  1. Why did the Brewers show up to the stadium drunk? At least that's how it appears.
  2. Dang it. You stole my line. I travel the midwest quite a bit and people would be suprised how many different places have a station that carries the Cubs. I've found them in Central Minnesota, North Dakota and this week I've found them in Nebraska, fortunately. I think Pat Hughes is a very good announcer, but Santo, man . . . he's just strange. He mumbles in the background, and if something goes bad for the Cubs he'll blurt out, "Aw gee...c'mon on!" It's quite comical, actually. As for Ueck, I've been listening to him since I was a kid back in the 70's. I don't listen to him as much anymore. But, once in a while when I'm out in the garage I'll turn him on while doing some work. I still love his home run call. Especially the walk off home run. mto
  3. Macha takes Bush out after throwing only 77 pitches in 6 innings. Yet, he leaves Hawkings int throw about a hundred pitches while blowing the game.
  4. How to Chris Carpenter wiggle his way out of a loss? Did he hit a 5 run homer in the 9th? CCCCCCCAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSEEEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Are they going to break down Pujols' swing on every pitch?
  6. Sure am glad now that Macha burned 3 relievers to get 4 outs.
  7. Yeah. My guess is that it takes a lot to tick of Jon Miller. Joe Morgan seems a little thick in the head. Maybe someone should start by explaining to him the meaning of the word "small."
  8. Because both he and Wolf felt he could at least not give up a homer? Macha has done a pretty solid job managing the pitching staff so far. If Wolf gets Pujols there, it looks like the right move.If the bases are empty, I could see letting him face Pujols. He came out the the mound, he should have pulled him. Hindsight, of course. I realize that. I was wondering why he didn't pull him.
  9. Macha makes Yost look like a genius. Why leave Wolf in to face Pujols when Coffey was ready to come in?
  10. All of a sudden I don't have a good feeling about this game. Corey Hart's drive to center was a few inches away from blowing this game open. Now...
  11. Craig Counsell has been a valuable for the Brewers this year. Why, though, is he the starting shortstop on September 14th when Escobar is sitting on the bench? I guess I also wonder why Gamel isn't in the lineup either. I haven't been impressed with Macha this year.
  12. I'm not one for excessive celebrations, but that was great. I wonder how long that they've been planning that one?
  13. No, but I probably said the same thing in the middle of September last year. This team hasn't shown the ability to make a run in the last few months. Heck, they can barely win two in a row. I can't see them winning enough games to make the playoffs.
  14. Padres have one guy in their lineup batting over .270, yet they've managed 9 hits in 4 innings.
  15. Earlier in the season, CV was nearly unhittable. Now, he has reverted to the same CV that we've seen in the past few years: Pitch a couple of good innings, build confidence in manager, implode.
  16. Let's see, in the last week the Brewers have been shut out by a dude making his first appearance, lost a 1-0 Gallardo gem (for the second time this year), and wasted a rare great start by Suppan. Hard to believe this team is 4th in the league in scoring.
  17. Game should have never come to that point. The Brewers lack of hitting is getting disgusting. Hey Macha, show some emotion once in a while. Get out there and get in the freaking umpires face. Kendall and Defilice are giving the umpire crap and Macha is running for the beer cooler.
  18. Milwaukee: 47 hits, 3 runs NY Mets: One dropped pop-up, 2 runs This is one of the most frustrating games of the year. The Mets are practically fielding a AAA team, and, and, and .... ah why bother?
  19. I wonder if any starter not named Gallardo will ever pitch through the seventh inning for this team?
