  1. Brats: Ketchup, brown mustard, raw onion, kraut. Hotdogs: Ketchup, yellow mustard, raw onion, sweet relish
  2. I can only hope there was kraut presented as an option to at least try and give them a true taste of how brats should work!
  3. You've been one of Searns' biggest detractors here over the years, so I'm not surprised this is your takeaway. But they're within striking distance of first place right now despite a comical amount of injuries thus far and are coming off a three years and counting string of playoff appearances.... I think the FO is doing just fine personally.
  4. I feel like the history of the Brewer org at least is that the scouting director gets most of the credit when drafts go well, and the GM gets most of the blame when they don't, regardless of who actually calls the shots on draft day.
  5. Ok, let's stop with the personal attacks, please. It's not personal at all. Let me make myself more clear then- choose a different word. Calling someone's idea gross is a violation of the TOS. Don't push it any further.

  7. I'd say the only person that could say what would happen so definitively would be Love himself, or his agent. Anything beyond that is speculation. Thanks for pointing out that we're speculating on a message board. As your post was filled with absolutes, I thought it would be helpful.

  9. From a financial standpoint? Absolutely. One of the largest reasons a team like Seattle was able to make back-to-back super bowls, putting together a crazy good defense was that they didn't have a QB eating up $30-40million of their cap each year. The value of having a cheap QB on a rookie contract is substantial, as if you even get just above-average (non-elite) level play from that QB, you can fill in so many more gaps around him, thus lessening the learning curve and pressure on his play.
  10. I guess TECHNICALLY (and again, through one of his minions) he did sort of refute that by dispatching AJ Hawk to deny that part after they saw each other last weekend.
  11. This post served as a nice reminder of how truly depressing it would be to go back and look at the transaction logs of the last few years of the Selig-Prieb era and see the crappy/washed up talent they were shuffling around and trying to pass off as solid Major League-level talent back then. Lenny Harris? Yeeeeech.
  12. This year's horrendous salary cap situation is the answer to this question. Yeah, the cap issue is a problem...but would the cap matter that much if we moved on from Rodgers. Realistically, you are probably punting your Super Bowl (probably playoffs in general) chances the first year of Love anyway. I won’t pretend to know a lot about the effect that would have had on the cap, especially if we would have been needing to sign a Top 10 pick, but it would have been possible I am sure. If they traded Rodgers now, I'm not sure they'd have the cap space to even sign their draft class as it exists now.
  13. This year's horrendous salary cap situation is the answer to this question.
  14. I think there's a lot of truth in this. I also think it's respectable that, as I noted earlier, the Favre stuff came from Favre, Favre's family, or Bus Cook. Not 'unnamed sources' or a parade of friends who hung out with him last weekend. Favre's issues were aired by Favre, not backdoor channels designed to create a media frenzy.
  15. It's easy to understand if you're a fan of the team first, rather than the players on the team. You've made it abundantly clear elsewhere that you root for players first where the Brewers are concerned, so I'm not surprised that this is a bit perplexing when viewed in that light. But, I'm concerned with stuff like 'I'm here for the angst and chaos' coupled with calling Packer fans 'jilted lovers'. Some places call that trolling, and last time I checked we didn't allow that here.
  16. Because the team and his own representation reached an agreement on a contract that allowed them to do so, while Aaron himself then signed? If that were the case, why would he be demanding a trade? If that were the case, why would he be creating a hostile, circus-like work environment for those teammates that he surely 'cares so much about'?
  17. Perhaps it's because he's made it so easy to do so? He's basically done this with as little integrity as possible.... for a guy that touts his intelligence both on and off the field, he's literally name-calling because he disagrees with a guy? That's horrendously unprofessional and the lowest form of debate. And for all of Favre's faults, at least he had the courage to actually put stuff out there himself or through his actual representation. None of this 'sources within the organization' or garbage from his buddies. Nothing to specifically link back to Aaron. And that creates a breeding ground for the rampant insane rumors that are now completely unverifiable as a result. Anyone can claim to have a source now, despite how wrong they end up being. Meanwhile, the Packers, Gute, Murphy, etc. have gone through this last week with complete class and professionalism, as you'd expect from a well-run organization. Perhaps the fans are smart enough to notice the distinction?
  18. So what you're saying is that 13 years ago, you would have done everything possible to placate 3-time MVP Favre, thus never giving Rodgers the opportunity to achieve those accomplishments, right? You know better than I do about Favre's play. But the differences as I see them are that it had been years since Favre was an MVP. He had been playing at a reduced level for a few years before his last year in GB. Rodgers is coming off an MVP this past season. Favre was a year older (and significantly more banged up) than Rodgers is now. So I don't think Favre had earned the deference that I'm giving to Rodgers now. So accomplishments, awards, and franchise leaders in approximate value only matter when it fits the argument? By your own admission, Jim, not only are you not a football fan, but you actually have questioned the morality of football itself. What are you hoping to prove here?
  19. I think the key question continues to be, what is Aaron's actual end goal here? And that truly continues to be a question that seems harder to answer by the day. In the end, the Packers remain his best chance to win a Super Bowl in 2021, regardless of the plan thereafter. If I hear the words 'he wants a trade' uttered again within an article talking about his 'competitive nature', I'm going to shake my head in disgust, because he's proving that the latter is secondary to his ego.
  20. Is there anything to say they haven't? Solid response I'd give it a B. I should have said 'anything definitive....'
  21. McGinn has clearly been ahead of most when talking about the division between Rodgers and management. It's not like this hasn't been building for years. He also said that Russ Ball was going to be our next GM after Thompson retired. My point is, who even knows where he's getting his info from or how credible it is anymore.
