    It will be interesting to see how Murph uses the bullpen this game from a strategic standpoint. With a 3-0 series lead, Murphy has the luxury to rest guys who need it. Uribe may be the first sign of the overuse of the bullpen. On the flip side, seems like it could be dangerous to give a game away here. LA could gain some offensive momentum throughout the rest of the series if it has a hit parade today because Murph decides to rest his high leverage arms. A close loss (vs blow out loss) may force LA to utilize one or more of their starters in relief (all hands on deck) which may give us a decided advantage in upcoming games. Not sure there is a right/wrong answer but something that could be applauded or criticized afterwards depending on how things playout.

    With 3 straight games coming up, you have to be smart about how you use the pen. Short leash may mean Harrision or Drohan depending on the score at the time.

    I wonder how many wild pitches would have been fielded cleanly with the old-style catchers crouch. Seems like the reaction time is slower to square up your body on a ball inside/outside.

    Yelich has the 2nd best stat line for the Brewers behind Contreras this post season. Although Chuorio hits have been more impactful. It’s what we’ve been waiting for all these years with Yelich. I don’t see Murph not playing him.

    Agreed, but would it be DH or 1B? Yelich is having a really good post season so far.

    That could lineup Gasser to start gm7 if needed with Miz and Henderson likely getting some innings

    Sounds like Williams will start GM 5! Working the crap out of your best arms seems to be the trend. These guys arms are going to fall off.

    I like the 154 gm schedule. They have essentially added about 2 weeks to the season with the wild card and divisional playoff rounds. I do recall how difficult it was just to make the playoffs when only 4 teams per year made it in. The season is too long in my opinion. WS should be closer to mid Oct. I don't like any of the other suggested changes.

    Makes some sense, but I'll throw another possible wrench in with Fischer. Seems like Made and Fischer are probably the most likely to get promoted next year?? It would be interesting to see how an INF roster of Vaughn, Turang, Pratt, Joey, Made, and Fischer works out.

    Since Made is regarded as the number one minor league prospect in many rankings I've seen and also plays SS, who is the future SS for the Brewers (Made or Pratt). And what do you do with the other. Move to another position (if so where) or trade?

    I do like our chances better than last year, that being said I still think the odds are in the Dodgers favor. Our starting pitching is better this year. which is a plus, but the Dodgers starting pitching may be better also. That being said it's hard to imagine the Dodger's starting pitching outperforming what they did last year (2 runs allowed in 4 games). Hitting wise, hopefully another year of experience will payoff. I feel like if they are to get past the Dodger's, Yelich will have to have a few key hits.

    Starting pitching for the Crew for the NLCS? I've got: Miz Game 1 &5 Henderson Game 2 & 6 Gasser Game 3 & 7 Drohan/May/Harrison Game 4 If they are down to elimination game then all hands on deck. I feel better about this lineup than what he had last year.

    Part of that is good pitching by San Diego. Brewer pen outpitched the much talked about Padre pen. Going to be a bit different dynamic against the Dodgers. Expect excellent starting pitching 7+/- innings a game. Probably will have to win 2-1, 3-2 kind of games to advance. Hard to see how we advance if we give up 3+ runs in four different games.

    Eventually there will be some arm fatigue on there side that we NEED to capitalize on.

    It won't be some arms out of the closet. It will be their best 4-6 arms they have each going an inning or 2. Having said that it shouldn't be a match for our best 2-4 arms lead by Miz.

    TBH, I felt like that occurred back at the trading deadline when the Dodgers got Skubal...but we shall see.

    I'm up for anything! This seems like were on the same trajectory as last year!

    King manned up, wow. If it comes down to gm 5, I expect the kitchen sink from them. It won't matter though if Miz pitches like a Cy Young pitcher and the Brewers play (defense/run/hit) like the team that won 103 games. If not, it will be a long night.

    I believe the way the 7 game series schedules work with off days, Miz could pitch game 5 of NLDS, and Games 3 & 7 of NLCS with 4 days rest between each start. Also, you can't pitch 3 games in a 7 game series without pitching on short rest.

    I hope that Murph doesn't deploy all the bullpen arms trying to chase a win tonight. If it's there go for it, otherwise save them for a better day.

    Thank you for that explanation. I wasn't into the minutia of the details at the time. I just recall the general consensus I had heard at the time, was that what the Dodgers gave up wasn't all that much (and I'm not all that knowledgeable on what they did give up TBH). So, putting aside what the Tiger's were supposedly requesting. Could the Brewers have matched quality of the Dodger's offer without including Henderson?

    That scenario kind of scares me. If May/Gasser goes tonight and they lose, then what do they do tomorrow? I think I would prefer May/Harrison or Drohan and keep Gasser for game 4.
