  1. 4. MUSTs!! 1. Brewers MUST be thinking that Turang is our SS if Ortiz implodes/gets hurt. 2. And the team must be sky high on Siegler at 3Bafter Durbin….MUST BE! Unless there still is a plan to put Frelick at 3B! Ha. 3. Prices MUST have been waaaay too steep for Brewers brass to get a player better than Monasterio. Otherwise why not? 4. The biggest truth…..the team would rather lose with the guys in the dugout than make easy upgrades. Stupid pride….I think the goal is to not just win, but to try and win in the most unconventional way possible. I thought last season’s additions were low-key yet so valuable. Made sense. We sell SP depth this year? Only Hader deadline in 2022 was worse. I would vote for Melvin to run the team from July 28-31. And I absolutely love what our front office has done for us! Absoutely! But most of those prospects we value in Top 50 of our organization are not sniffing the majors.
  2. He doesn’t play SS or 3B, correct? 2B and OF?
  3. And Ollie was one of them….
  4. Big 20 minutes………still think they aren’t content at left side of infield. Especially for depth. If Durbin/Ortiz gets hurt, figure on one happening, what is going to happen?
  5. Captain Obvious says it is absolutely nuts to be content with SS/3B situation….EVEN if you say you are good with Ortiz/Durbin. No one should be ok with Monasterio and Siegler as backups when better veteran backup players can be had for peanuts. Crazy it is not seen or addressed already.
  6. With the Brewers not giving out anywhere close to a full stadium worth of bobble heads, why wouldn’t they just give out the option of a a free hot dog coupon or a five dollars off coupon for box office tickets….some have no interest in getting several bobble heads within one family or even a married/dating couple. This would allow those coming to the game who want a a bobble to actually get one, especially now that the Brewers are too tight in giving one out to everyone there like they used to do regularly for years. Easy fix.
  7. While we shakily trot out Yoho in a four run lead in the ninth….against the Cubs mind you, I am getting more frustrated with how guys that have pitched very well for us…namely Henderson… have been used. With Logan, why is he pitching all these innings in the minors? Wasn’t the story that he was hurt last year and that he had to be limited this year? It isn’t August and he is well past last year’s total (81.1 IP) throwing just shy of 100 innings? Starts regularly! Cortez and Patrick are seemingly ahead of him in the SP pecking order, why not use him in the pen? He could throw multiple innings here or there, as well. Ala other past SP turned RP briefly in Brewers seasons past, I think it’s time for Henderson (or Patrick) to help our pen. They were pretty good up here to waste(?) innings in AAA.
  8. And a 3B/SS for sure….Ortiz and Durbin can still play but a left handed bat there helps us with balance/depth. I wonder if the Orioles have to be thinking about a radical youth movement to restock their system. Gunnar for several pieces but Made?
  9. 11 wins….if I’m George Webb, I STILL announce a promotion tomorrow. Announce a Buy 1 Get 1 thru the Cubs series….11 wins= 1+1 burgers. For Brewers faithful. Why let the momentum die tomorrow?
  10. “Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain….la de da de deee…La de da de daaaah.”
  11. Everything is seemingly falling their way now; however, they could/should be ADDING to their group at the deadline. I sure hope to see playoffs this year.
  12. Best record in baseball on July 20…and it is largely because of young (cheap) talent that doesn’t even hit arby for a couple/few years. Incredible.
  13. Starting pitcher that throws over 100 mph regularly for major innings each season does not scream long term contract to me. All that stress on that arm. Just worried about arm troubles…but hey, I didn’t like the risk with Chourio either for different reasons and feel I was happily wrong now. Another thing you rarely hear is the insurance policy on big contracts over many years. I remember hearing it with the Sheets extension. A favorable insurance policy would negate these risks and feelings, especially for small markets.
  14. Who picks replacements?
  15. 6 man on 5 man schedule…one guy is skipped rotation each time thru.. …I like that better than everybody throwing once a week on 5 or 6 days of rest.
  16. Quero isn’t going anywhere. I would do reverse trade of Cortes for Devin Williams. SS is going to be tough to fill this year…even with overpaying.
  17. The Brewers have had very poor DH outputs from 2023-2024 and often treated the position as a way to get backups action. I like having Yelich there as a consistent hitter for that DH spot and a way to maybe keep him healthy. I expect that he will continue to play LF occasionally.
  18. Well, I really do he would have. The Padres with Hader finished three games ahead of Brewers without Hader. There is the difference. You also ignored the collective groan from the entire organization. That groan likely cost them a playoff berth. It is the only time in the last 7 years they have missed the playoffs and the only time they traded away a top star while in the hunt. The Brewers bullpen roles were now all shifted…and boy did it show. The team led MLB with 16 blown saves after the trade.. Numbers wise, a 6 run blown save blew up his numbers with SD. You ignore he was about perfect the last month in must win games while the Brewers had the most blown saves in the NL with traded for Taylor Rogers leading all of baseball in 2022 with 8. Taylor played a big role in Brewers missing playoffs too with a 845 OPS with Brewers..(Hader .737 with SD). Hader was lights out in playoffs too (.091 BA, .348 OPS) in 5.1 innings getting Padres to NLCS.
  19. 113 OPS+ as a Brewer…..ok. Inconsistent or meh roughly 25 years then?
  20. Very good crowds….looking to get even better late!
  21. Hoping for great crowds this weekend!
  22. Adam, we were arguing different points. Yes, I see Yelich as our DH this season since he has played there the majority of time. If he were still OF, then no he would make more than everybody. Also, I cannot see Pittsburgh trading him in division to play against them four series each season for a few more seasons. And I don’t see the Brewers giving top prospects for the same reason.. to haunt them for a decade.
