  1. Final: Mississippi 3, Biloxi 0 M-Braves Snap Shuckers Streak With 3-0 Shutout Jankins Turns In Quality Start For Shuckers By Spencer Siegel / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score The Shuckers were shutout of Friday night, leaving nine men on base and going 0-9 with runners in scoring position. Biloxi hurlers Thomas Jankins and Nattino Diplan actually pitched pretty well, giving up only six hits and a walk. Unfortunately, Mississippi got three of those hits in one inning - resulting in a pair of runs. Batting Keston Hiura: 1-3, 2B, BB Weston Wilson: 1-3, BB Pitching Thomas Jankins: 6.0 IP, 6 hits, 3 ER, 0BB, 6K, Lose Nattino Diplan: 2.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 2K Notes Blake Allemand has a 14-game on base streak. Biloxi Game Log Nothing exciting to see here.
  2. I will add that people can PM a mod if someone is being problematic. Not every poster does something really bad that forces someone to report them - but sometimes it's a combination of many smaller things that makes them an issue. I would encourage people to drop one of the Mods a note. That way we can keep an eye on things.

  4. Harvey wasn't dealt, so I'm locking this thread.
  5. This is the kind of thing that can have a bunch of answers to why it didn't go down. The Reds might have wanted more than we offered. Or maybe the Reds want to keep Harvey beyond 2018, and thought having him around the last few weeks was advantageous. Harvey may have even said he prefers to finish out the season with Cincy. Who knows. Time to move on, which is fine.
  6. Brewers just need to say to Cincy, "Hey, by giving him to us for nothing, it may help us defeat the Cardinals." I'm guessing they nod and smile and hand him over at that point.
  7. I would take him. It gives you depth down the stretch, and it allows you to keep struggling starters out of the lineup if needed. Anderson, Chacin, Peralta, Miley, Guerra. It's not scaring a lot of people, but it's solid. Peralta has been erratic, and while Miley has been good, I hold my breath waiting for him to revert to his old form. If someone was injured, the next guy up is Davies and (probably) Woodruff. I'm comfortable with those guys, but it's hard to count on either right now. You could go six starters down the stretch - or give Peralta some rest if you are interested in holding his innings in check. I think he would add some depth and flexibility to the rotation. But it's important that we are not giving up anything good for the guy, and if we can't agree on something reasonable, then forget it. He isn't worth it.
  8. As a note to all users - if your post gets you the dreaded **** - you know you've activated the curse filter. Please edit your post to something more appropriate. And please don't try and figure out clever ways to get around the curse filter. It may seem trivial, but those are the rules. We are simply asking people to adhere to them. We don't want to delete entire posts just because someone has to put a curse word in a text. Thanks.
  9. Final: Biloxi 3, Pensacola 2 Biloxi Breaks Out The Brooms In 3-2 Win To Sweep Pensacola Ponce Collects First Hit To Spark Shuckers Rally By Garrett Greene / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Biloxi scratched out three runs on Thursday - just enough to defeat Pensacola 3-2. Shucker pitchers combined to hold the Blue Wahoos to six hits - although they did walk five batters. They were aided by a pair of double plays. Shucker batters were pretty tame (just six hits and a walk), but they clustered a lot of their damage in one inning, getting three hits and a walk in the 6th inning (they were aided by a hit batsman and a wild pitch). Batting Tory Stokes Jr.: 1-3, BB Luis Aviles Jr.: 1-3, 2B Keston Hiura: 1-4 Lucas Erceg: 1-4 Weston Wilson: 1-3 Pitching Cameron Roegner: 3.0 IP, 4 hits, 1 ER, 0BB, 3K Cody Ponce: 3.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 2K, Win Jon Olczak: 1.2 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 1BB, 1K Brad Kuntz: 0.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 0K Nate Griep: 1.1 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER, 2BB, 1K, Save Notes Cody Ponce got his first ever hit as a pro on Thursday - a double that helped spark a Shucker run that netted the team two runs and the lead. Biloxi Game Log Cody Ponce lead off our big inning with a double. Shuckers took the lead and never relinquished it. Biloxi Bottom of the 6th Max McDowell strikes out swinging. Cody Ponce doubles (1) on a line drive to center fielder Jose Siri. Corey Ray flies out to left fielder TJ Friedl Jr. Troy Stokes Jr. walks. Lucas Erceg to 2nd. Pitching Change: Robinson Leyer replaces Wyatt Strahan, batting 9th. Weston Wilson called out on strikes.
  10. If the Dodgers are 5 games back, they should still go for it. Yeah it's not likely, but they have a lot of talent. If some things click, all it takes is a good run to get right back in it. Again, too much talent to bail, imo.
  11. We have had vent threads in the past - and they have gotten really, really ugly. It's one thing to vent - but what happens is people start going at each other. And then that venom and animosity seeps into other threads - often times without people realizing it.
  12. This is a huge issue - especially in the IGTs. There is no need for people to flood the thread with every complaint and every negative thought that they have. I mean, I'm seeing more and more people post negative stuff before it even happens - then are embolden when one of the ten stupid comments becomes reality. This kind of thing is an issue. And we are asking for people to dial it back. We realize that the IGTs are a place to vent a bit - but when the vast majority of the thread is that kind of stuff, it makes it worthless. And to top it off, that kind of behavior tends to spill over into other threads.
  13. Final: Biloxi 6, Pensacola 3 Davies Cooks Blue Wahoos Over Six Innings in Shuckers' Win Rehabber Fans Nine While Shuckers Reclaim First Place By Spencer Siegel / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Corey Ray and Troy Stokes, Jr. each slugged HRs to support the strong pitching of Zach Davies, who was making another rehab start for Biloxi. Davies went 6 innings, gave up only two hits and one run in the victory. He struck out nine while walking just one batter. Miguel Sanchez was very good over the final two innings, striking out four batters while giving up only one hit and no runs while earning the save. Shucker pitchers struck out 14 on the day. The Shuckers were aided by three errors by Pensacola. Batting Corey Ray: 1-4, HR Troy Stokes Jr.: 2-4, HR Blake Allemand: 2-4 Lucas Erceg: 1-3, BB Pitching Zach Davies: 6.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 1BB, 9K, Win Nattino Diplan: 1.0 IP, 2 hits, 2 ER, 0BB, 1K Miguel Sanchez: 2.0 IP, 1 hit, 0 ER, 1BB, 4K, Save Notes Right-hander Miguel Sanchez has quietly had a nice season. The 24-year old reliever has struck out 82 batters in 57.2 innings (the majority have come at AA). He has walked 19 batters and has a 2.81 ERA. Biloxi Game Log Three-run 3rd puts the Shuckers up 4-0. It was all Biloxi would need for the win. Biloxi Bottom of the 3rd Corey Ray homers (27) on a fly ball to right field. Troy Stokes Jr. reaches on a throwing error by shortstop Luis Gonzalez. Blake Allemand flies out to center fielder Jose Siri. Lucas Erceg singles on a line drive to right fielder Scott Schebler. Troy Stokes Jr. to 3rd. Weston Wilson reaches on a fielding error by third baseman Mitch Nay. Lucas Erceg scores. Tyler Heineman out at 3rd, left fielder TJ Friedl Jr.
  14. Ray just keeps hitting bombs. His 29% strikeout rate scares me, but it's nice to see the power.
  15. Thanks for the suggestion, Ennder. It doesn't mean you won't ever see some of those people's posts (due to the fact you can quote them), but it can save a lot of angst to just ignore the troublesome people in your life.
  16. Dear BF.net users, I am sorry to say that we have had a record number of complaints - and bans - over the past couple of months. In particular, the last few weeks have been troubling. Far too many threads are degenerating into flame wars, discussions hijacked, and a constant barrage of negativity. Sadly, we have also received too many messages from users letting us know that they are done with the site because of the increasingly toxic environment. One of the hallmarks of this space over the years has been to promote a civil and open discussion for Brewer fans. That fails when we are overwhelmed by trolls and childish behavior. Decency and common sense are being lost because we have a growing number of posters who: - Complain, complain and complain some more about whatever subjects (or other posters) are bothering them. - Attack other members, often times repeatedly, often times for the slightest reasons or offenses (real or perceived). And often times just because it has become habit. - Use sarcasm and snide comments to attack and belittle other posters. It's childish. It's offensive. It only makes people angry, and causes the discussion to go sideways. As noted, we have seen this behavior increase of late. And it's not just new people (a common perception), but many long time posters who are part of this problem. Be warned, we will continue the banning of offenders. We don't care if you've been a member for 15 years or 15 days - we are tired of the childish behavior. Here's some things people should consider going forward: - The most productive posts on the forum tend to be those that focus on sharing an idea, observation, or opinion that broaden or advance the discussion without directly attacking another individual’s post. - You don't have to get in the last word every time. Say your peace and move on. - Block posters you feel aren't worth your time. - Use sarcasm with care. And try and avoid it when criticizing someone or someone else's opinions. It just makes you look like a jerk, and can cause people to get into fights because they feel they have been insulted. - Want to complain? Go ahead, but move on when done. You don't have say the same stuff over and over. - Walk away for a spell if you have to. The world will not end if you think someone on the Internet is wrong. Give it a break. - Be adults. Be treated like you'd want to be treated. Again, we are going to keep banning people who cause problems. Typically, we will warn users, or give them a short ban if there is a problem. Repeated problems people will eventually be permanently banned. Please know that we don't take banning lightly. And we realize that not all situations are created equally. We discuss all disciplinary actions. We will generally err on the side of leniency, but know that our patience is running short with many posters. Feel free to PM any mod if you have any questions. Thank you. Your Moderators
  17. Coulter is a minor league FA in the off season (assuming we don't add him to the 40-man roster, which I don't believe is going to happen). I'm guessing he is gone. There really isn't any opportunity for him in our system. Too bad he didn't develop into a better hitter. Or have been able to catch.
  18. Final: Biloxi 2, Pensacola 1 Supak Six Scoreless, Two Early Homers Lift Shuckers over Blue Wahoos 2-1 Biloxi Now Sits Just a Half Game Back of First Place Pensacola By Spencer Siegel / Biloxi Shuckers RHP Trey Supak hurled six scoreless innings on Tuesday morning at MGM Park, helping the Shuckers to a 2-1 win over Pensacola (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Trey Supak threw six innings of shutout ball while Corey Ray and Trent Grisham homered to lead the Shuckers to a 2-1 victory over the Blue Wahoos of Pensacola. Supak was excellent on Tuesday afternoon, giving up only three hits while walking one and striking out six. His ERA has dropped to 3.38. A solo home run surrendered by Jeff Ames in the 7th was the staff's only blemish. Biloxi's offense was lacking, garnering only four hits and one walk. Thankfully, two of those hits were long balls. Batting Corey Ray: 1-4, HR Blake Allemand: 1-3 Trent Grisham: 1-3, HR Clint Coulter: 1-3, 2B Pitching Trey Supak: 6.0 IP, 3 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 6K, Win Jeff Ames: 1.0 IP, 2 hits, 1 ER, 1B, 0K Brad Kuntz: 0.1 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 1K Josh Uhen: 0.2 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 0K Nate Griep: 1.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 1BB, 0K, save Notes Ray has 26 HRs on the season, meaning he has a good shot at reaching 30 this year. Biloxi Game Log Leadoff HRs are nice. Thanks, Corey. Biloxi Bottom of the 1st Corey Ray homers (26) on a fly ball to right center field. Troy Stokes Jr. flies out to center fielder Jose Siri. Keston Hiura grounds out, first baseman Gavin LaValley to pitcher Tony Santillan. Lucas Erceg walks. Blake Allemand flies out to center fielder Jose Siri.

  20. He had a good night. Four innings, five hits, 1 ER, no walks and four strikeouts. I'm guessing they didn't want him out there too long after the injury.
  21. Final: Biloxi 6, Pensacola 5 Coulter's Eighth Inning Homer Seals Shuckers Comeback Ray Becomes Single-Season Shuckers RBI Leader In Win By Spencer Siegel / Biloxi Shuckers (Michael Krebs) Biloxi Box Score Down 5-2 heading into the 7th, Biloxi rallied for four runs, including three in the 8th, to secure a 6-5 come-from-behind victory. Zack Brown, coming back from a leg injury, pitched well, giving up only one run in four innings of work. Macros Diplan did not pitch so well, surrendering three runs in three innings. Diplan got the win due to the Shucker comeback. Nate Griep worked a perfect 9th inning (no hits, no walks, three strikeouts) for the save. The Shuckers offense was led by Blake Allemand (three hits), Clint Coulter (two hits) and Tyler Heineman (two hits), each of whom hit a home run. The Shuckers won despite three errors on the day, including two by Keston Hiura. Batting Tory Stokes Jr.: 1-3, 2B, BB Blake Allemand: 3-4, 2B, HR Trent Grisham: 0-2, 2BB Clint Coulter: 2-4, HR Tyler Heineman: 2-3, HR, BB Pitching Zack Brown: 4.0 IP, 5 hits, 1 ER, 0BB, 4K Cody Ponce: 1.0 IP, 1 hit, 1 ER, 0BB, 0K Marcos Diplan: 3.0 IP, 4 hits, 3 ER, 3BB, 2K, Win Nate Griep: 1.0 IP, 0 hits, 0 ER, 0BB, 3K, Save Notes Corey Ray has gone into another funk. His batting average has dropped 20 points (from .264 to .244) since July 27. Ray did drive in his 70th run of the season on a ground out. That set a franchise record. Biloxi Game Log Three-run shot by Coulter does the damage. Biloxi Bottom of the 8th Lucas Erceg flies out to center fielder Jose Siri. Blake Allemand doubles (12) on a fly ball to right fielder Narciso Crook. Trent Grisham walks. Clint Coulter homers (11) on a fly ball to left field. Blake Allemand scores. Trent Grisham scores. Tyler Heineman flies out to center fielder Jose Siri. Offensive Substitution: Pinch-hitter Gabriel Noriega replaces Marcos Diplan. Gabriel Noriega flies out to center fielder Jose Siri.
  22. Taylor has a .203 batting average and a .604 OPS on the road this year. His Colorado Springs numbers are huge - .337 BA and a 1.018 OPS. I think he's the classic example of how mediocre batters can really get a boost from the thin Colorado air.
