  1. If he goes in the Hall of Fame as a Brewer (anyone hear if he's going in as a Cardinal? likely right?), I don't see how he would not have his number retired. If he likes us that much, we are about sure to like him back. Then again, we put Gantner's name in the Walk of Fame, but not Simmons. If you played five seasons in Milwaukee and are in the Hall of Fame, you at the very least should be on the Walk of Fame.... right next to Jenkins and Higuera.
  2. Wait, Hiura at 3B. Pretty sure he would have a shot at worst defender in MLB history. He can’t play 2B and struggles making throws to 1B. Across the diamond? Oh my. They would trade him to the Cubs for nothing before he moves to 3B.
  3. If he goes in as a Brewer, yes.
  4. In a big game, playoff game, a manager will pull out all the stops. He'll take any advantage to not have to have a lefty face three righties in a row. The penalty needs to be stiff enough or we will see plenty of going around this rule.
  5. I think it’s an important note. That it isn’t just a 3 batter minimum. It’s that or he finishes an inning. He could come in with 2 outs and only pitch to one batter. Could you just pull him after a batter? What is the penalty/rule? Would he have to be sent down for 15 days? If so, I could see the Brewers breaking this rule, pulling a lefty out after one batter, and just sending him to the minors since he probably is heading there anyway in the near future. Also, we all know that a pitcher could just fake injury (or real injury). Is there any rule about this on the books?
  6. Should be the top 8 teams.... play the first round as bowl games. Reseed after the bowls. Top two teams have home games, and the winners go to the nTional championship game. Also, Clemson has been relevant just the past few years. Utah is a possible top 4. The same teams aren't always in contention. Florida, Florida State, Miami, and USC were dominant for years. Now, they are fairly unimpressive.
  7. My gut feeling is that Hader's best years are behind him. It's going to be difficult to put up better years than the last two. It would be selling high to have an unbelievable top of order.... Lindor, Yelich, Hiura.
  8. As of right now, like NOW, Suter is in the rotation. Starters on the roster are minimal, and he has positive experience there. He's slotted behind Woody, Lauer, and Houser now. Maybe Peralta rounds out the rotation now.
  9. Hader for Lindor straight up....4 seasons for 2.
  10. Sutton allowed 1982 to be 1982 in Milwaukee, WI. He won two big playoff games for us in Baltimore and in Milwaukee-Game 3 ALCS. More than that, we needed his presence and innings in September just to get to the playoffs.
  11. Or we wouldn't have gotten to the WS. Ladd pitched very well in the ALCS to get us there.
  12. I actually expect Hader to be dealt, especially after seeing the moves/deals made (or not made) thus far.... 1. He is one of the only guys that can, almost by himself, fill their holes at other positions. 2. His value will NEVER be higher. 3. We could not fully replace Hader, but we do have Knebel coming back, along with a promising Wahl and bounce back candidate Burnes. 4. His services for 4 years would be in demand by contenders AND rebuilders alike. 5. We won't be winning bidding wars for other high level FA talent so our get better avenues are limited ( thin farm), especially if we are looking to contend this season. 6. He is going to get expensive quickly- something a big market wouldn't think twice about, unlike us, keeping his value higher for them. 7. Relievers are extremely volatile, even the really good ones. 8. I'm not sure the Brewers want to go to arby each year with a reliever who complained a bit about his 2019 salary already last offseason. They would be playing down his abilities yearly, for an extra year to boot being a Super Two; signing a reliever to a long deal in arby years hasn't been done in Stearns years either. I just hope they get a ton if they so choose to cut him free. I expect it, though. My guess is that they will be aggressive in looking for a deal.
  13. Living in la la land if we think there is a chance he's coming to Milwaukee... better chance of him retiring.
  14. Odds are what....50/50 that he is nontendered?
  15. No way in the world Strearns would even think of the deal. Lindor is estimated to get around $17M this year and lots more in 2021 and he is gone in only two years. He's way to expensive for the Crew plus giving up young controlable talent. Well, if you are not going to pay Yelich (a maybe), then these next two or three years will be prime years to do this. Get the best player at the second poorer hitting position. Get the best top of the lineup in the league... Lindor Hiura Yelich
  16. He led the league in SB one year and Craig wouldn't dare to pinch run him the next. That is all you need to know about his baserunning skills. I would put Aguilar and Sogard in front of him on my wish list for return Brewers this holiday season. Sheffield would be on the bottom of that list.
  17. That 'project' already matches or exceeds Arcia's production, so I'd think they're fine with it. No, I don't think so....his offense needs to be better. His major league numbers have to be much Brinson better. He really hasn't been tested as a major league SS defensively. If a guy has two positions attached to his name, it usually means he isn't all that strong defensively with the more difficult position. We will see. Does he have any minor league awards for D
  18. So you're saying that Hader is gone in a few weeks? His value will NEVER be higher...
  19. Perhaps we are just flipping Urias for starting pitching or he's a part to get Lindor. I'm thinking we have a two year window here to be players and then serious thought on a tear down and rebuild need to be taking place with Yelich nearing the end of his contract. We really can't be THAT patient with another SS project, can we?
  20. They did use the bullpen often, however. A deeper bullpen gave CC a whole lot of flexibility in managing a game in Sept., especially with pulling the SP earlier in games
  21. The guy made an error. He didn't kill a guy. Clean slate analogies are harsh for a guy who had a fabulous 2019.
  22. Just silly off-season talk... can't discuss a lot of team stuff yet. I don't claim that the bat was planned to be in the logo and that I am 100% certain of it. Just to me it looks logical or rather so coincidental it probably was planned on purpose. Would have been easy to leave it out. And as we all know, the logo guy was looking for meaning on multiple levels.
  23. I disagree Can see the seems on both edges of the ball, including the curved line in the middle... not the same as the logo. And the glove?
  24. I disagree Can see the seems on both edges of the ball, including the curved line in the middle... not the same as the logo.
  25. Oh, ok... we'll go with your very literal interpretation of the looks of these baseball objects..... Not a baseball then either. The lines of a baseball do not move that way. Not a glove either. Gloves have four fingers. And the bat is lacking a handle and knob. They work well together, though.... classic Brewers.
