Williams, Bush, Milner, Wilson, Houser, Guerra, Payamps, and Varland.
This could change if Varland really falls on his face or if they send some cash or a lotto ticket to the Dodgers so we can send Varland to AAA.
Maybe but the odds of a real injury or some "discomfort" that leads to an IL stint is probably pretty high. These situations usually work themselves out.
Unless there are injuries, the Opening Day bullpen will be all about who has options and who doesn't. I expect Cousins and Strez to be in AAA to start the season. (baring injuries)
Okay well revenue is related to payroll. If you care about how much the team spends on payroll in relation to other teams, you need to care about revenue.
I do work with food trucks and people were complaining like crazy at their costs in 2022. I don't think people's expectations of food costs have caught up to reality. (although ballpark food is typically much higher than other comparable options) I mean Culvers is comfortably over $10 for a meal now.
Came across this about food/drink at other MLB stadiums. Might be interesting to some: https://www.webstaurantstore.com/blog/628/beer-hot-dog-and-ticket-prices-at-major-league-baseball-parks.html
The Opening Day roster will all be about keeping talent in the system as you will need them this season. Also, Hiura will either be on the team or traded, the team will not eat his entire salary to cut him.
I don't think most people have an issue paying more for food at the park if it is good. However getting the quality of food and employees to make that happen seems to be the issue.
Another great little risk signing. I am sure these offers have been out to Naquin and Voit for a while and ultimately they could not find guaranteed major league contracts.
Maybe Stearns was the weakest link in the front office.
Can we please change the name of the thread to get the guy's name right too? Thanks :)
The revenue models for journalism have died or are dying. It's hard to complain about all of the free news you get now even if there is a lot of crap out there.
Eggs being more expensive has very little to do with wage increases. It's pretty easy to tell on that because the prices have come down pretty quickly from around $8 a dozen to under $4 a dozen.
You still hear about the "4% rule" but I am definitely not going that route. My plan is to have dividends/real estate income more than cover anything I will need it retirement so I never sell any shares. Doing that, I should not have to care what the market is doing for the most part.
People that didn't like Rihanna didn't like her performance at halftime, I'm shocked!
The amount of Boomers I saw complain about the halftime performance while also saying the anthem sung by Chris Stapleton was breathtaking was absurd. Just don't watch the performance if it is going to cause you angst.
Layoffs appear to be happening in tech and on the coasts. Here in flyover country there are still huge amounts of open positions. This may be a regional recession.
My only question with Turang is would he have enough power to be a MLB starter. If these adjustments do that, we have our shortstop of the future in Brice.
No, the number was way higher than forecasted. Pretty much everywhere but Tech is still doing decent. (even Tech employment is beyond pre-pandemic levels)
