  1. Leuer, no runs and 5 IP. Our 6th starter, taboot!
  2. Loved seeing Ax on the mound again, nonetheless. Yeah, those in AA/AAA had to be wondering about the Axford move.
  3. It would be fun to hear Tucker’s take.
  4. Because Westbrook has a 44 million salary for this year, plus a 47 million player option for next season & doesn't really have as much impact on winning games as his gaudy box score stats might suggest. Averaging a triple double is very impressive. He is still a special talent…. maybe top 20 in the league yet. He’s now one of the best third scoring options in the league, for sure. If Westbrook stayed put, maybe they make the playoffs at a #6, 7, or 8 seed… early playoff exit and not a high pick. Many teams don’t want to get caught in limbo like the Bucks did for many years, barely making/missing the playoffs. I can see why the Wizards did what they did, but I’m surprised that they couldn’t get a little more… many a couple more #1 picks.
  5. Wouldn't surprise me in the least to see him sign with the Cubs this offseason on a short term deal - not really sure if that would be good or bad for us as Brewer fans, but the Cubs will be needing to add some veteran everyday players to fill out their MLB roster even if they just burned what they had all down. If the offseason FA interest in Story is lukewarm based on a subpar 2021 and a long list of other SS free agents, I can see him signing a 1 yr prove it deal in a big market to build his value back up and get flipped by that noncontending team at next year's deadline. Uphill battle for Cubs to get top FA if they are saying rebuild.
  6. IMO…Unless you have someone fairly assertive enforcing rules with eagle eyes, you can walk in with a variety of food options. Maybe that has changed or will change, but from my experiences this year it has been a varied mishmash of policy and enforced policy.
  7. So our AAA guys are worse than Axford? Can’t we just say next man up? Puzzling. Yet, if they believe he is better..
  8. He deepens the pen, yes., and the option players can come back this season or next to help out. We agree. And yet you are totally overlooking his stats against lefties the last two seasons! That is the real story…. Whip under 1, ERA around 2. Stats against righties are down right awful if you take out his work against lefties. Loogy. How is a .677 OPS against him “down right awful”? Those were his numbers from last year against righties. You are right with the 20 innings against RHP in 2020. Yeah, that’s pretty good.
  9. Topa. No limit on pitchers in 2021. Maybe Feliciano? A third catcher?
  10. The Reds looked really good at the All Star Break. Most Brewers fans were, in my opinion, in agreement that they looked better than the Brewers at this time, even though records favored the Brewers.
  11. I have been impressed with the Brewers offense since the sweep of the Cubs at the end of June. This last month they have been impressive by scoring against some quality pitching teams and drilling bad ones. Before that, it was pretty shaky, not stable, and small feast or famine. Let’s put June in context. The team played an unprecedented amount of bad pitching teams in June, please remember. They played the Rockies and Diamondbacks seven time each! Throw in the the Pirates and Tigers too…not even the Reds in the first June series were .500 yet(they were the next series). When they came back and drilled the Cubs is where it began for me.
  12. Taylor can be optioned yet in 2021, correct?
  13. I think Leuer might be optioned soon with the additions to the bullpen. Shaw and Vogelbach DFA probably and hopefully at AAA in waiting. Keep Petersen and Taylor around. Petersen is out of options, but not a Taylor, correct? Topa to minors. When all healthy…. 13 position players Yelich Cain Bradley Taylor Garcia Rowdy Wong Adames Escobar Urias Narvaez Pina Petersen 13 Pitchers Woody Burnes Peralta Anderson Houser Suter Norris Cousins Strickland Curtiss Boxberger Williams Hader September (2) Leuer and ?
  14. They’ll keep Strickland. Gustave and Reyes down now, Sanchez down when Yelich returns. Peterson DFA’d. Will be interesting to see what happens with Shaw and Vogelbach. Both probably get DFA’d too. Peterson DFA? I don’t know. Lauer has an option too. I’d hate to potentially lose Petersen completely.
  15. His future is bleak with the team, as constructed Where can he find at bats? Unless he finds time at DH in 2022 or 2023…. gotta think that is coming to the NL at some point soon. With Wong at 2B and presumably Rowdy getting some share of at bats at 1B, I don’t know where he finds consistent playing time. In any event, he should get some opportunity to show he can play in 2022 Spring Training. Glad we did not sell low on him today.

  17. He might be up again with injuries. Who knows?
