  1. Woodruff looking good again. Let's hope he can get some regular PT down the stretch. His ability to go more than one inning is nice.
  2. This is probably what he needs to do. When people pull out the stats, there's his name on top. That will grab the attention of people who haven't noticed him. Baez plays a premium defensive position, which is good for him. But how much people pay attention to that is debatable. However, I think Baez has a flair that has drawn a lot of attention to him - and that (along with playing in a major market) will help. His lack of walks will hurt him. I honestly don't see an issue with any of those guys being MVP if the race was held today. Yelich, Baez, Goldy - all really good players. Of course, I want our guy. Again, if someone puts Baez's numbers against Yelich, the BA and OBP will really stand out in Yelich's favor. Of course, the RBIs for Baez will help him - so I don't know if it really matters. Shrug. All good players. Hope our guy can keep hitting and lead us to the playoffs to make it a no brainer.
  3. Harrison hit .240 and 19 HRs at AA. Struck out 215 times, however. Still a ton of talent, but lots of swing and miss. Diaz was pretty much the same as 2017. .230ish batting average, around 15 HR, but 140K. Again, he has talent, shows some power and patience - but big swing and miss tendencies. Was at AA. Jordan Yamamoto did quite well when he wasn't injured. He had a sub 2.00 ERA in around 70 innings between A and AA. But again, he had some injury issues.
  4. Jackson 3, Biloxi 2 After coming back to tie the game 2-2, Biloxi gave up a run in the top of the 9th to lose 3-2 against the Jackson Generals. Biloxi loses the series 3-1. Congrats to the Shuckers on a good year, but the ending is disappointing as they lose three straight to wrap the season. 5. Biloxi loses 12-7. Do or die time for the Shuckers. They are done 2-1 in a five game series. Game 4 is Saturday in Biloxi.
  6. Thomas Jankins takes the mound for Biloxi, while Justin Donatella goes for the Jackson Generals.

  8. Dodgers doing everything can to lose this game. Two walks, error. It should be over but it's 9-7. Edit: game just ended. Cardinals had the winning run at the plate, but couldn't do it. Excellent.
  9. The Mets' David Wright will be activated and play in one final game on September 29. Wright, who is 35, hasn't played in the Majors since May 27, 2016. He said that with all the injuries and surgeries he doesn't think he can play anymore. A .296 career hitter, Wright had a chance to be a hall-of-famer until injuries derailed his career. Nice that he can make one final appearance before the home fans. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/24664434/mets-david-wright-activated-start-one-more-game-teams-final-homestand
  10. Great win. Taking 2 of 3 on the road against ANY team is a huge plus. To do it against the Cubs is even better. Just keep winning. That's the mantra. Just keep winning.
  11. Final: Jackson 7, Biloxi 3 Jackson Charges Back Against Biloxi to Even Championship Series Series Moves Back To Biloxi For Friday's Game Three By Garrett Greene / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Despite a promising start (three runs in the 1st inning), Biloxi lost on Wednesday 7-3 in game 2 of the Southern League Championship Series. The vaulted pitching matchup between Zack Brown and Jon Duplantier was a dud. Duplantier walked five batters and gave up three runs in less than an inning's work. Brown was chased in the 3rd inning after giving up five runs - a deficit that Biloxi could not come back from as Shucker bats managed just three hits and a walk over the final eight innings. Former Brewer Michael Blazek pitched two scoreless innings for the Generals. The championship series is tied 1-1. The series continues on Friday in Biloxi. Thomas Jankins will be pitching for the Shuckers. 12. Zack got rocked tonight. Five runs in 2.1 IP.
  13. Zack Brown goes for Biloxi. Jackson will start Jon Duplantier, who is very good as well.

  15. By the way, 'Squirrels in the attic' sounds like a euphemism for someone going a little crazy in the head
  16. Could be raccoons as well. They are clever things. I've not personally dealt with animal control, but I have had friends who have had to. And it's best to do it now. Raccoons, for instance, can really rip up stuff. And the longer you wait, the more damage they can do. It sucks, but best get it taken care of.
  17. Best of 5. Two games in Jackson, then the final three (as needed) in Biloxi.
  18. Final: Biloxi 7, Jackson 0 Biloxi Blitzes Jackson in 7-0 Victory to Claim Game One of Championship Series Webb Takes No-Hitter To Seventh, Shuckers Tag Widener For Five Runs/b] By Garrett Greene / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Biloxi kicked off the Southern League Championship Series with a 7-0 victory over Jackson. The Shuckers were lead by Braden Webb, who gave up only one hit in six innings - and took a no-hitter into the 7th. The Shucker staff gave up only two hits and three hits on the day. Meanwhile, Biloxi hitters rapped out nine hits for seven runs. Troy Stokes, Jr., Trent Grisham and Lucas Erceg each had two hits. Dillon Thomas, who was only signed last month and had played only at Carolina, had a pinch hit HR. Biloxi leads the championship series 1-0. Batting Troy Stokes Jr.: 2-5, 2B Trent Grisham: 2-5, 2B Lucas Erceg: 2-4 Dillon Thomas: 1-1, HR Pitching Braden Webb: 6.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER, 3BB, 7K, Win Jeff Ames: 1.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 2K Jon Olczak: 1.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 0K Miguel Sanchez: 1.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER, 3BB, 1K Biloxi Game Log Biloxi drew blood in the first inning. Troy Stokes Jr. to 3rd on the throw. With Trent Grisham batting, passed ball by Dom Miroglio, Troy Stokes Jr. scores. Trent Grisham doubles (1) on a sharp line drive to left fielder Evan Marzilli. Keston Hiura flies out sharply to right fielder Jay Gonzalez. Trent Grisham to 3rd. Lucas Erceg lines out to second baseman Domingo Leyba. Blake Allemand walks. Weston Wilson called out on strikes.
  19. Braden Webb will be on the mound for Biloxi. The team has not played since Saturday, so they will be well rested.

  21. Correct. Playoff stats don't count for regular season stats.
  22. Final: Biloxi 9, Pensacola 1 Hiura And Diplan Catapult Shuckers To The Southern League Championship Series Brewers #1 Prospect Racks up 6 RBI, Diplan Fans Nine over Six Strong By Spencer Siegel / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Biloxi is heading to the Southern League Championship Series thanks to a dominating pitching performance by Marcos Diplan and some loaded bats, in particular Keston Hiura, who drove in six runs with an HR and a double. Diplan was outstanding, giving up only one hit, two walks and one run. He struck out 10 to snag the win. Cody Ponce and Brad Kuntz would finish out the game without giving up any runs. Biloxi had quite a few hitting stars, but Hiura's six RBI (on two hits, including an HR) was the highlight. Trent Grisham had three hits, while Weston Wilson and Troy Stokes, Jr. each had two hits. The Shuckers will begin the Championship Series on Tuesday night, September 11. That will give them a couple of days rest. They will face either Montgomery or Jackson for the league title. Batting Troy Stokes Jr.: 2-3, BB, 2 SB Trent Grisham: 3-4, BB, SB Keston Hiura: 2-4, 2B, HR, 6 RBI Weston Wilson: 2-4 Pitching Marcos Diplan: 6.0 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 2BB, 10K, Win Cody Ponce: 2.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER, 0BB, 2K Brad Kuntz: 1.0 Ip, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 2K Biloxi Game Log Lots of highlights - but here is the three-run 1st inning.
