  1. Considering the standings, this isn't a bad time for him to work on his offspeed a bit more in game situations. But when it counts, go to what you do best. Considering the standings and that we are playing the Reds, stick with what is working. Practice other stuff in practice.
  2. Nobody was arguing which was the biggest game though. That was just Rick arguing with himself. Still looking to “die on this bizarre hill,” a week later, I see. Am I allowed to respond without being attacked for not letting this die? You went well out of your way to say that Game 7 was better than Finals Game 6. Go check the posts. Plain to see. When I respond with my opinion that Game 6 was better/bigger, suddenly I am building a strawman and out of line. I said two or three times that I AGREE with you on Game 7 being a more exciting, close, back and forth game. We differed greatly with Game 6. We disagree on this, and that is ok. I think you are not right and obviously vice versa. How I am arguing with myself is anyone’s guess. In general, I enjoy reading about everything in your posts. Glad to let this topic die, though.
  3. I miss the days when the strike zone box wasn’t a fixture on screen for every pitch. When robots call the game, keep it on. Then at least it would be more concrete…..
  4. And he’s subbed in at 3B five min. later with Adames injury..
  5. A few starts at 3B from Peterson would be fine with me.
  6. For all of his meh, his defense seems above avg.
  7. Why did you put games 4/5 on there for nlds? Sweeeeeep baby!!! Hope so! Then…I throw Burnes 1,4,7 of the NLCS because of the many days of extra rest before NLCS. Houser and Ashby could piggy back him in the 5th/6th if not dominant.
  8. Agreed. Except Lauer would be the starter game 4 of NLCS. Burnes can go on 3 days rest for one start, even if that's only 4 innings. He could go on three days, but he wouldn’t if Lauer is throwing Game 4. Off days are after Game 2 and Game 5. If Burnes went 2 and 5 on three days rest, then Peralta would be up for 1 and 6 with six days rest.
  9. NLDS Game 1 Burnes Game 2 Woodruff Off day Game 3 Peralta Game 4 Burnes (only game a pitcher would be going 3 days rest) Off day Game 5 Woodruff Off day NLCS Game 1 and 5 (if NLDS goes 5) Peralta NLCS Game 2 and 6 Burnes NLCS Game 3 and 7 Woodruff NLCS Game 4 Houser/Anderson World Series same as NLCS
  10. Think the same… their righties will face more Rowdy and Peterson because of Escobar’s injury; this sounds better than us facing Miley.
  11. Absolutely… impressed to the max with him today. A 99 mph fastball with that movement and the offspeed stuff for strikes. Great to see…. Pencil him in the rotation for 2022. Also, he should be a cog here on out either in the pen or rotation. Borderline crazy to send him down now…
  12. The nice thing about the Lambeau preseason games is that tickets are pretty cheap. A lot of the Stubhub tickets were between $20 and $40.
  13. Sweeping gets us up 11 in the loss column with no more Reds games on the schedule. Getting swept puts us suddenly at 5 games up in loss column with still five games left in August alone. Odds are we win one or two, but this is a big series that’ll set up the gravity of near future series.
  14. Reds have 63% odds of playoffs now at Fangraphs compared to 26% for Padres. That has dramatically changed through August. On August 1, it was 76% Padres and 22% Reds.
  15. Who said they were? I think a few said the Reds were outplaying the Brewers at the break since the Reds had just swept us. Right now the Reds are playing very well too and have just taken a one game lead for the second wild card with the Padres hurting. I have been following the Padres a bunch lately since the worse they do, the better the Brewers odds to make the playoffs. Even now, we can keep an eye on the Padres until another team leap frogs them. Because even if the Reds catch us, we have a big lead on the 2nd wild card. It’s pretty cocky talk against a team that has been playing very well lately and has beaten us thoroughly this year in Milwaukee.
