  1. I really thought Cadiz was going to be a stud (he still might be obviously)
  2. Didn't know where to go with this but it is interesting that the high schoolers we didn't sign last year all pretty much had bad seasons in college.
  3. Rock went to Clemson (I'm sure you didn't know). Get on the phone and make it happen Bill
  4. We gotta be low balling Knaak or what am I missing? I look at his numbers and they don't scream overslot bonus.
  5. Yep, it's fun. I laugh out loud when people complain about the quality of the baseball in something like this.
  6. I love the alumni game. I've invested so much of my time into these teams over the years and like the nostalgia of seeing the old boys again.
  7. The issue I'm seeing with Miller is people see what the Padres gave up and are expecting just as much if he is traded again. Two problems: 1. The Padres overpaid last year and everyone knows it. 2. He has one less year or control so should be worth a fair amount less, especially when that year is a cheap salary year
  8. Many reports say the team will be aggressive this deadline so I will take them for their word. This thread is to put your deadline trade ideas out there with returns. One rule, if you say a suggested trade is too much or not enough from another poster, suggest specific players for the trade instead of what was suggested. It is too easy otherwise. Trade 1: Luke Weaver (BTV: 2.5-4) for Blake Burke (BTV: 3.5-5) and Brailyn Antunez (BTV: .5-1) Weaver has been a great reliever for a few years and he is pricey but not outrageous. Burke could be moved to AAA shortly and maybe he even be ready in 2027. Antunez is a toolsy outfielder that is having a nice season. The Mets have said they aren't going to be paying down salaries on trades so I wouldn't expect a monster haul for Weaver. The Mets getting two good players for Weaver seems about right. Trade 2: Joe Ryan (BTV: 28-35) for Brandon Sproat (BTV: 25-32) , Braylon Payne (BTV: 12-16) and Marco Dinges (BTV: 1.5-3) The Brewers could use a veteran starter that would be an option to start a playoff game. I think Woodruff was going to be that guy but obviously he is not available anymore. Ryan is a great pitcher that would fit the bill. He also is not a rental so I am willing to offer a big package. Sproat is a cost controlled pitcher that would go right into Minnesota's rotation with a lot of control. You can kind of tell that Murphy isn't a huge BS fan and usually those players get sent out. Payne is a lot more boom or bust in my opinion. I know the tools are very loud but I am not a huge fan of his swing and offensive profile. I like other outfielders more (Adamczewski, Ragsdale, and Frias) We also have two outfielders locked up for a long time. Marco is a guy that needs to be a catcher to have value for the Brewers. Love his bat and think he could be an MLB player without being a catcher.... on a different team than the Brewers. Trade 3: Antonio Senzatela (BTV: 3-5) for Mark Manfredi (BTV: .5-1.5) and Tyler Black (BTV: not putting it, it is way too high) This is a rental. Neither the Rockies nor any team that acquires him will put up next year's option. Senzatela is a good pitcher that is paid a lot of money. I like the road numbers and think he would be a sneaky good get for the team. Manfredi could go right in their bullpen and be cheap production for years. The Rockies can take a flyer on Tyler Black who may be a nice fit for Coors. Notes: MA would have to sign off on adding this much payroll. If we are discussing Skubal, he would cost as much as all three of these guys for the rest of the season. I like these ideas because we are focusing on trading players in areas we have tons of depth. **BTV values were looked up using Gemini Rotation Miz Ryan Harrison Henderson Drohan Pen Megill Weaver Uribe Ashby Patrick Senzatela Hall McCullers
  9. Miller is great, don't get me wrong. I just see some of the packages suggested and would use those resources on someone else. I actually don't hate our bullpen as it is now.
  10. I expect the team to rely on these two vets to help protect the young starters for the rest of the season
  11. Hard F no, too much.
  12. Henderson has too high of a ceiling to trade. We have a couple of controllable starters that we could move instead.
  13. We should be extending Henderson, not trading him.
  14. The dopes get upset when they get called out for being dopes. Feel free to stick around
  15. Garcia went for more than I was guessing
  16. He should be, he hit them better in the minors
  17. I thought I read someone say the bat speed is back and it looks like it from what I have seen lately.
  18. Vaughn needs to be in the lineup. Yelich or Bauers need more rest
