  1. Thanks for all the years of hard work. Your input will be missed. The Power 50 has always been my favourite part of the site.
  2. He will become a bitter old man when no one offers him what he feels is fair. No one will sign him unless he is willing to play for a fraction of what he's been making. I think we will see some collusion on this one.
  3. I seriously doubt they will trade Ianetta either. A decent pitching prospect is worth his weight in gold in today's game as this seems to be the hardest position to develop league wide.
  4. Being one of the most tradeable players in the game and being a name everyone knows the limit is whatever it takes. You play him for a few years and as soon as he starts to slightly decline you move him. His name is big enough someone will trade for him without having to eat salary. Especially if you don't ask for a lot in return.
  5. I wouldn't call it poor judgement. It shows he has competitive fire. He just needs to know when to take a number and do it the next game or next year.
  6. I got Mercedes and the pitching coach's. Hopefully Littell's actually fits and it was cheap.
  7. Release him. No mistake would be made. As for would I like it if it were me well it isn't and it never would have. I grew up playing high level hockey until I had to quit because of a bad back injury which kept me out for over a year. 3 of the guys on my 15 year old team made it to the NHL. Not once did I even think of using what was available and have never regretted it. I'm really getting sick and tired about hearing oh this poor kid didn't know what he was using it's a language thing. Blah, Blah, Blah. In the history of sport I doubt there is more than one or two that didn't know what they were doing and that's because they are just too stupid to understand it all. That would prevent them from making it to the show anyways. That's why even though I like him it's bothers me a little every time Turnbow succeeds.
  8. I would hope they just release him.
  9. We really need to draft a couple of fat guys next year so I can get myself a jersey.
  10. Anyone else having trouble getting signed in. It keeps telling me the password is wrong or the league isn't set up to draft yet.
  11. Well at least the year is almost over and we can start convincing ourselves Rogers has a future again. Not sure how the Brewers can be anything but disappointed in the year. On the bright side Yo has looked good.
  12. I sure hope Dennis is ok and if there is any question at all shut him down for the year. It's almost over anyways and missing the last few weeks or month if he was called up isn't going to hurt his chances of making the team next year.
  13. Stats are just a tool. They don't make or break a player. Stats should be used as a guideline only. They are just a small part of an overall player. An important part but just a part. The guy's mental makeup is another very important part. That's why stats aside I would be very disappointed if the Brewers got AJ Burnett. Not my idea of a mentally stable guy. Carlos Lee on the otherhand is a stud. I kind of wonder about Jenkins mental makeup. Maybe that's why he can never put it all together and become a star. He has the tools but is lacking something.
  14. I just laugh when I see guys saying RBI's are a team stat. I see where you get the idea as it's up to teammates to get on base but it is a very individual stat. RBI and BA are both very important stats but sometime's you just need to throw stats out the window. Regardless of who's on base when you come up to bat some guys have the ability to hit with runners in scoring positon and some can't. A lot of it is mental. Also one of the most important stats which has become forgotten for the most part is the ability to bunt or sacrifice a guy over.
  15. David Manning just signed with Winnipeg of the Northern League.
  16. Wow, just checked the scores and Nelson is hitting .857. I realize it's just his second game but how often due you get to say a guy is hitting .857?
  17. It's the same Ralph Santana. He is now a no hit, error making machine but he can still run.
  18. As a Canadian Brewer Fan i love it. There is a lot of talent up here. True Baseball is light years behind hockey in popularity and the likes of Koskie and Walker only got serious about it after their hockey careers ended. I describe a lot of the talent up here as raw. Not much scouting done though. B.C and Southern Ontario's climate aren't much different than Milwaukee and that is where most of the guys we are taking are from. Besides worse case scenario is some of our guys in the minors will get to experience real beer. As to signable. I here you guys are issuing more limited work visas which would allow some of these guys who sign quickly to play this year.
