  1. You are going to have to explain this one to me better.... We actually sign a MVP super star in his prime for a long term contract and then he what, tanks? That is what we are known for here in Milwaukee? Yeah, that happens here all the time. More like never. He’s saying it would be the luck of our franchise to sign a superstar to a huge contract and then have him tank. Not that it happens frequently. "Milwaukee Brewer sort of fortune".... he's saying unlucky things happen here often then, this being the latest. It's something Cubs fans would say about their team since bad luck is the reason their team didn't win it this year. Does anyone think of the Brewers as "unlucky". Having a smaller payroll in a small market with no salary cap is the reason we often miss the playoffs and rarely celebrate playoffs. Being mismanaged may play a part too, especially in the 90's and early 2000's....but unlucky? We have stunk sure, but albeit we recently made the playoffs twice in back to back seasons. And if he's trying to compare Yelich's deal/performance to Braun's 2nd extension, Suppan's FA deal, or Higuera's deal, it's not the same in any way.
  2. I think all of this is out the window this year. The season is two months long. Knebel should get some save opportunities.... along with KRod and Jeffress when they are picked midseason.

  4. You have to look like you're trying/care. That's what the vast majority of things are these days. Marlins probably would redo the shaking of hands after the win on Saturday.... just stupid when all the other precautions are set up. Hi five lines NOW?.... it's like the easiest thing to get rid of.
  5. 1/2 game out of 2nd Wild Card (8th spot NL)... .500 will likely get it done.
  6. Zero? Not even 200 for friends or family in a suite? No chance of that? Would that really be considered fans at that point? Well, it isn't happening now, is it? Small crowds can be defined a bunch of ways, I guess. Maybe "ticketed fans" would be a better way to phrase it.
  7. Zero? Not even 200 for friends or family in a suite? No chance of that?
  8. The reason I bring this up, and some beat me to it, is that most NFL football teams "plan" on having some fans in the stands...., somewhat drastic difference between two outdoor sports. Also, what's up with no exchanging cards at home plate,no spitting, having extended dugouts, yet teams are going through the handshake line at games winning end. That doesn't make ANY sense.
  9. Just wondering what Brewer fans feel about the odds of having fans in the stands this 2020 season. I put the odds well above 50% that there will be small crowds, Lord willing, allowed at most stadiums towards the end of the season and playoffs. If high schools and colleges are in session and some sports are happening with crowds, greedy professional sports teams will not be able to keep themselves from getting some fans in the park, imo. Then again, it would be great to see a Brewers home playoff game after all this mess, mask and all, wouldn't it?
  10. Rather see him leading off than Sogard. I just don't understand why Sogard is batting there, Cain is better in every way. If we're essentially getting Arcia and Sogard batting one after the other let's just put them 8th and 9th rather than 9th and 1st. Sogard outhit Cain last season, right? It's not a slam dunk decision. Sogard is a lefty too.
  11. Can I call to get refunds now for the remaining games that will not be played? Anyone know?
  12. Got a bunch of money tied up in regular season individual tickets.... the incentive to just let the Brewers keep the money for a year is what exactly? Sounds like they haven't thought of an idea yet....
  13. So no refund for individual tickets?
  14. Oh, nice. I also can't wait for the five game NFL season and three game college football season. A 50 game season would be great, as long as they are not playing the World Series during Thanksgiving.
  15. Great insight on the service time... not sure if what you are saying is true, though. For some reason, I thought they were getting full service time, or like last year, regardless of how many games are played this year.
  16. What would a 50-50 revenue split look like? Is it the same as revenue sharing? Does this mean ALL revenue is pooled from the upcoming season with half going to players and the other half to owners? Each owner gets an even split and players get money proportional to their contract comparable to other players? Help, please...
  17. My guess is that there is no season because of the money.... the players have to back waaaaaay off of their position right now, and their historically tough stance in negotiations will keep them from a deal. Their union's reputation alone will not allow a deal to take place. Then there are the safety measures and the limits that will be put on players.... where and when they go, strict routines, less family time and whatnot. Another big hurdle. Ultimately, if one or 30 baseball players gets the virus, what would be the protocol? How could the games continue? Do games stop for a day, a week? Too many bad outcomes. But yeah, the money dooms this, IMO.
  18. McClure topped 90 when he was strictly relieving. He threw pretty hard for the times. After he became a starter he was right around 90. Vuke was pitching with a tendon tear in his elbow towards the end of 82. What now would put a pitcher out with TJ, some guys pitched through because he was so adept at changing speeds on his fastball he could still fool hitters. I've never seen anyone since then be able to do that. Caldwell was the toughest hombre in the league. Wasn't afraid of anything or anybody. He got under Reggie Jackson's skin many times by backing him off the plate and then getting him on soft breaking pitches away. I think Caldwell could still pitch today. Jim Slaton was a relatively hard thrower early in his career, but he became a painter and had tremendous command away. Unlike today's game, guys threw more breaking pitches for strikes because hitters could lay off the stuff off the plate with two strikes unlike in today's game where they are so geared for upper 90's stuff. The lefty reliever who was a Brewer several years later that had real gas was Ray Searage, the long time Pirate pitching coach. Of course Plesac could get it up there too in his early years. In the 80's, I remember being somewhat in awe at a pitcher that could hit above 90 mph.... most didn't or couldn't.
  19. https://www.mlb.com/cubs/news/cubs-ticket-options-through-may Group tickets and premier rentals- Fans who fall in this situation who had tickets for March, April and May will have their dedicated Cubs sales representative contacting them soon to discuss the option for a credit plus a 5 percent bonus, a refund or an exchange of tickets.
  20. Where on that page does it note how to get refunds? .....and after having to scroll down through 17 other stories first..... Seriously guys, has anyone FIRST HAND tried to get a refund from the Brewers and been unable to do so? Anyone? As previously noted, this is only an issue here. I don't know why some are making this a crusade on behalf of the fan base when it's not really an issue for nearly all of the fan base. Me.... I have to wait until May's policy becomes official for getting a refund for a group game. Then again, depending on whatever the policy is or who I talk to, I might roll the money over into next year and get an extra 10%.
  21. Here's info from the Cubs. https://www.mlb.com/cubs/tickets/single-game-tickets You can get to it by clicking "tickets" on the front page of the website.... https://www.mlb.com/cubs/news/cubs-ticket-options-through-may Also, you can get to it by clicking "news" on the front page of the website. The Cubs provided info to all fans for refund or carry over. If you are a lover of the phone call, you are encouraged to call for more info with a number provided AND they give you a special email address to contact. If you tried to email the Brewers for a refund, they wouldn't even reply (and THAT of all things is in print!). From the Brewers site.."Any email received requesting a refund to your original payment for the game dates specified above will not be answered." https://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/breaking/ct-chicago-cubs-white-sox-ticket-refunds-20200429-knkxfuwtibeevisqoju5exg3ga-story.html Any season ticket holder was contacted with a special email with directions and given options for a refund or to have the money carried over to 2020 or 2021 with a 5% bonus. Single seat ticket holders received refunds automatically by method of payment. Don't even call them! The money is back to you immediately. Finally, did everyone read the ThisIsMyCrew comment a page ago.... it can't be assumed that all Brewers ticket representatives are giving the same options and info to Brewers fans. Just call and ask for a refund and all is good? Really? A refund was not given to this man's friend. My ticket rep. also mentioned how many others have had the same complaints about difficult ticket policy. And me for instance, I have group tickets for the end of May, and I was told that I have to wait until May's policy is officially given before I can get a refund. It's a little bit like the secret menu at a restaurant. You have to know the right people to talk to get what you want, the real info is not out in the open, and it's all a bit of a mystery. There is no mystery in why it is being done, however. The Brewers have been so good to their fans over the years, and that goodness has rewarded them greatly with large crowds, great business, and really good mojo over the last 15 years..... really since Mark A. took over. I'm just surprised.
  22. Missing the whole point.... One, just write down what the policy is and be honest and consistent. Actually put it on the website where fans can find it.... that would be a good start. If refunds are an option, just say it. It's like a sleazy furniture store that has policy on oversized posters around the store that claim the price is what it is... no negotiations; but the real dealing is done out back. Two, fans shouldn't have to call and fill out forms for refunds. The game wasn't played and it wasn't rescheduled. Just put the money back on the credit card like many other teams in baseball. It happened the same way with the WIAA girls tournament.... just got $ back on the card. And three.., if all was good with the original policy, why did they switch policy (supposedly) a day later? And now that policy is no where to be found by maneuvering around the team website. Because of this backwards strategy, the team will make thousands from fans that either forget about their 2020 tickets or fail to use their tickets for 2021 tickets. I'm glad that you could handle that phone call and that you got your $ back. My personal opinion is that it's plain wrong how they are going about something that the average person would see as a simple transaction. 100% agree. The team as a whole is botching this. A buddy of mine had the same situation as mine, asked for a refund and got auto replies and sent to website. Not very consistent. I’ll gladly pay some money to see a game soon though! Aint that the truth...
  23. Also, the back of each ticket begins with "No Refunds"...If refund is an option, shouldn't that NOW be in print in a fairly obvious place?

  25. Great idea.... I agree, it would be a hit. I'd like to see a few outdoor movie theaters (I know there are only a few left in the state) show games midweek. I would think this would be somewhat popular too.
