    PCA is $19.17 per year for 6 years with no club options and escalator to $133 Chourio is $10.25 per year for 8 years with two club options at $25 mil per. Chourio with a much better contract.

    Chourio’s contract is about half of PCA whiner….so that plays in this too.

    We just don’t know all the details……did the Tigers ask for the teams’ best offer or not? But not having a pitcher in the offer with three hitting prospects, not a smart move. You knew they asked for pitching back. . Detroit might just say not dealing with you because you couldn’t listen to basic instructions.

    Tigers did this sooo early. Just looks odd, especially with a rather light package coming back. The Brewers can’t control what the Tigers do, even with a prospect package that was better.

    If the Tigers came to the Brewers and emphasized how they wanted a good, controllable starting pitcher back as a part of a package….and we sent back a package of 3 top hitters (Made, Fish, and Frias), I can understand why the Brewers were not taken seriously, even though we say that package is way better than the Dodgers. It could all be that the Tigers wanted Henderson and when the Brewers said no, then there was no use to go forward with this. It would be great to hear the real story of this all, but no way did the Brewers think this deal was going down two days before the deadline….feels like the Brewers were ready to dance around with the Tigers a bit with prospect packages and the Tigers weren’t, possibly because of Skub’s desire to go to the Dodgers and the Dodgers willingness to give them guys asked for initially.

    It would be equal to 2022 selling Hader. Getting nothing would be toxic. I like the Seattle deal I listed….would be tough for a below .500 team to pass up. And almost perfect for us.

    Wouldn’t a great bat be almost better than anything else now? And throw in Made at 3B down the stretch? Check that lineup out! Chourio RF Turang Arozarena LF Bauers 1B/ Vaughn Contreras C Yelich DH/Vaughn Mitchell CF/ Lara Coop Made 3B/Ortiz

    Maybe that’s filler for what they will be giving up….tough to be big buyers when sitting below .500. But I hear ya.

    And we would still be stacked in the minors….Ebels filling depth in infield. Made and Coop filling left side of IF for a decade?

    Tough to talk extension with Made when you have no idea where he can play defensively…. And his position SS is seemingly set in Milwaukee.

    ARozarena would be my choice …Put him 3rd in the order and the Skubal negativity mainly goes away, especially if they get Kirby too. The price? Steep. Pena, Fish, Letson, and a good milb outfielder? I would do that, yep. It would be steep, but would have Kirby for a couple more years and a great bat NOW in the middle of the lineup. Another righty bat to play OF. Lara and Lockridge would be moved down and maybe called up in Sept. Frelick would be in the mix too when healthy. I would jump at it if I Was Seattle……..bright future for 2027 + immediately.

    I think it will be just share all tv money, a reasonable floor, and a harsh luxury tax….idiots to miss all season. And a universal draft starting in like 2029.

    He could have been approached and asked where he’d prefer. That’s not a reach. My guess is that Detroit asked for teams best offers and used Dodgers as last team to top that offer. I’d do that since their well is deeper than all and could afford to give up their entire system. Also, Detroit could be equally sick of the MLB system and decided to do this to push the narrative to change the system.

    Reminds me a bit of being disappointed when David Cone went to Toronto in 1992. Yet, we got opportunity yet to make a better deal here. And again I’m sort of glad this deal wasn’t made considering the price that would have been paid if it was Henderson, Pena, and Letson. Funny how the mind works, but I immediately thought about just bringing up Made and Fischer NOW and roll with it. And the line from Fresh Prince was in my random thoughts too…hadn’t watched the show in years…”Geoffrey, break out Lucille!”

    Yep. I agree with it all. If we win it all this year, it will be more impressive than their last three combined.
