With two caught stealings today, Payton Henry has thrown out 11 of 28 baserunners, also known as a very solid 39%. I think it's safe to say he's been a pleasant surprise defensively. He also had two hits, including his third long ball, hence his picture at the top of the post there. Demi Orimoloye pushed his average above .300 with two hits of his own; the third Rattler with two hits, Nick Roscetti, is now hitting .370 and is someone who should probably be moved up to Carolina soon. The 24-year-old also scored on an unorthodox walk-off - see below. Jose Cuas, pitching in his second professional game and first since becoming a father, picked up his first professional win with a scoreless inning and a third to finish out the game. Wisconsin Game Log Wisconsin Bottom of the 9th Nick Roscetti singles on a line drive to left fielder Brock Lundquist. With Joantgel Segovia batting, passed ball by Matt Morgan, Nick Roscetti to 2nd. Joantgel Segovia hits a sacrifice bunt. Nick Roscetti scores. Joantgel Segovia to 1st. Throwing error by pitcher Ty Tice.
  14. Final: Wisconsin 3, Fort Wayne 2 Rattlers Complete the Sweep in Fort Wayne Wisconsin hangs on for a 3-2 win over the TinCaps to finish a 5-1 road trip to the Eastern Division By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers *** Wisconsin Box Score Wisconsin Game Log
  15. Final: Wisconsin 8, Fort Wayne 4 Rattlers Win Third Straight by Beating Fort Wayne Wisconsin rallies from early 3-0 deficit for 8-4 win By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers *** Wisconsin Box Score Wisconsin Game Log
  16. Turns out Matt Hardy was actually placed on Wisconsin's 7-day DL, not transferred to Helena as originally reported. Undisclosed injury.
  17. Final: Wisconsin 11, Lake County 7 (11 innings) Rattlers Sink Captains in Eleven Innings Wisconsin scores an 11-7 win with five runs in the eleventh By Chris Mehring / Wisconsin Timber Rattlers *** Wisconsin Box Score When you look at the box score, remember that under new extra inning rules, a runner begins the inning at second base, and if that runner scores, the run is unearned for the pitcher. Joantgel Segovia, back in the lineup for the first time since getting hit in the noggin on April 29th, made up for lost time with three hits, each of them doubles. Segovia has a miniscule career ISO - it was .034 at Wisconsin last year - so it's nice to see the extra bases piling up a bit. He'll never be a big home run threat but he needs those gappers in his toolbox. Gilbert Lara pushed his hit streak to 7 games with a 2-5 night, including his 3rd long ball of the year. It's been 12 games since he's walked so his early successes with plate discipline have tapered off, but he's still hitting .295 and has an OPS of 799. We'll take it. Wisconsin Game Log Extra innings palooza: Wisconsin Top of the 10th Pitching Change: Tommy DeJuneas replaces Kyle Nelson. Jay Feliciano starts inning at 2nd base. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-runner Zach Clark replaces Jay Feliciano. Payton Henry grounds out, pitcher Tommy DeJuneas to first baseman Jose Vicente. Zach Clark to 3rd. Nick Roscetti reaches on a fielder's choice, fielded by shortstop Ernie Clement. Zach Clark scores. Joantgel Segovia doubles (6) on a line drive to right fielder Oscar Gonzalez. Nick Roscetti scores. With Devin Hairston batting, wild pitch by Tommy DeJuneas, Joantgel Segovia to 3rd. Devin Hairston walks. Tristen Lutz grounds into a double play, shortstop Ernie Clement to second baseman Tyler Friis to first baseman Jose Vicente. Devin Hairston out at 2nd. Lake County Bottom of the 10th Zach Clark remains in the game as the designated hitter. Oscar Gonzalez starts inning at 2nd base. Jonathan Laureano reaches on a fielding error by second baseman Nick Roscetti. Oscar Gonzalez scores. Tyler Friis triples (1) on a fly ball to center fielder Joantgel Segovia. Jonathan Laureano scores. Jose Vicente grounds out to first baseman KJ Harrison. Todd Isaacs strikes out swinging. Ernie Clement grounds out, third baseman Gilbert Lara to first baseman KJ Harrison. Austen Wade singles on a fly ball to right fielder Demi Orimoloye. Ernie Clement scores. With Nolan Jones batting, Austen Wade steals (4) 2nd base. Nolan Jones flies out to center fielder Joantgel Segovia. Oscar Gonzalez grounds out, shortstop Devin Hairston to first baseman KJ Harrison.
  18. The projection is what it is, but so far they are 22nd in VORP and 24th in fWAR and 22nd in runs scored/game. A strong "meh" at best.
  19. Dubon extends his hitting streak to 21 games with a first inning single.
  20. Williams has had all sorts of problems commanding his fastball. I wouldn't trust him late in games until he gets that ironed out. Which might as well be done in Colorado.
  21. Yah, besides that one horrific outing he's been lights out for the most part.
  22. 1)The Reds' offense, despite scoring some runs the previous two games, is not too good. 2)It's one start. 3)Miley has shown himself to be a perfectly capable #4/#5 type starter over the course of his career. No reason to think that's changed.
