  1. The universal draft levels the playing field for the league. The Yankees and Dodgers have too many edges on the system already. Also, money isn't "wasted" on 16 year old kids who might develop into major league players in 7 years. Put an age limit on it and get serious about paying money to players that are developed and are ready physically and emotionally to play on minor league teams in the states tomorrow. Latin America has no seat at the table for this discussion and should have no seat at the table.
  2. An all inclusive draft would help small markets, big time. Always disliked the idea of Yankees paying gobs of money on international scene to multitudes of kids banking that a few would help them in the long run. And really, an unfair process. Make it One draft and let all have a fair shot at attaining all players. If you like the player enough and he hasn’t been drafted by any other MLB team, the big markets could still sign them after the draft, but this way teams like the Brewers would not have play second fiddle consistently for major international talent.
  3. I side primarily on the side of owners, right or wrong. Players make too much already, right? Yet, the Manfred comments here stood out. I was listening intently to his words and this came out. If it is up to you? Yeah, of course there is a deal.
  4. Crowd should be off the hook against Purdue…
  5. Nah...this was a rarity in sport, any sport. Deserves the attention its getting. Coach hits assistant coach after altercation in handshake line? Great talking points for coaches and athletes at every level.
  6. One of the best for showing videos of just played games of Brewers minor leaguers…
  7. Howard was pressing and trapping. He has no leg to stand on with the timeout calls. He started the whole thing. Ticked off at losing this game and playing awful in 2nd half… looking for reason to escalate situation on Wisconsin team. Found it. The other TO under 1 minute gets very little attention. Gard subbed his guys on a made basket TO and play continued with no full timeout. One could argue that he was trying to move the game along here and wanted it to end quickly.
  8. Mentioned before, but I am for the DH for the starting pitcher. When SP leaves the game, then I would like to see RP in the spot. This would allow late inning pinch hit strategy, and pitcher bunts to still be part of the game. Best of both worlds.
  9. Big win… watching Purdue and Illinois even more meaningful now.
  10. Yeah, like others have said…The Brewers care about fans in the stands like all teams. Proportionately, it matters even more to small markets than most teams because they depend on $ at the stadium to offset their lower local TV contracts. Free tickets, half price deals, and group deals get people to the stadium to spend $ for parking, food, merchandise, etc. I don’t get the arguments here.
  11. No hot stove in Dec. No baseball talk now except negotiations. It’s all hurting the game. I would have to believe more and more are planning to use their baseball funds in other ways. If there was an organized fan boycott in 2022, I would think a majority of fans would be publicly on board, if only to get the attention of both players and owners. I can’t see myself going to more games this year than usual. Probably far less. Very discouraging.
  12. If they play Illinois in the Big Ten Tournament, they will double more. I've given up on any type of zone, but they have doubled or shown on better big men from time to time.
  13. I could be mistaken, but I think the NFL only allows teams to trade draft picks 3 years out (so in this case, 2022-2024). I think you are right. When 2022 draft begins, I believe 2025 picks can also be traded. I’ll adjust to 1st rounders in 2022, 2023, 2nd rounders in 2023 and 2024, 3rd rounders in 2022 and 2024.
  14. Three first round picks the next three even years (2022, 2024, 2026) and two 2nds the next two odds (2023, 2025) would be a great haul. I can’t believe Denver wouldn’t do that immediately for 12. I’m all for cashing in on Rodgers now and setting up the future. This kind of opportunity doesn’t come along often.
  15. Kohl Center still draws. It’s usually top 10 in attendance. Does this translate proportionately to being loud and a great atmosphere for college basketball? I still think so. However, after Bo Ryan, Frank, and Sam left, it has been a bit of a downer in Madison. Not as good atmosphere as before. Still very good, though, especially when top ranked teams come. They went from back to back Final Fours to a bit better than fringe tourney teams over the last 7 years. I can see why enthusiasm is a bit down for both Badger BB and FB. We have seen better Badger teams recently or have hoped for better teams and have fell short often. This Badger BB team has hopes up, though. We’ll see how the crowd is against Purdue in March.
  16. Hey he had a Packer hat on I’d prefer it if he didn’t. Anyways, Hats mean nothing, if I remember correctly.
  17. ARod in the stands at a Lambeau playoff game is the quintessential example of not selling your tickets. Puke.
  18. Losing Dillon on special teams play, of all things, hurt big time.
  19. Wahl continues to show his value while absent in home blowout loss.
  20. I’ve been to two games, which to be fair I think were just after finals in December, but the crowd seemed very…meh. Rarely got into it and if they did it was for a very very short time. Though I really haven’t gone to other arenas enough to really gauge how different it is compared to the typical experience. Still….you’d think a match up like this at home would get people excited. Then again, I just don’t think Wisconsin basketball has that dedicated of a basketball crowd. Ya think being down in the teens has something to do with it?
  21. I was pretty young for that game, but my memory is that the defense put most of the receivers on the ground right at the line of scrimmage for the first series or two. They just made their lives hell to start the game and SF was completely unprepared for the level of physicality. I think we also range Brent Jones bell a couple times. Huge fumble by 49ers for TD early..... I remember listening to it on my walk man before a high school game. Everyone was so pumped and even surprised we were doing so well. Big high in SF; huge letdown in Dallas.
  22. My favorite player, Wahl is 0-17 and they have been winning. Good sign.
  23. Purdue’s bigs remind me of thick, built versions of Alton Lister and Randy Breuer.
  24. Iconic is an unusual word. Looking up the definition will get you a variety of meanings. If it means widely known and well-established, I don’t think MSG has the value it once did. The Knicks are horrid, beyond horrid for a big market team. The circus and boxing are outdated. I’m not sure if the avg. sports fan could even recognize the building from the outside, either. Augusta and Cameron, I agree with another, are not iconic in the entire sports world. Golf and college basketball are not universally recognized as big time sports. For the U.S., it’s football and baseball…. Football is king now, baseball then. Although, If the original Boston Garden were still around, that would be the answer, hands down. I think Lambeau has a a legit claim as being one of the top two or three iconic sports venues because it best represents the NFL and it’s upkeep/additions have been stellar.
  25. Giannis stays. Sun Block. Valley Loop. 50. Bucks win. Crowds outside unreal. Parade. Packers back to back Central champs/NFC title game Brewers NL Central Division Champs, 4 playoffs in a row Badger BB NCAA round of 32 Badger Football 8-4, bowl win Wisconsin Volleyball Nat’l Champs Rider Cup Champs in WI I know 2011 was impressive too. I’d probably go with 2021, though. Bucks season was something else.
