When is the date that we can offer the max? Has it been moved back?
-
I contacted the ticket office about this whole mess on their website. They replied an hour or so later. Here's their reply. "Our current policy for March and April games is on our website, and can be found at http://www.brewers.com/update, which was updated less than two weeks ago. We also sent an email to all ticket holders that had email addresses on files with information regarding this policy. For games beyond April, we are still working with MLB on the 2020 schedule, as well as policies and options for customers with game dates of May 1 and later. We ask for you to continue to remain patient while we work through all of the details. As policies and options are finalized for games in May, June, July, August, and September, information will become available at www.brewers.com/update , and all purchasers will receive an email from us at that time. Any and all updates, ticketing or otherwise, are being posted on that webpage as soon as they become available. Best, Milwaukee Brewers Ticket Office" --------------- I hit the website given, and what do you know? It's the old policy (no refunds). I replied with... "This is not the current policy, is it? There is no mention of refunds for individual games, whatsoever. The May 1 policy went out after an uproar of fan discontent, but this is not it. Did the team go back to the original policy? Do people get refunds for April games? They gave an automatic reply immediately after I sent my email.... "Thank you for your email. This response is an automatic reply. Our inbox is currently monitored Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm. If you purchased single game tickets and are inquiring about receiving a refund for 2020 Postponed Games that were impacted by COVID-19 (March 26, 28, 29, 30, 31, April 1, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 28, 29, 30): Please visit http://www.brewers.com/creditand fill out the request form. Any email received requesting a refund to your original payment for the game dates specified above will not be answered. In order to receive a refund back to your original payment, you must fill out the request form. Refund requests will be processed in the order received. Please allow up to 10 business days for processing. We will respond to any inquiries regarding purchases for games after April 30th within 3 business days. I responded with, "Please put your ACTUAL TICKET REFUND POLICY on your main webpage. You are confusing (and maybe purposefully) your loyal fans, and it is making you look extremely shifty. We all know that you want to keep the fan's money as long as possible, but this looks bad. Do I have to ask questions or call people before the actual refund policy is shown? That website that you NOW show..... how do you get to it from the actual website page? What is the step by step procedure to get there? Nobody can figure it out. Are we just supposed to know that brewers.com/credit is where we can look for a refund? Very shifty...."

The issue hasn't been clarified or simplified. It was seemingly resolved, but the team continues to show old info (no refunds) on its site. My guess is that thousands of people still do not know about the refund and will be resigned to do what the old policy gives them options to do, or be forced to call the ticket office in search of a refund. The team could easily send money back via credit card to the fan for past games, but that isn't being done either. Are you personally effected by the perceived confusion? Seems like debating semantics to me. Most retailers, service providers, etc. will offer 'store credit', etc. first when things go bad or are returned, and if the customer asks, they'll give you your money back. Of course, the Brewers would prefer people who are baseball fans who bought tickets to baseball games to take a 'store credit' to allow the Brewers to give them tickets to other, future baseball games. For a lot of people, that's a perfectly acceptable ask. For those where it's not, they can pick up the phone, and by all accounts, get their money back. Did other teams handle it better? I'm sure some did. Did some handle it worse? I'd bet so as well. But unless people are legitimately unable to get their actual money back now two weeks after the policy was initially rolled out then changed, isn't the issue resolved? Arguing about the prominence of the location of a refund request form on the website, two weeks later, when you can pick up the phone seems odd to me. I had no individual tickets in April. I was a part of a school group in April. I have a group and individual tickets in May. I just want the team to be forthright with policy....they're playing games now. It seems odd to me that any fan would not want the team to be straight with them. The die hard and those watching team news daily know the policy seemingly has been changed to allow refunds. My guess is that there are thousands of people who do not know their ticket options yet. They haven't been paying attention or are putting off any action in regards to their tickets. Moreover, without the team refunding to credit cards, the team will make thousands of dollars at season's end on tickets that were not refunded or given credit to future games. Even if the team allowed no refunds and only credit for future games, whether it be 2020, 2021, or 2028, and were forthright about the policy, I would not have as much of an issue as what they are doing now. Store credit is commonly given in stores instead of cash refund, but the time frame is usually unlimited. The Brewers were initially giving a credit for just 2020 games in the middle of a pandemic, and as of now the website has the same information.

Well, if others want to keep talking about this, I'm game too.... Because it isn't on the current website... the old policy with no refunds can be found there in its place. Yet the new one, which includes refunds, cannot be found. Oldsnapper gave us the web address (which many were able to easily view by going to the team website, including me, on the day of the change of policy allowing refunds), but no one knows the should be easy path to view this new and current official policy through the website as is right now. It should be in a really easy viewing area via the team's online site since thousands are wondering what to do, or what they CAN do, with their dozens of tickets. The team seems to be clutching the buck pretty hard, even still, as more and more games are cancelled. Many teams are simply refunding ticket money DIRECTLY back to fans credit cards. This is being done without the fan having to even CALL the team. It simply happens. Common sense says no game....no game rescheduled....no money kept by the team. I'm guessing that the Brewers sales team is doing all they can to keep fans money, or the big picture is to have fans roll it over to 2021 tickets. Concluding, their no refund policy was just bad.... no refunds and offering credit to future 2020 games (not even 2021) was upsetting to many. The Brewers changed policy the next day and like most other teams now offer refunds. However, the refunds were only for April games, not April and May like many other teams. Now, the new policy, which was up on the website for a day or three, cannot be found by the average fan by going to the website. It appears that the team is still hiding the information in hopes that many forget about their spent ticket money for 2020 or will be resigned to have it rolled over to 2021 tickets. If this wasn't true, the team could have simply refunded money directly to accounts. It would have been way easier and way less headache for the PR department. The refund information would also be easy to find on the first page of the website.

sigh...

Yeah, please show me how to get to that link. Oh, I read your link's info last week Thursday or Friday. I just can't seem to get to it now through the website.
-
You said you could find it in 15 seconds from the site, correct? I'm trying to give the team the benefit of the doubt by letting you show me how to get to the correct and current information from the official team site. Or are you now saying the site is not updated and that it should be fixed?
-
I'm not sure what you're saying. Do you mean that the Brewers should upset their younger base by making them call the ticket office rather than simply updating their online policy page and allowing them to process their refund electronically? If having to make a phone call upsets someone, so be it. The Brewers organization caters to the fan base more than most. People complain just about everything in today’s society. The team is still, mind you, not being very forthright with their ticket refund policy. Still. Call it asleep at the wheel or deliberate, it's still not good. How did you get to the May 1 current policy through the site? Still curious... Too much complaining? Aren't you complaining about fans asking the team for money back for games not played or rescheduled? The irony in that is pretty thick. Also, your view implies that the written word (team policy) doesn't really matter. It's like not taking your written comments here on brewerfan.net as your real opinion. To get that, would a fan have to call you by phone?

Again, I don't have tickets in April. It's the principal of the matter. How did you get to that link? Every time I go to "tickets" I keep getting the pre refund policy. There is nothing in official press releases either. I'm glad that you could find the link, but it doesn't appear easy to get to and there is plenty of other old ticket policy info showing itself as current policy in prominent areas. Please help. Thanks.

I was told a few weeks ago that school groups could get a refund in April, but not other groups. IF this was the policy or if the group ticket guy was going off script, I don't know. The bigger point is this....Why can't they just put it in writing and be straight forward? Is that too much to ask? You're fine with everything their doing? Has anyone tried to get a refund for a May game yet? I'm curious how these games will be handled.
-
Website still the same.... no refund being mentioned in writing.

Only two losing seasons in 33 years? Wow..

As of right now, you have to play a game and jump through some hoops, it seems. There seems to be deception going on here. Whether it's asking specifically for a refund for an April game that was not or is not written in policy, asking for a refund for a school group in April (other general groups no refund a few weeks ago, my rep. told me), looking at the website for easy ticket refund information, or getting refunds on May games that we all know will not be played, it's a circus. I am surprised that this is the way of things for our extremely fan-friendly Milwaukee Brewers. I also can't seem to find the May 1 ticket policy update on the website which allowed a refund....all I can seem to find is the April 30 ticket policy (no refund). Dare I say that they changed back the written policy (or at least what is shown to fans on the website) to April 30 (no refund)? I mean, even on the front page of the website, the Brewers have a current link that states "Latest info on tickets for March/April games"..... you click on it and the April 29 MLB article from McCalvy comes up with general MLB refund policy info. Within the article is a link to the April 30 Wacky Wednesday policy with no refund shown for April games. There is no May 1 ticket refund update to the madness (which I did see on Thursday morning) which did state that fans could get a refund for April tickets! If anyone has the May 1 info yet, please share. It's not in an obvious and easy to find location right now. https://www.mlb.com/brewers/news/brewers-march-april-ticket-refund-information There was an easier way, a cleaner way, and a more common sense way to do this whole refund thing upfront with the fan. They are clutching the fan's rightful buck very tightly (yet and still) it seems. I really don't want this to be so it's frustrating. My group ticket rep. today said that he is still sorting through emails from Wednesday and apologized for the late reply to an email sent. My school group ticket refund from my April is still being processed because of the backload of emails he's replying to still from Wednesday. This is a very real thing to ticket reps right now. The ticket refund policy, whatever it really is... who knows.... is like Bob Dylan's song right now... Blowin' in the Wind.

First, I never had individual April tickets. My school has April group tickets, but we had an option to get a refund a week or so already. Now we can get a 10% credit on top of it if we choose to keep the tickets. Second, your friends were given a refund? Wasn't it just a refund form before? Just curious because I find it interesting to have a team policy that says noting about refunds. Then after a few of your friends complain, or whine, then they get a refund? That doesn't seem very straight forward and fan friendly, does it? Last, the Cubs got this one right. I can't believe this is debatable. The Brewers did not initially. They had to back track quickly to get it right. Your whole point of how the Brewers got this so right is so way off base, particularly because they CHANGED their policy the next day. That's all I'm trying to get through to you, my Brewers friend. You are saying that all was fine on Wednesday. It really wasn't. Apologies for the poor tone to my questions and responses... I'm trying to do better with this.
-
Over here, after policy was announced all we did was ask for one while checking our options. If someone is calling up angry to the ticket department, that person should probably settle down and evaluate their own actions. Not the way to handle customer service who are just doing their jobs with the information they are given. If you're upset with policy then play your game to those that can actually affect it. I have no problem at all with the way the Brewers are handling this. Of course they want to keep the tickets sales and offer credit. You make it sound like they want the money and not provide the entertainment. How many people who are upset even checked with the ticket department prior to taking up arms? I'm guessing not many at all because they would already have processed their refund and kept on living their lives. Ding ding! The answer is zero! Because like all things on social media, your problem is solved 95% of the time with a phone call or email directly to the organization. This isn't any different than the person whose first course of action is an angry Facebook review about an overcooked burger, rather than just asking the manager for another one on site. It took them less than a day to publicly advertise refunds. Less than one day! Less than one day because it was so wrong and so easy to see the folly of their mistake... A week or so ago, I was TOLD that refunds for school groups were going through in April, that's it. Individual games and other games were not. My group ticket guy said that many others hand contacted him and were upset over this.

They never told.....TOLD anyone "no refunds"? The refund option was not written anywhere in the official team ticket return policy for March/April games on Wednesday. You are literally saying that you or someone you knew got a refund on Wednesday by asking, correct? If that's true, the team is still missing the point in all this. The team made a poor, calculated PR move, in my opinion... they corrected it. The team was so far out in left field on this one. I hand it to you, though.... loyal fan to the end. Anyone who contacted the team themselves Wednesday was told to fill out the form. At no point did they deny refunds. So it is not accurate to say they said "no refunds." The existence of the refund form on Wednesday makes it pretty obvious their first memo was never intended to be the last word. You can get a refund and it is advertised within 24 hours of the team having the power to do so. What are you still whining about? And this has nothing to do with me being a loyal fan. It's about a bunch of adults flipping out way prematurely as if this is a very predictable and normal situation for a company to be in. But I do wish they somehow could penalize everyone leaving dumb comments on their facebook. They're not as petty as I would be. So.... you or a friend had this happen? How do you know that the team was taking refunds? Also, if this is true, a form request is a lot different than policy. It's the PR department's way of getting an angry called off the phone. It can be unread for a month or rejected upon completion. And I wouldn't be writing anymore if it wasn't for your left field comments. Most see how the team was trying to keep fans' money for games not played or rescheduled. Without the "whining", as you say, the team would obviously still have it. Finally, I find it interesting for a guy with his hand in the secondary market to complain about Brewers fans in this situation and not the team. The team is not above reproach, believe it or not. Aren't you all for individuals having rights over their own game tickets? Or do you consider these April games team money and simply nonrefundable?

The harsh truth is that it is not the Brewers money without the scheduled April game being played or rescheduled, and we all know that isn't happening. Our beloved team has no rights to it.

Take a breath and be patient...or maybe people just shouldnt drop as much money next year on tickets if getting refunded for these games cancelled for previously unforeseen circumstances ASAP saves foreclosing on a home. I get that 99 percent of us are in a fiscal crunch, myself included, but it's been 7 weeks since this thing went bonkers. Give mlb some time to sort out how the hell they are going to make this work when there still isnt anything close to goalposts established for how the rest of 2020 will look for them on the calendar. Covid has destroyed plenty of business models, including how pro sports teams generate revenue - give then time to adjust, and be realistic about what teams will actually be able to provide ticketholders for this volume of cancelled games knowing they arent sitting on heaps of cash. As much as people dont want to admit it, ticket sales dollars have already been spent or are earmarked to be spent during this year by all of the mlb clubs to help pay all sorts of operating costs not even associated with player payroll...and a big chunk of it has gotten tossed into the player payroll kitty that pays players through may whether there are games played or not during that time. Clubs will give ticket refunds eventually, but they will need to take out loans or find capital in other ways to do so. If TV revenue doesnt start showing up with games being played, there will be teams in fiscal trouble before too long. You should post this on Brewers Facebook.... it would be a hit tonight. The right way to do this whole thing is the issue, whether it's a little money or a lot. And yes, some people could use the extra few hundred dollars right now for something or someone important, believe it or not, whether rich or poor. The big picture is those games being played in April (or May) are not happening in any form. There is no makeup date. Just give the money back.... say it's coming in a month if need be to get your ducks in a row. The stinkin Cubs are sending the money back to your credit card, and you don't even need to contact the ticket office! They are giving a 5% additional credit to some who choose to have it roll over to future games, 2021 included.

Man, these guys have it together... great plan... and I'm being serious. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/cubs/cubs-outline-ticket-refund-policy-games-postponed-through-may-coronavirus

It sounds now like the ENTIRE schedule will change if there is a season. I haven't heard of any talk with the schedule staying the same with potentially 30,000 plus fans at the game either. Brewers fans are ticked... just looks really bad. Even if they gave no refunds and 2020 ticket $ could only be used for 2021, that would still be bad. The harsh reality is that many, maybe even the majority of people, have no intentions of going into a crowded or even half filled stadium in 2020, no matter what MLB decides. Many could really use the refund for necessities.
-
Terrible. You can't even push your 2020 tickets to 2021? If I have seven games for 2020, I theoretically have to fit all my games into the potentially small amount of games at Miller Park in 2020? Nutso..., Some attending my party are over 70 and will have questionable interest at best to attend a game in Milwaukee this year. Are they crazy?
