  1. A prequel bringing back all of the original characters to detail the infamous/mysterious Drazen operation in Kosovo would be great. Too bad they're apparently not headed that route.
  2. I hope they find a proper way to send the Jack Bauer character off the air. I assume filming is done for this season already?
  3. That seems very strange that they'd do that for Milwaukee but not the rest of the state. It still doesn't make sense either way, I guess.
  4. Finally we get to watch the actual good game instead of the game that's been decided for a while now. Is there some contract that they have to stay with a game? Where are you located? We've had the Xavier game the whole time since Cornell came out of the 2nd half flat here.
  5. Geez, will you just drop it already? Um, you asked me a question dude, and I responded. Don't play the "I'm taking my ball and going home" routine because the basis for your argument was faulty.
  6. This Xavier game is just surreal....
  7. Do you still think it's impressive to make the Elite 8 when that happens? 2001 Michigan State beat a 16-9-12-(11 to make Final Four) Clearly, MSU should just take that banner down.
  8. Couldn't find any past instances could you? Did I really have to look, when a Baylor win tomorrow would make two in this year's tourney? (Thanks GB12)
  9. Name another team that advanced to the Elite 8 by only beating double digit seeds? The 2010 West Virginia Mountaineers.
  10. This was episode 13, the half point turn. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  11. This season it's like a bunch of young, inexperienced kids who don't know what they are doing. That may be playing on the 're-activating CTU' thing, but I agree that it's been very noticeable as well. The Dana turn makes the idea that a convicted felon could get a job in one of the top law enforcement agencies with out them knowing all that more ridiculous.
  12. And once again, I could care less about the Big Ten Tournament title. Fine then, I'm perfectly happy hanging my hat on three Big Ten Championships when there were 0 in the previous 54 years. That IS what we're aiming for here. Could fatigue not also play a factor? You're playing a game every other day in the tournament, if you fight as hard as you can to beat a Kansas and UCONN who are far more talented, is it not possible to be fatigued for your next game? NC State had 4 or 5 off-days between beating UConn and playing the Badgers. And the point remains that the Badgers actually won the games. One of those was basically a home game in Milwaukee Against the #3 seed Pittsburgh, the Big East champions that season, IIRC. And two of the last three years they've lost to a double digit seed in the tournament. Sorry, if I'm not impressed with that, if you are, that's fine. I'm certainly not happy about the last three seasons, as I'd prefer to see them in the Final Four every year. But for you to imply that Ryan's total tournament resume is poor or that he shouldn't be praised for his successes as you clearly did earlier in this thread is unfair, inaccurate, and completely absurd.
  13. What has he accomplished? A couple of Big Ten titles.... I should be throwing praise at him for that? Yeah, actually, considering that he's won 3 Big Ten titles and a Big Ten Tournament Title in 9 seasons, when they won 0 in the 54 seasons prior to that. Nevermind turning the team into an annual contender each year in the confereftnce and becoming a high-profile team nationally after being a laughing stock for nearly 60 years prior..... and knocking down a couple mid-majors and a mediocre ACC and Big 12 team to reach the Sweet 16 and Elite 8. You act like the Badgers played these teams in a vacuum or something and continue to completely ignore that by definition, some of those teams got there by losing to good teams. Tulsa beat #4 Dayton. Bucknell beat #3 Kansas, NCST beat #7 Charlotte and #2 UCONN. K-State beat #6 USC, and Davidson beat #7 Gonzaga, and #2 Georgetown. The Badgers were playing and beating teams that had beaten other higher-ranked teams that couldn't actually pull off the wins themselves. You also ignore the rest of Bo Ryan's tournament resume for whatever reason- three times, the Badgers have been ousted by one-seeds in the tourney in 2002, 2003, and 2005 (losing in a very close game to National Champion UNC after "playing a couple of mediocre teams"). In addition, they lost in the tourney to higher seeds in 2004, 2006, and 2009 (after upsetting #5 FSU, BTW). So in Bo's 9 tourney appearances, they've gone out to higher seeds in the tourney 6 of 9 years, including 3 times to one-seeds. Clearly, underperformance in the tourney when it actually counts. The funny thing to me is that if the Badgers would have won today, you probably would have been using their wins over #13 and #12 seeds as another easy road to the Sweet 16 under Ryan, instead of spouting something about Cornell being under-seeded.
  14. Cornell was underseeded. Seriously though, when your ONLY Sweet 16 and Elite 8 appearances come from beating ONLY teams that were 10 seeds or lower, it says something. Yeah, that you're going to ignore anything Bo accomplished to make your point. Other, better teams haven't had that success in the tourney over the last 10 years. The Badgers won those games against lower seeds, and lost today to a lower seed, then you toss out something absurdly arbitrary as "this 12 seed was under-seeded."
  15. Kentucky looked really good tonight before CBS lost interest and cut to the K-State game. Granted, if the Badgers win tomorrow they'll probably try to play defense, which would be a step above Wake tonight just by attempting.
  16. Well, 80% of the country probably lost their National Champion so far today. With Washington kicking the crap out of New Mexico, this tourney is really making up for the lack of early-round upsets the last couple of years.
  17. Nova getting completely dominated by St Mary's right before the half. They're absolutely sleep-walking through the tourney so far.
  18. Lauderdale might set a new record for blocks in a game if this keeps up for OSU. Absolutely sick right now.
  19. Bump. Apparently all the Big Ten needs to do to have deeper runs than a lot of teams in that super-tough Big East is to make it to Round 2.... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif Not to take anything away from the great season Marquette had this year. They were expected to be a very down team this year, and had a really fantastic season.
  20. This will probably sound like sour grapes, but I don't see how Washington, an 11 seed, it basically playing a home game in the first round. It's as far from Seattle to San Jose as it is from Madison to Oklahoma City, for the record. No one would consider that a home game for the Badgers. Now Spokane would have been a home game...
  21. Marquette got a six, but they sure got unlucky with Washington drawing the eleven. This. I haven't watched a lot of Marquette basketball this year, so I'll assume they haven't played defense and rebounded this poorly the rest of the year, or they wouldn't have made it this far.
  22. Spero Dedes is calling the Marquette game tonight.
  23. Marquette got a six, but they sure got unlucky with Washington drawing the eleven.
  24. A 3+ hour broadcast where all of the awards went as expected is going to become problematic for the Oscars, I'd think. I don't know how you fix that, but I can't imagine that people are going to keep staying up until midnight/11:00/whenever to watch what we already know year after year.
  25. It hasn't been anything since he left, and I doubt it ever will be. They made it to the NCAA Championship game in 2002, for the record.
