  1. I was being sarcastic tyguy.....this is what we would be hearing around here if the Brewers lost to the Nationals 13-5
  2. Playoff teams don't get blown out at home against a team like the Nationals.
  3. I think it is funny that you are complaining that you missed part of the game because you had to go get cups but yet you were on your cell phone missing the game when the issues started. Also, if you had terrace level tickets, you should have been in the terrace level.
  4. I don't see the point of putting him on the 15 day DL. By September 1st we will have any replacement or bench players we will need. What if Braun feels better in 5 days? Then we would have regretted putting him on the DL. If we need another offensive player coming off the bench, just send down a pitcher since we don't really use our bull pen that much anyways.
  5. Yeah, Weeks has no range......nice play Rickie!
  6. Sorry brewmann, I wasn't trying to be rude. I just think it is unrealistic to think you are going to gain an advantage during every series. As long as we can stay between 3-5 games of the Cubs come September, I like our chances.
  7. What are you talking about brewmann? When is the last time the Cardinals have swept anyone? This is the Cubs first sweep since they swept us.
  8. I am expecting a 2-4 roadtrip and I am fine with that. Just don't get swept in either series.
  9. Do you understand the point of all this? Its what increases the Brewer's odds of reaching the postseason. The Braves losing doesn't increase them, the Braves winning does.Just like the Cubs winning did yesterday. Actually the Braves losing should increase the chances of us making the playoffs...we would gain a game on a team that is below us in the wild card standings. I want to make the playoffs just as badly as anyone else on this site, but at the same time I want to have the best chance of reaching the World Series and to me that best chance is to win our division, so that is what I am going to root for. I am not worried about St. Louis at all, that is not a playoff team in my opinion. With our favorable schedule down the stretch, I do not see a scenario where we don't reach the playoffs. I am going to just sit back and enjoy us chipping away at the Cubs division lead.
  10. Mostly posters in the in-game thread. I guess I just get frustrated when the Brewers meet their expecations but never recieve any credit for that. If we would have lost a game or two against the Nationals the sky would be falling....but since we won it is pretty ho-hum around here.
  11. I was going to start a seperate thread, but I know it will probably get locked, but I'm just curious...who should we root for the Cubs or Braves? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  12. What does this saying mean? I hear it all the time, especially when things are going bad. Now that we have won 5 games in a row, everything is all good in Brewer land. Can we please get rid of this negative attitude. This team is taking advantage of "the weak part of their schedule" and winning baseball games they should be winning. That goes unnoticed when it actually happens, but the minute they lose a couple in a row, all the negative talk will come back. We are going to the playoffs this year, so lets all enjoy it.
  13. as far as I'm concerned, the fewer wildcard contenders, the better, and I'll go back to hoping the Cubs lose every game once this series is over. So when the Cubs play the Braves and Astros this week are you going to be rooting for the Cubs too....so we can gain some distance between us and those teams as well? At what point is a team close enough for us to feel they are a threat of overtaking us for the wildcard? Last time I checked, every Cub loss increases our chances of making the playoffs as well (as well as home field advantage)
  14. I think the point they were trying to make is....why should Brewer fans not have faith in their team that they are a playoff caliber team and will make the playoffs. We are ahead of the Cardinals so why shouldn't we be focused on catching the Cubs and not holding off the Cardinals? The way I look at it is like this....when playing blackjack, and you get dealt a blackjack and the dealer turns up an ace....do you buy insurance? I don't.
  15. Sheeter, I told you I would rub your nipples if you went out there and battled today.
  16. Tim Allen and Sparky were talking about this after the game tonight. They both agreed....a winning attitude wants the Cardinals to win. A losing attitude is rooting for the Cubs. I'm not calling everyone who is rooting for the Cubs to have a losing attitude......I'm just saying have some faith. The Brewers are better than the Cardinals and will finish ahead of them. If they can't finish ahead of this current Cardinals squad then they don't deserve it. Lets go get the division!
  17. So you think an easier path to the World Series is to go to New York/Philadelphia in the first round and then go on the road in the second round compared to playing the DBacks/Dodgers at home in the first round and host the second round?
  18. razzorsharp, were sweeping! Pretty confident on that one.
  19. Hey Rluz...what are the odds that the Nationals won't score a run all series? This is the one time I felt safe asking for a 4 game sweep.
  20. I disagree lukeevan....I want to reach the World Series. Winning the division makes that easier to obtain. That is why I am rooting for the Cardinals. The Cardinals are not going to win the wildcard. The closer we get to the Cubs by the end of the month the better. My goal is to be 3 games back heading into September 1st. I like our chances for a division crown if that is the case. I still think we can play 2 or 3 games under .500 the rest of the way and still win the wild card.
  21. Sounds like a good cause rluz...your on http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Your on rluz....If I could back track, I would say that 86 wins will win the wild card (the East division winner might have more than 86 wins) but I will stick to my prediction.
  23. I think 86 wins will be enough to win the wild card....just my opinion, but I don't think anyone other than the Brewers and Cubs will be 10 games over .500 by the end of the year in the NL
  24. So, if the Cards sweep the Cubs and both the Brewers and Cardinals are 2-3 games back, people on this site won't be happy?
  25. I know sweeping a team is never a given...but honestly anything less than a 4 game sweep against the Nationals will be very disappointing. I know I might take some slack for that, but we should and will win all 4 of those games. However, I think we will lose 2 of 3 in San Diego.
