  1. Another part about this that hasn't been talked about much is this draft. If this doesn't get done by this year's draft, that could change things a bit. The Jets have the 13th pick in the draft and would very likely have a much lower pick in next year's draft with Rodgers. Plus current year draft picks always have a little more value (even in what is considered a weaker draft). If the Jets want this to be a 2024 draft pick, they for sure need to cough up their first, maybe more.
  2. I'm always amazed that people are so offended when an obvious grift is pointed out to them. I don't mind paying for schools honestly but the tax credits/breaks are dumb as most are.
  3. Not as much as I would if parents paid for their own kids education.
  4. Because you could keep him a year or two and then trade him for more than 2 first round picks? Or you could trade him to a team that doesn't get one of the good quarterbacks in the draft. Deshaun Watson, a worse quarterback, got more than 3 first round picks. Also, if the Jets thought Lamar was a good option, why do so much to get AR? It would have been malpractice to not have SOME idea what the Packers wanted before going to California to meet with AR. No one knows how long Lamar will go before signing with another team or back with Baltimore anyways.
  5. If Rodgers hears this, 100% he is not going and will just retire or find another team. Then Baltimore matches on Jackson and you are probably stuck with Zach Wilson as your quarterback and the NY media is going to destroy you. Sure you could trade up in the draft for one of the rookies but you are going to pay dearly.
  6. Duplicate post
  7. Makes me think that in home child care makes a mint in the northwest. ;)
  8. You have kids and that means you get a tax break... why? I also pay for schools for those kids as well. I don't have a problem with paying taxes but it's dumb that I pay more because I choose to not have kids, that's all.
  9. Devin absolutely filthy on a scoreless 8th inning.
  10. Being a non married with no kids decent earner at tax time. My married friends with kids let me know how much I get screwed each tax season.
  11. Yeah well the details are kinda important on his "potential" trade. What is the player and what are the conditions for it to become a 1st round pick?
  12. The issue with Lamar Jackson is Baltimore can and would likely match the contract offer the Jets would give him. If I were the Jets, I would want to get this done sooner than later even if it means paying a little more than you want to.
  13. Exactly, this guy understands what leverage is.
  14. You guys believe what he says more than I do. He lost credibility with the whole "immunized" thing.
  15. That story doesn't make sense about Rodgers retiring until he heard he was being shopped. He is just trying to make the Packers look like the bad guys which is what he wanted all along.
  16. Yep, I am buying like crazy. This isn't terrible for a guy that's a buy and never sell investor.
  17. "The GM of the Jets, Aaron Rodgers, has agreed to trade Aaron Rodgers to the Jets"- Aaron Rodgers. This is what I expect to hear on that show tomorrow.
  18. Did not expect Brook Lopez to be the team enforcer but maybe he is just mad they closed down Splash Mountain and is taking it out on the league.
  19. Right and that's the problem I brought up. Not saying that top 30 ranking is the bible for best pitchers but to not get any of the US athletes to pitch for Team USA is a joke.
  20. I am very curious to see what the comp is for this trade. If we don't get their first this year, I will be disappointed.
  21. Rodgers is negotiating to get "his guys" to come with him.
  22. Nah, that's just not true. You are telling me most of these USA pitchers are old or injury prone? https://www.justbaseball.com/mlb/the-top-30-mlb-starting-pitchers-for-2023/ (Note the pitchers from other countries playing in the WBC on there...)
  23. You didn't watch Zach Wilson attempt to play quarterback if you have no idea why the Jets would want Rodgers.
  24. Urias and Ohtani would be on every top 30 list for pitchers and the majority of the list are Americans. I'm not saying they have to come in and pitch the maximum amount but having a couple of top level guys for the big games would sure be a little more patriotic.
  25. Sure would be nice to get the best pitchers from the US rather than the group that are there.
