    They spent the money the day the contract was signed. The only thing worse than that contract is to be held hostage by it after the fact. If they have room to increase the payroll they should not avoid addressing 3B because of an old contract.

    Well, everything went off without a hitch. We had a generally good time which is exactly what we needed. I would reccomend the Chicago Botanic garden to anyone....very nice. The only real boooos for the weekend were the Brewers results and the rented Chevy Impala.

    Thanks for all the suggestions. As for why we probably won't head into Chicago itself... My wife is pregnant so I don't really want to deal with loads of walking or crowds from the Taste or lengthy transit in the event she gets exhausted. And frankly, Chicago doesn't do much for me. We've been to loads of major cities. Our deal is really to do some shopping at Japanese and Korean stores in Arlington Heights/Niles so my wife can get some stuff she needs ( I would say want but that is another discussion). So yeah, I think Evanston sounds a bit more like what we are looking for.

    I misspoke. It is in Glencoe which appears to be close to Evanston. http://www.chicago-botanic.org/ Any recommendations if we do check out Evanston? I thought we may take a look at the lighthouse and the lake. My wife has never seen Lake Michigan, or any of the great lakes.

    Anybody ever been to the Chicago Botanic Garden? Thinking of taking it easy and checking the garden out in Glencoe and perhaps Evanston.

    I feel the same way. He made a perfectly valid and very good point about a decision by the manager and his decision to put the worst pitcher in our bullpen in a one run game. I mean if we're cracking down on posts like that, why even have a game thread? In retrospect, I should've kept my mouth shut and handled it privately with bklyn,Dealing with it publicly or privately is of no matter. The issue is that you felt the need to deal with it.

    Exactly. You wouldn't want to change your opinion during the game because the use of the word "thought" is inexcusable.

    Thus far this has been one of the better starts for a pitcher over the last month.

    The game is on TV here which is not a good sign for the Crew since they always lose when I watch. However, fear not, I have class tonight and will not be watching. It is safe to say that the victory is in the bag.

    The difference for me is If Hall is up and there is less than 2 outs...I hope the pitcher gets something going. If there is two outs I concede the inning. With Hart/Hardy I think there is still a chance.
