  1. Alright seriously, I knew the second Branyan thread would get locked....but at the same time I didn't think the first one would. He hit his first home-run...why can't that be recognized. I look at every major league box score every morning....it's not like I am searching for Branyan's box score. The first thread was something positive....it was not to get anyone riled up. Branyan is someone of interest on this site, whether you like him or not. I thought it would be a good idea to track his atbats through his own thread because I was accused last year of just pointing out when he failed....and I was all for that. Ralph, for you to think I have anything against you or that any of this Russell talk is directed towards you is crazy. To be honest with you, I didn't even remember you were a Russell fan....maybe that shows how much attention I pay to your posts. Two people stick out that I really do respect on this site when it comes to my disagreements with Russ, that is brett and rluz and they haven't said one word. But for whatever reason Ralph, you find it as an attack against you. I lost interest in you and your posts the minute you lambasted the brewcrew review last year. And as and added note Brian, thank you for keeping your cool about all of this. I appreciate that fact that understand it is just this one issue with me and that you allow me to post on other subject matters.
  2. Brian, I honestly don't understand....those are facts. The same way if he was batting .275. It's not like I am making stuff up to make Branyan look bad. What about the Alex Sanchez comments on this site...why are they acceptable?
  3. Ralph, those Branyan thread's were not directed towards you or towards anyone in particular. Like you, I am also happy to have Koskie here. I have only started two Russell thread's....the first one happened to be when he hit a home-run. That thread was not negative in anyway....I was congratulating him and at the same time stating the facts like is .180 average I think for how much Branyan was discussed on this site, why shouldn't we keep up with what he is doing. Just because he isn't a Brewer doesn't mean we don't care about him. I see continous shots at Alex Sanchez on this site even though he isn't a Brewer. I think it really just boils down to the fact that Russell is getting his chance (again) and not producing and that really bothers people.
  4. Clark is in the 8 hole tonight...Rickie leading off
  5. Believe me, I do not feel singled out....that is not the issue. Great post mothership connection.....you sure have garnered my respect with an attitude like that. If you want to call me an "---" and a "stubborn little baby" than more power to you. I think you might just be a little too sensitive buddy.
  6. Brian, your right, I thought Duke was the next Glavine (I guess he still could be) and didn't expect him to have these types of struggles....so I was definately wrong on that one. I think for me the Braynan topic is just funny because of the split on this site. Believe me when I see him go yard, I wince because I know I might hear about it from people on this site. At the same time, when I look at the box score and see him strike out 4 times, I get a chuckle out of it. Nothing is personal....I truly believe that if we ever hung out together, a lot of us would be pretty good friends. I know the easy thing to do is let it die, but the Braynan threads were fun threads as long as you understand the meaning behind them. Russell Braynan is the reason why baseball is so great.....because everyone can look at the same player and form complete opposite opinions about him.
  7. The reason everyone is so sensative about the Braynan thing is because maybe the people that thought he was VASTLY OVERRATED are right....but we will never get that here on this site...instead threads will get locked and the topic will go away because it can't be defended anymore. I am not the only one that feels this way. If you don't agree with the "right" people on this site, then you are not respected. That is why I rarely post on this site anymore...so if I want to stick it to the people who were so sure Branyan was going to suceed, they deserve it the same way I deserve it if Braynan would hit .300 or hit 30 home-runs. But I won't have to worry about that because it will never happen.
  8. I am being serious....I don't get it. Just because he is having a bad season, doesn't mean his name can never be brought up. Would you lock a thread if he hit 3 home runs in a game and someone mentioned it on this site?
  9. Brian how is that baiting? It is simply stating the truth. The people I have had good discussions with about Russell thought he would suceed with his new team. There is an interest in Russell no matter what the motive is? I gave him props for hitting his first home run the same way I mentioned his 4 k's in one game. What is wrong with that? It is facts...not opinion. Would it be different if Russ was batting .300 (or even .200 for that matter) with 5 homeruns. Why is everyone so sensative on this matter?
  10. Is De La Rosa the only pitcher that Ned won't let lose and let him get out of a mess. We will never be a playoff team with Ned at the helm.
  11. Oh Ned..what would we do without you
  12. I thought everyone on this site hated ESPN?????
  13. Hawing....who is your brother...I'm from Dodgeville?
  14. A groundOUT by definition results in an out. The "strikouts don't matter" camp has always compared a strikeout to a BIP out. You are confusing that by comparing a strikeout to a BIP who's result is still unknown. It's obviously better to have a chance of reaching vs. none, but that is not what has ever been argued. It's this huge misunderstanding that has caused countless unecessary arguments at brewerfan.net. You can't have a chance to ground out if you don't make contact, so therefore I think making contact is better than striking out.
  15. I don't have any stats to back it up. Just a gut feeling, I don't feel a good vibe with him and his future with this ball club. I hope I'm wrong.
  16. Evelend is really making me worried. He is getting roughed up pretty bad. His attitude stinks and I am disappointed.
  17. I guess there will no more getting nervous over Fielder's every AFL at bat now that he left the team for personal reasons.
  18. Rluz didn't bait me into anything. Maybe thats how you see it but I think the uproar my post of K K K actually was more of a bait for everyone to jump on me. Yes you want to post when good things happen but you already admitted the "real" purpose of his HR HR HR post.
  19. I think this team has the talent to go on spurts of great play, but it doesn't have the horses to consistently be a top-tier team. That's why they have been so frusterating this year. We all can see the glint of hope, but right now, it is just out of reach. I would say that, barring the unforseen, if this team doesn't challenge for the wild card right up to the end next year, they will have played under their potential. My thoughts exactly. To next year!
  20. I agree this team has shown something over the last couple of weeks. They seem really determined right now whether you want to call that heart or just more focus, I don't know. Doesn't it make you a little sad that they didn't have this look back in August after they came home from New York and Philly. To me, I think maybe they were still a little relaxed and didn't know they could be a good team and not pushing ahead and playing at full steam the way they are now. Its almost like once they were pretty much eliminated from wild card talk, they refocused on the goal at hand and are determined to win for the fans. That is what I like about this team the most, you can tell they care and appreciate our fans.
  21. I have had plenty of opportunities to post when Braynan does something negative but don't but Branyan finally did something positive and BOOM there it was. Yes I was happy when he went yard, why wouldn't I be? I like Russell as a person, he has always been very nice to me, but as a baseball player.....we all now how I feel. The point is I have every right to post K K K when someone post HR HR HR. Rluz did not post HR HR HR when Billy Hall went yard. He was taking a cheap shot at the people who don't think Russell is productive. If you can't see that than either you don't want to or your blind.
  22. I guess if you are going to post, it would be nice if you could make it something thought-out and constructive. And this post was constructive?
  23. Do we really need play-by-play? I'm pretty sure that most of us are paying attention to the game in some form or another. I guess if you are going to post, it would be nice if you could make it something thought-out and constructive. Isn't that the whole point of an in game thread, to comment on the game. I like to read the in game thread the next day and like to have references of what happened so I know the exact time in the game. By the way, Ralph, why do you feel like it is your place to tell someone what to post?
