  1. Heck of a job to make it kind of a game in the end, but turnovers in the first half just made the hole too big.
  2. I posted before the and one!
  3. With the Badgers in the bonus the rest of the way, it’ll only take one more run to make this a legit game. Baylor has woken up, though.
  4. HECK of a run to vaguely get back in it....
  5. Not sure how Wisconsin losing to a one seed furthers that argument....
  6. Losing in the first round to a CUSA team that has never won a tourney game when you basically have home court advantage the entire tournament is the most Purdue thing ever.
  7. Well, that was a great half of basketball.
  8. Really does make you wonder what a guy like Golden Tate (I know, I know) would get. It would seem like a guy like him would do well with Rodgers getting him the ball.
  9. That would be very poor revenge since it would directly have a negative impact on both the team AND himself...
  10. I'm kind of keeping an eye on the wire today, as today is the best day for the Packers to restructure Rodgers if they're going to, as his modestly large roster bonus is due on the 3rd day of the league year. If they don't restructure today, it's a good indicator that they want to keep their 2022 out in play...
  11. I do wonder if Jones got a bit of a raw deal since he was drafted for Capers' scheme then ended up as a bad fit in Pettine's. I suppose it's similarly possible to wonder if Jackson will get a better chance under Barry's scheme as well....
  12. One thing I have heard is that in at least some places, the supply exceeds the people left in '1B' right now (which is a huge part of the reason 1c was accelerated by a week). So, if you or a family member is eligible on Monday, I'd get on the county/pharmacy/PCP 'interested' lists NOW, as there may be a chance they can get an appointment this weekend.
  13. I do think there's a 'Thompson's last drafts were bad' mentality among Packer fans that is largely incorrect, but it's impossible to call that 2015 draft anything but poor. Obviously, Randall never clicked, due at least in some part to whatever his issue was with McCarthy. I thought Ryan would be a solid LB.
  14. Back to New England this morning, apparently.
  15. Is it plausible if not likely that the Lions are doing this (and Williams) to obtain intel on the Packers' offensive scheme?
  16. That is just crazy to me. Why a team like Seattle would even consider trading Wilson. That so many on the org could agree to it. I really don't want to hear any more stories about how Rodgers is a Diva. Not that I think Russ is, but he's been more of one this off-season than Rodgers ever has been. Rumor is (via Dan Patrick) that Chicago offered 3 firsts, a third, and "two starters" for Wilson. He didn't get names on the 'starters'. That's a tempting deal that most teams would have to seriously consider, though I agree that when you have your QB, it's borderline insane to give that up and potentially throw yourself into a Bears-like QB situation where you're constantly looking for 'that guy'.
  17. To emphasize this point above, per Tom S. the Packers apparently added two 'voidable' years (basically phantom contract years) to Turner's deal to allow them to prorate the new signing bonus over two additional years. Crazy stuff....
  18. Just to hit on one lingering point on the Jones deal- if you were told back in December or January that the Packers would be able to sign Jones to a 2 year, $20 million extension, which of us here would have thought that was possible? And who would have been (or still is) upset by that number?
  19. Factoring in the tenders and the actual number for Jones, they're at about -$2.3 million, NOT factoring in Turner's restructure (because there's NO info out there on what was actually done). If that was a restructure of the full possible amount, they're basically at the cap. To reiterate the point above, a Davante extension and a Rodgers restructure would give them $24 million to use on actual free agents, which is crazy. EDIT: To add clarification that they'd need ~$5million of that $24 million for their draft, so you'd be looking at $18-19 million to use on signings...
  20. A 2021 cap hit of $4,475,000, and a 2022 cap hit of $9,000,000. Russ Ball is extremely good at his job. Good, good stuff. Doesn't crunch the cap in either of the next two years, and basically made this a 2-year deal as some thought.
  21. Funny news today that the Bears may need to part with CB Kyle Fuller for contract/cap reasons. Funny in that the Packers were the ones that signed him to an offer sheet, requiring the Bears to match the contract. There were a lot of people that thought the Packers signed him to a deal that was too friendly and allowed the Bears an easy decision to match it. And in the end, the way the Packers structured it may result in the Bears needing to cut him. Circle of salary cap life, apparently.
  22. Answering my own question, it's a straight restructure that frees up $7.38m. EDIT: As a result, Z now has an insane cap number of nearly $30million for next year, which the Packers obviously won't pay. I think an extension is a lock, but I wonder if they couldn't get the deal done prior to today's cap deadline?
  23. One of the easy moves. Curious if it's a straight restructure or if it includes an extension.
  24. Quiet morning and first two days of free agency for the Packers, but there has to be news soon. The RFA tenders and Jones have them several million over the cap, so some moves literally HAVE to happen shortly.
  25. According to Nick Korte, who has been a guru when it comes to figuring out this formula, the Packers should garner a 6th round selection from Williams leaving. That's sort of a bummer, as I was hoping that Williams would garner more interest to perhaps get a 5th in compensation. I would expect some team will see enough upside in Kevin King to get the Packers a comp pick (likely 5th or 6th round). The only other FAs I could see getting anything more than a minimum-type 1-year deal are Will Redmond and Montravius Adams, but I doubt the deals would be big enough to get anything compensation-wise. Yep, I saw the same thing elsewhere on the 6. No idea how one expert can claim nothing, and another a 6. The good news about a 6 is that it gives you the ability to sign one UFA and only lose that rather than the faaaaar more valuable 4th from Linsley....
