  1. Just a quick heads up- feel free to continue Packer-related draft discussion here, including aftermath following the picks, but feel free to post general draft thoughts in our ongoing draft event thread:
  2. I'm not an advocate of a big trade up, but at some point in the next couple of picks if Jalen Carter hasn't gone, I'd start to think about it.
  3. Lions doing more smart things. That's a great trade in this draft to grab a high 2nd.
  4. 12, 33 & 2024 1st/3rd. Getting #3 and 105 back.
  5. Texans back up to three...
  6. Two expected picks made, now lets see if Arizona helps this get weird.....
  7. I really, really want to like Brown more. His tape is full of missed tackles, though.
  8. Officially kicking off discussion of tonight’s events!
  9. Per the value chart, the Ravens would literally have to give up all of them to move up to #13. If they're asking, they'd better be offering 22 and a really high 2024 pick.
  10. Based on the now generally accepted Rich Hill chart, 42 and 78 get them to #30, which seems plausible and accomplishes the goal of getting back in. If they give up both seconds, it would get them to 20, which seems higher than they'd need/want to go unless something bizarre happens with a guy falling. Tonight, though, that does seem possible I suppose. I'd only support moving back up that far if they choose to initially pass on JSN for example and he falls there. Otherwise, I'd rather have the two picks in the 2nd considering this draft class.
  11. Without looking for other examples and off the top of my head, the 2018 trade-down to get NO's 2019 first immediately came to mind. Traded back up for Jaire. One of the best examples of draft maneuvering that I can recall in recent-ish Packer draft history.
  12. Probably have to give up the 3rd to get back in the first, even from #42.
  13. Rumor has it that the Cowboys are all-in on Kincaid, and if he's there at 26 he's there guy. What better way could you guarantee getting your guy than by moving up to #13 to take him? 26, 58 and 90 seem like a fair return to do so!
  14. Final draft day thoughts: Seems like a night where a lot can happen. There's a lot of uncertainty overall, and with the board fairly even from 20-ish through 60-ish, I think all bets may be off tonight and tomorrow. My personal order of preference at #13, factoring in the positions I'd think the Packers would look for there and the type of guy they generally like: JSN Myles Murphy LVN This is assuming Paris Johnson and Tyree Wilson are gone, otherwise I'd expect the Packers to run the card up for either of them. Last year, Quay Walker's name surfaced late as a possible option for Green Bay which was obviously correct and based on SOMETHING. Feels like I've seen Murphy's name linked to them in places over the past couple of days, so I do wonder if he's their guy, especially if JSN is gone as he may be. Otherwise, I could easily see them trading back a touch, especially if JSN is gone and their edge rushers are rated similarly and they have multiple options on the board when they hit the clock. Could equally see them moving back into the back-end of round 1 if they want to grab someone who falls or if they feel the fifth year option is of value for a WR or TE (cough.... Washington) there.
  15. Pretty fantastic pre-draft read with this article, particularly the note on 'surplus value' with regard to premium/non-premium positions (and a clear definition of what those are): https://sumersports.com/the-zone/nfl-draft-proverbs/ I'm not a fan of TE at 13 (and wasn't at 15), so I do think this provides additional merit to them selecting WR/edge/OT there instead of TE despite what the talking heads are mocking to them.
  16. It's also fair to wonder, IMO, that if Myers doesn't rebound and play better overall in 2023, Tom may end up starting at center.
  17. Breer has followed up noting 42 is also included.
  18. The more I look towards next week, the more I think White is the guy they take at 15. If for no other reason than he seems to fill the yearly pick that spawns the 'OMG, they could have had him at 45 and he's a reach' stuff, but makes a ton of sense on paper, and ends up looking super impressive in the end. I'm not a big fan of TE at 15, but if they do Washington is the only one that seems to have the ceiling to justify the pick there. I'll agree with those that say mocking a trade down is far easier in a fake mock draft than the real thing, but if they target a TE early I hope it's in the 2nd or after a trade down from 15. Feels like there are three guys that are fringe 1st/early 2nd guys in Mayer, Washington, and Kincaid, with Musgrave a hair behind them but still in that same area- the position could be overdrafted, but I'm somewhat confident there's a guy still on the board from that group especially if they end up with pick 42.
  19. Though I am very done with Rodgers and don't believe half of 'his side' of this thing, I agree completely. This is a Packers/Jets holdup, not a Rodgers-side thing.
  20. While I absolutely agree that JSN appears to be the first WR off the board and would be a slam-dunk pick at 15 for Green Bay, can anyone explain the negative turn in Quentin Johnston's projections to me? Was a guy who seemed unlikely to make it out of the top 10 a few weeks ago, now is slipping some. Feels, like Jefferson a few years ago, like a complete, NFL receiver that ends up getting taken in the late teens/20s and becomes a franchise WR to me.
  21. Well, didn't expect it to be the 49ers, but here we are:
  22. Really hard not to view it as related in my mind. Short of acquiring Moore directly, which the Packers may not have wanted to do, it's clearly a trade to provide more 2023 capital for the Jets to offer Green Bay in some shape or form.
  23. Good point. My immediate thought was 42 & 43, but now having 42 might make them more willing to give up 13. Edit to note that 42+43 equals #17 on the value chart, which is solid. I actually might prefer two 'bites at the apple' this year in a weaker overall draft but one that has consistent talent level in the 25-50 range. Feels like you could get 4 impact guys with 15, 42, 43, and 46.
  24. Of note, McCarthy's initial success in his offensive system fully blossomed after the then stubborn veteran QB who only threw to 'his guys' left town. Curious if history again repeats itself in this way as well.
  25. And he’s not going to ride the pine all season as Love’s backup, so the Packers have time on their side.
