  1. berniebrewer4life, naivin Dont let anyone EVER diminish what you done here. This is very important, and patriotic, work you have done here. I am off to find the nearest social scientist.
  2. Turnbow, Derrick? Edit: Pared back quote... please watch what you're quoting.
  3. Either that or they hate freedom. As a patriot, as an American, I am pro-freedom and therefor pro Brewers.
  4. I think you mean slightly older brothers Milwaukee Brewers!
  5. Sources say the Brewers have moved on, but may "welcome him back, in a different role than before". Fans are concerned about what this will all mean for his legacy. This thought/joke is pretty much spot on. Nomo did retire a couple times already. Most notably he "retired" in 1994 from Japanese baseball only to announce the next day that he was coming to America. It was a rather genius scheme to work his way around the system set in place by the "old boys club" that runs Japanese baseball. That incident, and the way he did it, forced the issue and allowed players to come here. Basically, he gave the system the middle finger and was despised by a nation. Ofcourse, he later became a sensation and was adored by that same nation. For this reason Nomo probably one of my favorite players of all time.
  6. Those kind of comments belong over at the Political board, not here. Just because he's a devout Christian who stays closed on Sundays, does not make him a "weird nut". Good thing you let everyone in on the religious aspect of it then.
  7. The NBA is still around? I thought a champion was crowned via fantastical dunk/body art competition.
  8. I demand that the one of with the most money call ESPN right now and have this game broadcast. You have 10minutes. GO.
  9. Yeah! Those Red Coats arent going to find quarter in my place now!
  10. Need some ideas/thoughts 2 maybe 4 people....thinking about general admission. Should I get them ahead of time, walk-up, or go with a scalper? Is it just left field that is GA? or is above the baggy is well?
  11. Those fruity drinks all sound absurdly awful. I dont get the craze with all these hyper-candyfied drinks. Speaking of which, why is there sugar in diet green tea? There is no sugar in green tea.
  12. Ichiro, Fukudome, Matsui, Weng.........I think those guys might be interested. Beyond that there will be some very good players playing over there that would prefer to stay over there and play on the highest level. If you condense the 12 pro teams in Japan to 6 or 8 you are going to have some very good teams that are as competitive as anyone. Certainly, better than the Brewers of my life time. Also remember, how many kids in North Korea (this is just an isolated example) are going to see a professional baseball league in South Korea and suddenly want to defect, or "hope" for that life. I like where you are going with this but I dont think it applies to North Korea. Doubtful that the lone radio every family has will receive any news of some sporting events in the inferior South from the state sponsored news station. I dunno. I was in China for two weeks in May and more than a week after I got back I was still waking up at 2 AM each morning. The jet lag coming back is pretty horrendous. Jetlag is tricky. From my experience it seems like when you are very busy with work, or meetings, it is not as much of an issue. On the return it seems to be the opposite for me. If you dont have a regimented workday, like ballplayers, it is much easier to recover. I think ballplayer have a huge advantage in this regard. They really dont have to do that much during the day. Add in the fact that every step would/could be taken to assist them and i dont think this is the issue to hold it up.
  13. Food for thought at the very least.... http://www.yomiuri.co.jp/dy/sports/20080619TDY20301.htm
  14. This is really is getting absurd.
  15. Yeah..I thought that was one start that distorted things.
  16. Coming into today: 4 starts, 2-2, 21.2 IP, 4.57 ERA, 21 hits, 11 runs all earned, 3 HR, 7 BB (2 intentional) 14 K, 1 HBP. Walks & strikeouts are down from when he was a reliever, ERA is up. Thanks. I thought it would have been a bit better than that. Atlhough, he did have a couple of bad innings. Either way has done a pretty solid job. The reversal of McClung/Villy has really been productive.
  17. Anybody have McClungs stats as a starter?
  18. Robert Pazzi-Quite Clear to Him http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3125/2552871980_e5f4b071c5.jpg?v=0
  19. I would like to see Portugal win it....mostly cause the English cried so much about them in the World Cup. I quite like the fact that England is not in it! Although, it would have been sweet if Scotland could have made it just to rub it in a bit! On another note, the US starts qualifying with Barbados on Sunday. Gee, I wonder if the US and Mexico will be able to get bids this time?
  20. Either that or they can give up their H2 Suburban Explorer to the Max guzzle muscle.
  21. Im still wondering why no one wears stir-ups these days. I want them back, along with my rotary telephone.
