  1. Eggs being more expensive has very little to do with wage increases. It's pretty easy to tell on that because the prices have come down pretty quickly from around $8 a dozen to under $4 a dozen.
  2. You still hear about the "4% rule" but I am definitely not going that route. My plan is to have dividends/real estate income more than cover anything I will need it retirement so I never sell any shares. Doing that, I should not have to care what the market is doing for the most part.
  3. Layoffs appear to be happening in tech and on the coasts. Here in flyover country there are still huge amounts of open positions. This may be a regional recession.
  4. Yes, the restaurants price the food higher because Grubhub takes a large percentage out in fees and they aren't going to eat that.
  5. No, the number was way higher than forecasted. Pretty much everywhere but Tech is still doing decent. (even Tech employment is beyond pre-pandemic levels)
  6. So that job report... wow
  7. Yet oil went under $80 per barrel yesterday. I think gas prices will go up over fears that China re-opening will drive up demand significantly. Ironically, the bears that have been saying the economy and market would get destroyed appear to be wrong (or they have been saying "it's still coming!") and that will push up oil prices.
  8. Yes! I have caught myself saying "you too" in situations that do not warrant them.
  9. I am in favor of doing a league wide model and offering better options for streamers. Here is the issue: streamers will not want to pay what it will be to see their teams under what the current revenue models. These billions of dollars have to come from somewhere.
  10. I can't believe Gruber commercials didn't sustain it.
  11. What is Stearns' value on the trade value website?
  12. What is the talent level in the ABL? The video of the home run was off of one of the worst curveballs I've ever seen from a professional.
  13. If the price is Mitchell and you feel like it will make us better, you make the trade and worry about the rest later.
  14. Saw a rumor of Pablo Lopez for Max Kepler. Lopez would be a good add to our rotation
  15. If you ever draft a RB in the first round, you do it when you are a Super Bowl contender. To do it when you are likely going to rebuild is not smart.
  16. A RB in the first round? No.
  17. Not saying I wouldn't like Reynolds in our lineup but he just seems like a buy high kind of guy. I think, more than ever, team control and pre-arby guys are going to be huge for the Brewers.
  18. Just an update on my 2022 investing if anyone cares. I invested all of my primary job's salary (before bonus) in the market. I did weekly buys in 4 ETFs. 40% in a Total US Market Fund, 40% in a Dividend US Fund, 15% in an Income US fund and 5% in an International Dividend Fund. I ended up being down 1% for the year after re-investing dividends. I was hoping to dump some of my year end bonus in the market but right now have it in high yield savings accounts earning around 4%. If the market starts to go down and hits certain figures, I will start throwing the bonus money into the 4 funds above. Talking to other people, they said I did pretty well. If you put a lot of money in Tech, you probably got killed. I put in offers for 4 rental properties and did not get any of them. All of them were bought with cash and well over ask so nothing lost. 2023 goals are to keep investing weekly and not check my account so much.
  19. I think Keston can be useful and have a role on the team. He needs to be used in a proper way to succeed however and that was not done in 2022.
  20. I was hoping he would be one of those late market additions that go for less than what market value is to be believed. If he is off the market, shift focus to Longoria on a one year deal.
  21. Thank you for this. Have never heard of Middendorf and we will need guys like him to contribute.
  22. I know many people think he will be gone but Keston Hiura is still on the roster. Until he isn't, you have to assume he will be on the team. (Yes I am aware he did not hit LHP well last year but his whole stat line was odd)
  23. Ha, was just going to quote you and mention this. I was hoping it would go to 4.25% but they do need to make a few bucks too I guess.
