  1. Wonder how many runs we would have right now if the red hot Weeks was in the line-up? Especially with the nights Hardy and Braun are having.
  2. It's nice to never be trailing in a game so we don't have to read the "it's over" posts. Funny how nobody ever claims the game is over when we have a 2-0 lead.
  3. Please stop ripping on Weeks. Without him, we would have lost the first two games of this series.
  4. Right now the Cubs are at -300 to win the division and the Brewers are at +250. I think that has a lot to do with Vegas wanting to keep the odds higher for all the silly Cub fans out there.
  5. I will try to find the line rluz. I agree that if a team has won 9 games in a row there chances of winning a 10th game in a row is the same as if they have lost 5 in a row heading into that 10th game. My point was that the line in Vegas does reflect how well a team is playing at that time....maybe that is because more money is being put on the "hot team" causing the line to move...but that doesn't change the fact that the line is higher. Why even play the season if we are going to go off of projections. Do you think back in April the Rays would be favored to beat the Red Sox in Tampa when they played back in late June? Of course not, things change as the season progresses. I still cannot understand how one could think the Cubs SHOULD be the favorite to win the NL Central when you factor in each teams current roster, the upcoming schedule and momentum (yes it does exist). Also, how can you say that the difference in schedules don't matter.....isn't it easier to beat bad teams compared to good teams. The Brewers have 10 home games the rest of the season vs. teams with winning records (7 against the Cubs and 3 against the Mets) One more thing....CC is worth more than 2 wins just by his mere presence alone ane message it sent to the team http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  6. Teams are hot into they aren't . They are cold until they aren't . Vegas doesn't care about hot streaks and neither do I. This simply isn't true. During the Rockies run last September their lines continued to get higher and higher the hotter they got.
  7. Again, how are the Cubs the favorites? Look at the remaining schedule for both teams.
  8. I would have to think the Brewers are the favorites to win the division and have home field advantage in the NL Is it because the Cubs have the better record or more runs scored or a better team ERA that makes you say that? The Cubs are by no means lock but let's keep things in perspective. No, I don't think it has to do with anything that you mentioned. The reason I think the Brewers are the favorites is because of our current roster vs. their current roster as well as the remaining schedule. With the Cubs playing 10 more games against the NL West and about 10 less games against the NL East compared to the Brewers along with the Cubs having to come to Miller Park 7 times out of the 10 remaining games between the two teams, the Brewers have a huge advantage in the schedule. The Cubs numbers might look prettier right now, but how much of that is due to their weak schedule? The Cubs are having a hard time winning on the road, so unless that changes, how are the Brewers not the favorites?
  9. This just shows you how long the actual season is and how many ups and downs there are. Honestly though, at this point....I would have to think the Brewers are the favorites to win the division and have home field advantage in the NL
  10. I don't know about you guys....but the Cubs look pretty nervous to me. This is awesome. Should we be cheering for the Cubs to further distance the Dbacks from the wild card race? Remember the Cubs won the division in May
  11. This game is over....man the Cardinals stink
  12. No matter what the outcome of the next inning and what the situation is in the 5th...Yost should pinch hit for McClung when he bats in the 5th
  13. I'm not a big fan of this deal....hopefully it doesn't disrupt the clubhouse. These young guys are very tight. If were were to make the playoffs and advance, I would rather do it with our guys, not one year rentals. CC I understand, he is a difference maker, but Durham not so much.
  14. How do they pretty much have a playoff spot locked up. There is a 3 game difference of being out of the playoffs. They are by no means a lock to do anything.
  15. I was under the assumption that the Cubs have already locked up the NL Central back in May....but after tonight's game it looks like the Cardinals will only be 2 games back with the Crew 3 games back. Should the Cubs be alarmed? Are they going to start feeling the pressure? What is the media going to do....they already said the Cubs clinched. What about the people in Wrigleyville? Back in May they sure were acting like they just won back to back NL Central titles. One other thing...I thought one of the big differences between the Cubs and Brewers was the Cubs ability to win on the road, while the Brewers struggle on the road. Looks like the Cubs are 8 games under .500 on the road while the Brewers are 3 games under .500 on the road.
  16. Let VIlly hit here....he should be pitching the 8th
  17. Villy should pitch the 7th and 8th. Torres the 9th
  18. Your right trowekamp, I forgot that you can't raise your average and OPS 200 points overnight.
