  1. Most runs on the team? Urias Fourth most quality starts? Lauer
  2. Jeremy Jeffress currently has an 11.17 ERA in 10 G / 9.2 IP with 14 K / 8 BB / 3 HR pitching for the Lexington Legends of the independent Atlantic League. Is that bad? He doesn’t have COVID, yer sayin.
  3. I'd guess there's about a 1% chance that JJ finds his way onto an MLB roster from this point of the season forward. I won't say zero, just because you never say never, but if he's not into someone's facility by now, and if teams haven't gotten ahold of him by now, it's probably not going to happen, and we probably wont' find out *why* for a while, if ever. 1% is still better odds than Axford.
  4. Sorry to hear that, hope you’re feeling alright. Hope all is getting better…
  5. Has Jeffress been signed by someone yet? If Axford was a possible…
  6. Tell the rest of the starters to stay home when not starting….. More bad can happen than good when here.
  7. Yes….So many deals of Stearns are about player control and paying less salary to free up $ for other parts of the team. Often goes unnoticed. You can almost say the Brewers won this trade because of the extra money they saved to spend on other parts of the team. Yes, so relieved we had extra money to sign JBJ If it helps you, think of the extra saved $ as extra mistakes the team can affordably make.
  8. Caldwell was runner up to CY Young and 12th in MVP in 1978. Way better stats than Vuke in 82. Fingers in 81, CY Young and MVP, was extra good too for a shortened season and 78 IP, but MVP to a multi inning closer still boggles my mind. Still can’t believe his number is retired by the team. His Brewers career is much more like Simmons, Sutton, Axford and Vuke than Molitor and Yount.
  9. Wow… Caldwell ‘78!!! 2.36 ERA, 23 mind you complete games, 293.1 IP That’s my pick for best season. I’d go… Caldwell, Higuera, Sheets out of what you listed. Our guys are not close to these three yet. Two months of pitching might change that, although I’m still taking Caldwell regardless…. and that is in the American League with the DH!
  10. Yeah, I read the article. He denied everything without getting specific about anything. So, yeah, he would be much more believable if he conceded certain points on how he was not supportive of Gard at times because of X, Y, and Z. Here is the article… not sure if everyone can read it. It’s a subscription service, but this was free to read, nonetheless. https://madison.com/wsj/sports/college/basketball/men/former-uw-basketball-star-coach-alando-tucker-laments-mistaken-assumptions-in-first-statement-since-departure/article_348f84a8-faf2-5b65-bc7d-fbc83e311aef.html
  11. I expect Hiura to be much better. I also think he could be back up this year with expanded rosters… or even before when we’ll see more left handed pitchers (not that he can hit them…yet) over a 7 to 10 game stretch. Too much talent with past MLB success and current AAA success to think he is done. Don’t sell low.

  13. I really don’t buy any of the Milwaukee/ small market hate. More than ever, all these underlying stats play a factor, much more than like in 82 when Vuke won it based more on his team’s offense and his own wins than his stats. Peralta could be this years’s CY Young’s version of Devin Williams for Reliever of the Year… not really expecting it until after the fact when all the raw numbers are stacked together. If he puts together more of the same type of outings, nothing more or less, he has a great opportunity. The only thing holding him back now is CC and how much he pitches him down the stretch. If he is being skipped or limited to 80- 85 pitches in 5 innings, then no, he has no shot. In my mind, a Brewer has about a 50% shot of winning the CY Young this year. They have been that great! With Hader, they might even get votes for four pitchers this year.
  14. We have seen how quickly things change. The Cubs this year with all their pieces went from 1st to 4th in a month, down 12 games. The years 2014 and 2017 seem to really bring up bad memories of us blowing games (8 by Axford, 7 by KRod, and more) and not hitting in Aug/Sept. In 2012, we had so many blown saves of Axford, then KRod. That was a 95 win team with a 2011 Axford. No, in my mind the race is favorable to us, but the 90 to 95% odds we win the division seems way too high. In my mind, it’s more like 70-75%. With the walking COVID and uncertainty on our team, it feels less than that.
  15. We have three horses in this race, maybe even three out of the top seven or eight. With de Grom out, this is an open race for the last two months. After looking through some stats, I think Peralta is right there at the top. Peralta is leading in opponents BA by A LOT at .136 (Woodruff is second at .179; only six below .211). He is second in ERA at 2.21 (Buehler at 2.16; only six below 2.75). He is fourth in Ks with only being 22nd in innings pitched, leading Ks per 9 innings with 12.16. He’s tied for second in WHIP with .89 (Woodruff at .88). Moreover, He set a major league record for a season unbelievably BY JULY of having 12 starts with two hits or fewer! The big thing holding him back may be the innings pitched. He’s at 114 IP and the too 7 are all in the 130s or 140s. Yet, those innings have been extraordinarily good. Yeah, the opponent BA stands out to me. Buehler has second most innings and best ERA, 4th in Whip, 5th in opp. ERA., and great record 11-2. If I had to pick now, my top 5 are… Buehler, Peralta, Wheeler, Gausman, and Woodruff
  16. Indoor at Vitense (Madison) Harbor Pointe (Sheboygan) Moorland Road Golf Center (New Berlin)
  17. Last year, a few teams were shut down for multiple days because of COVID and here we are signing Axford and pitching minor league pitchers in close games. At what point do our games get cancelled and rescheduled?
  18. Hoping Freddy has a good one today… off day tomorrow is a mercy. Anyone else feel the Adames error last night was harsh? One hot smashes to infielders are rarely called errors… unless the official scorer called it on the bobbled pick up and felt it was reasonable to get an out at 1st or 2nd.
  19. I’m not sure how Adames play could be called an error. One hop smashes to infielders are never called errors…. Unless it was gen on the bobble pick up and that the official scorer felt he was still able to reasonably make a play at 1st or 2nd.
  20. Have to wonder how legit the elbow injury today.. probably legit, but it is rather convenient at the precise moment CC was going to take him out. Without the injury, he is likely released. As is, he is paid league minimum salary through the end of injury, I presume. Or is he guaranteed his salary already for the rest of the year regardless of what happens?
  21. Boxberger forgotten a bit in this one…. Big two outs and save. Tough situation to be thrown into…
