  1. Cubs sign Hoby Milner
  2. We just have to hope that Caleb keeps getting hit at a really high rate :)
  3. You aren't getting Eldridge for one year of Peralta.
  4. From those teams listed, Cam Smith and Michael Harris would have some value to us. It is good that there are more than a couple of teams interested in our guys.
  5. Most of you (not me) wanted to non tender Mears so you should be thrilled
  6. The latest rumors are the Bucks are going to trade him to the team with the best trade package. Zero reason to dump him for a poor return
  7. The monetary savings are near the bottom of the list as to why I want to trade Trevor. I think the Mets would be a great fit and they have near MLB pieces if that is something we want. Getting another starting pitcher or a power hitting outfielder is on my list of priorities. Trevor may have enough value to get one of those pieces in a trade.
  8. Bichette isn't the kind of guy you back up the truck for
  9. It makes a lot of sense that Trevor would have tremendous value for tax paying clubs. It is time to cash him in for a nice haul. I like the Mets farm system much more than the Yankees fwiw
  10. "Though much of the trade chatter surrounding the Brewers will focus on ace Freddy Peralta, who’s a free agent following the season, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports that closer Trevor Megill is drawing interest from an even wider number of clubs. That includes the Yankees and Mets, per the report." https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2025/12/yankees-mets-trade-rumors-trevor-megill-brewers-closer.html Do we trade our closer to the Yankees in back to back off-seasons?
  11. It depends on who you are getting. If it is a pre-arb player that fills an area of need? You trade him. I wouldn't trade him for a rental however.
  12. It sure is.... oops
  13. Find the role for him that will keep him healthy.
  14. Trade: Brewers: Abreu (BTV: 26.2) Red Sox: Peralta (BTV: 26.6) The team gains a nice outfielder with team control. Trade: Brewers: Lugo (BTV: 7.2) Angels: Megill (BTV: 9.6) The time is now to move on from Trevor. Lugo is a nice prospect that we can afford to wait on. Free agent signing: Ha-Seong Kim: 2 years, 30 million. While most of us would be happy to improve on shortstop production, there is still a question at 3rd base. Having a veteran that could play either position would be worth dipping into the free agent pool. Free agent signing: Jordan Montgomery: 1 year, 5 million. I honestly have no idea how much money he would command. I am just guessing but I think it would be good to have that veteran left handed starter to replace Quintana. Overall: We gain more team control while improving depth in areas we need depth. Starting pitching may need to be addressed but I like our young starters. C: William Contreras ($11.10M) 1B: Andrew Vaughn ($7.80M) 2B: Brice Turang ($4.40M) 3B: Caleb Durbin ($0.80M) SS: Ha-Seong Kim ($15.0M) LF: Sal Frelick ($0.80M) CF: Jackson Chourio ($7.25M) RF: Wilyer Abreu ($0.80M) DH: Christian Yelich ($26.00M) OF: Blake Perkins ($0.80M) Utility: Joey Ortiz ($0.80M) 1B/OF: Jake Bauers ($2.00M) Backup C: J. Quero ($0.80M) SP1: Jordan Montgomery ($5.00M) SP2: Brandon Woodruff ($22.00M) SP3: Jacob Misiorowski ($0.80M) SP4: Logan Henderson ($0.80M) SP5: Quinn Priester ($0.80M) RP: DL Hall ($0.80M) RP: Abner Uribe ($0.80M) RP: Grant Anderson ($0.80M) RP: Jared Koenig ($0.80M) RP: Nick Mears ($1.60M) RP: Aaron Ashby ($5.70M) RP: Rob Zastryzny ($0.80M) RP: Tobias Myers ($0.80M) Payroll is 8.13% under budget
  15. Duran and Abreu would be targets from the Red Sox. For the cost and control parts, I would think the team should target Abreu over Duran. Brewers: Duran (BTV: 26.2) Red Sox: Peralta (BTV: 26.7) This "feels" like a Brewers kind of trade.
  16. He doesn't have a no trade clause. Other than us doing him a solid, we should trade him to wherever we get the best return. He isn't sitting out the season.
  17. That trade is god awful. End of round 1st round picks don't hold a lot of value in the NBA. I would let Giannis sit and tank before making that trade.
  18. Seeing how Giannis left the court after the loss to the Wizards, this isn't surprising. Atlanta, San Antonio and the Thunder look to have the best assets in a trade.
  19. Or is this the new market inefficiency? 😉
  20. I think we would add an outfielder before getting rid of one
  21. Yes, if he doesn't produce and stay on the field the team will non tender him for 2027.
  22. Age was literally addressed in the second sentence.
  23. Frelick has vastly higher hitting ability. While age is obviously important, Frelick OPS'ed .883 while mostly being in Biloxi and Nashville during the 2022 season. He also hit 11 homers in that season. Lara hasn't shown anything like that. He would need to gain a lot of power to ever sniff 10 homers in a season which is exactly what I said. I also never said anything bad about his defense which is not the problem. Without the defense, he isn't a MLB player at all.
  24. Marte is a good target but I am not trading Pena for him. The age and potential character problems are the only reason he may be available in the first place. Going off of the trade package mentioned above, put in Pratt as the headliner and I would think about it.
  25. Lara needs to do whatever training Turang did to add muscle. If he gets some power, my outlook on him changes completely. Right now he is a reserve outfielder on a good team at best.
