  1. NBC compiled the list. without having looked at it yet, i would think that NBC shows are heavy on the list EDIT: just looked at the list and noticed that there were about 7 (i didnt count that close) lines from SNL
  2. i have been told by the police to "get moving", but never physically forced out of the parking lots
  3. concession stands are really strict about this rule. every time i have volunteered in a stand, the stand leader (a sportservice employee) makes sure that all sales stop once the last out of the 7th inning is made.
  4. this is all second hand so take it for what its worth: the game in question i believe is the saturday game of the second cubs series. i was talking to an usher friend when leaving that game about the crowd. apparently there was magically a guy with a camera everywhere a fight occurred that night....same guy, same camera. rumor has it that the camera guy may have been inciting some of the actions that night. my usher friend was shocked we brought our 3 year old and 9 month old to a saturday cubs game. my section was as tame as tame can get. i also would have had no problem making sure anyone unruly (from either side) was no longer near my kids.
  5. here is the moment of sanity: we had our 3 year old and 9 month old at the game saturday night in 425. no problems at all. talked with a ticket taker friend as we were leaving in the 6th (darn kids!!) and he said there was a solid fight in section 404 last night. we actually say about 6 cops running by the playground outside our section toward that end of the stadium. i think it all depends where you sit, even in the terrace. my tickets are season tickets and i think that many around me are as well. fans have been generally well-behaved for all the cubs games this year. as you get further down the foul lines in the terrace, you get to tickets that are only sold for that game, hence the fight in 404. these are not your typical baseball fans. i cant imagine having any problems with my kids. if i did, i would remind the people that there are kids in the section (i may have been guilty of a little potty mouth here and there at the game as well, but once i see a kid, i put a cork in it) if they are still rude after a friendly reminder, they dont deserve to be in the game, and i will make sure they are not.
  6. which unfortunately made the "f em bucky" shirts harder to find...until recently...interestingly enough after alvarez moved up in the UW athletic world.
  7. after hearing stories about ushers and other stadium staff supposedly picking out the alternate ones, i would agree. what does the team have to gain from this? they are going to sell out. they dont see any extra $$ from the alternates. anything?
  8. my wife is graduating with a masters in ed psych saturday morning.
  9. I hate when companies use MySpace or Facebook type sites for their official websites. Movie companies do this all of the time. It seems like a lazy way out of having to set up their own official website. News Corp owns both MySpace and Fox, so that kind of make sense.
  10. the original list discussed no hitters brought into the 8th inning...i think that is why cc's "no hitter" wasnt discussed. another near no hitter was sheets on opening day 2007. between a couple hits, he put down 22 in a row.
  11. does anyone else find amy poehler to be the least funny character on the show?
  12. you make it sound like this didnt happen with every snowflake that fell all winter... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif
  13. speaking of vendors, anyone remember the peanut guy at county stadium that would get an entire section to yell "peanuts" back at him?
  14. its always a red flag to me when they advertise a show as "from the producers of..." that show with bradley whitford after the west wing was advertised as from the producers of the west wing was not very good either. i havent watched the second one yet, but the first one was not overly funny. and i work for the parks. then again, i am really not a fan of the office either. i am giving it about 2 more shows.
  15. buy a gallon of water. pour said gallon of water on your grill and grates when you are done grilling. place grill in vehicle.
  16. if this were the case, it would have been nice for them to come out and say that. instead they offered no reason why they flipped on their claim from late last year.
  17. i dont see a problem if they arent obnoxious and annoying (there are a couple cubs fans i met that arent...really!). i am sure they will get enough crap from the rest of the parking lots to feel somewhat unwelcome
  18. if you are there anytime the rest of the weekend, just look for everything and anything made out of metal. you will likely find one somewhere. ive seen magnets in the strangest places on my way out of the opener.
  19. i am sure there are still some set aside for people who still order season tickets. i believe last year they offered those to lottery losers the day before. i would be willing to bet some tickets are sold at the ticket office day of game...but probably only a handful if that.
  20. this is definitely the unofficial answer. they will always say 3 hours before. we were in line at 9:15 last year and were about 50 cars back from the front of the line.
  21. i would normally agree with this and i realize that the number of people without HD still probably outnumbers those who do. my problem is that FSN went out of their way toward the end of last year to claim that all 2009 games would be in HD...then didnt follow through with no real reasoning as to why it didnt happen. its almost like they never claimed that all games would be on HD. that and their SD picture is garbage...even in normal proportions.
  22. does the opener button in the garage have a "lock" button on it? maybe you accidentally hit the lock button, which stops the opener from working. not that i ever did that with my opener http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  23. i think i called this one. very disappointed with FSN's unfulfilled promise. i searched about 10 minutes for contact information to express my displeasure, but only found a general FSN feedback form. i will be holding my breath waiting for a response. http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/sports/42207647.html
  24. option #4 is extremely feasible if you are willing to go without ticket in hand.
  25. i have never bought formula from anywhere besides sam's club. and they also take the coupons that similac sends out (though they are only $5 now and we dont get them nearly as much as we did with the first kid) from what i have heard, sams and costco are similar.
