I will use this thread to plug a couple of great books on Japanese baseball. They give a great insight into the game over there, and here, and along the way explain the cultural differences we have. Great books! The author of both is Robert Whiting You Gotta have Wa....based in the late 80s early 90s......more about Japanese baseball and some of its early issues with MLB The Meaning of Ichiro...Not just about Ichiro...chpaters about Nomo and the maverick he was for coming here(made me love him) Hideki Matsui, Bobby V before he returned, This book is more relevant for us. Also he did 4 columns for the Japan Times on how MLB is effecting NPB....good reads on how the old boys club that runs NPB I lived over there and have a great interest in NPB..hence my avatar.

It is very sad that he was killed but what bothers me is the outpoor of support simply because he was good at sports. Seems to me a few people in DC have died without any concern or care. Support him by concentrating on everyone not just him.

Not sure bout that. Though Lilly had a nice second the guy is at 55 pitches and its note evn the 3rd yet. Which means the Cubs bullpen should be out and about soon enough. I'm sure he'll predict a no hitter for Lilly and 5 HRs for Soriano before this one is over. Wow what are you basing this on? You seem to have a good understanding of my thought process.

I know....moment of overwhelmeing negativity!! This team drives me nuts but I just cant give up. Corey has me feeling good again with that catch!

Sure hope something can get this team going!

well holding a lead is something they at least have a chance to do...as oppossed to undoing a lead in the 8th or 9th.

Not to jump on Braun but he was hitting .600 vs lefties before the break and is ONLY hitting .480 since the break. He needs to pick up his game!

Terrace, People are always reachable. No longer do we have time to devote to the tasks, and people, that we should. The ability to always be reached leads to the ability to always be absent. Simply put we spend more time working and away from the important things than the average person did 100 or 200 years ago. I have cell phone and it is convenient but im not so sure it has improved the quality of my life.

I recently purchased the Boss Live in Dublin. Solid. Very solid. I love the live version of American Land. If you like old fold songs I totally suggest it. That and the fact that the boss rocks.

Im sure its pretty cool and all but what is it really doing but making our lives much more complicated? Cell phones have done nothing but drive up the amount of hours we work. I love technology but it seems like it does the opposite of what is suggested. It simply makes our lives more difficult.

I enjoy when the cubs lose! That is all.
