  1. Here is the full list on Forbes website: http://www.forbes.com/mlb-valuations/
  2. Quite like today's weather. Its unbelievably nice out compared to what we've suffered through lately.
  3. The Marlins are selling opening day tickets for half price on Groupon. Things are getting desperate in Florida...http://www.groupon.com/deals/gl-miami-marlins-1-6?utm_medium=afl&utm_campaign=3640929&utm_source=rvs
  4. I would add a salary floor but remain without a cap.
  5. Butler/Marquette game is good. Happy to see Marquette come back after being down by 10. Edit: annd Marquette wins. What a game.
  6. Try calling Charter and threaten to cancel. If they are like Time Warner Cable, they will give you a decent discount to keep you as a customer. When I called Time Warner Cable, they slashed our bill by a third.
  7. I get scared every time I see this thread bumped.
  8. If you want an alternative to Sim City, check out Tropicio 4. It's on sale on steam too: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/19282/ It's like Sim City in alot of ways. You basically play Fidel Castro and control and island and must build on it and make sure the residents dont overthrow you.
  9. So I read the storm is drifting south which means less snow. Looks like Milwaukee is expected with 3-6 inches of snow now.
  10. Agreed, I haven't watched the Office that much this season but from the few episodes I saw, the season has not seemed that great.
  11. This has definitely not been the winter of last year. Lots of snow in the past month. I'm ready for spring.
  12. This storm caught me by surprise. I was expecting snow but not THIS much of snow. I think Milwaukee got around 6 inches and its still falling.
  13. This storm could not have started at a worst possible time.
  14. So whats the word for snow?
  15. So far we've gotten around 5 inches or so not including the stuff falling on the ground now.
  16. I guess they haven't been paid in 5 years.
  17. Looks like $11,600 in property taxes.
  18. Got a notice that the county is going to start the foreclosure process for unpaid property taxes. I spoke to a lawyer at UWM but he did not know anything about probate so I have to talk to a probate lawyer for a half hour still.
  19. Where's summer on that list? :P
  20. A Realtor visited the house the other day just so I can get a better idea of what the house is worth (and not the bogus 80K the gov't says). She said in the current condition it would fetch about $20,000. I was shocked as I thought it could be in the low 30's originally. The price could probably go up to around $35,000 with improvements (that we have no $ to do of course).
  21. I can get student loans to help offset utilities but that's about it. We already do get food stamps.
  22. The funeral came and went. It was a good funeral. Seeing my dad in a casket was a bit disturbing I must admit. Glad we went with the funeral home we went with. I'm getting over the death but I do still seem to look at photos of my dad everyday. We got around $900 from donations with a bit more coming in every so often or so. That'll definitely help. Beyond that not much has changed on the financial front. Edit: Got the bill for the mortgage. I was wrong on the amount owed still. It's not $6,000. Its $4300. It would be scheduled to be payed off by August with $602 due ea. month.
  23. We asked the funeral director yesterday if we could pay within a month and they said they used to do that but have since stopped. I have not found a will but it would be pretty pointless would it not? I'll be the personal representative or executor either way since I'm the only child and he was never married.
  24. The funeral home wants to be paid by Friday. They don't really offer any leeway. I don't really have a job (I do some paid work for the planetarium on campus but that's maybe $2,000 a year). I'm also clueless on utilities as they like to be paid nowish. If you quit paying them for even 2 months they cut you off. I'm trying to achieve the ability to live in a house until I get a real job after I graduate, after which I would move out and live on my own. Trying to live in a house with a $2,000/year income when people are going to demand there money is a painful thing. I feel like I'm running into a wall and there's no easy way around it.
  25. The house was scheduled to be payed off this year. There is only like $6000 left on it. I think his main debts are the funeral ($4600), the $ owed on the house ($6000), and the credit card ($3200). It's probably around $12,000 or so.
