  1. Again just IMO, you have to wonder if the Brewers really like something in one of the guys. The timing is odd otherwise.
  2. A little better than I thought, personally. I was expecting the low minors lottery types, so surprised they got two MLB-ready arms. Weigel was their #12 prospect per MLB.com
  3. The timing is odd, as others noted. Arcia did seem to play well last year despite the odd season, and nothing would have changed about their outlook on him based on four games, you'd think. Makes me wonder if the Braves dangled a guy they found enticing enough to cause them to do this now.
  4. Curious to see if this is a Phelps trade-like two lottery ticket arms, or something higher-minors. Assuming it's not a ML arm, but I guess you never know.... EDIT: Actually a MLB BP arm would make some sense if they wanted to even salaries a bit....
  5. Who are the Sogards and Petersons on this year's team?
  6. Done deal. Discuss in the ML forum.
  7. I can't follow this logic at all- isn't Stearns the one who acquired that roster of talented hitters and guys that put up good numbers previously? Yep. How can he be blamed if they come here and don't produce at all? Doesn't that INHERENTLY imply issues with approach/coaching?
  8. Has there been any indication that Shaw would be playing at first?
  9. Hey, you have to clear roster space for the QB the Jets will overdraft this year then dump for far less value in 3 years when he flames out.
  10. Just one point of note as someone else who got J&J, the full effect for prevention of infection was found at 14 days. It was 28 days to reach the 'no one who did get COVID following the shot died or was hospitalized' threshold.
  11. I'm still wondering if Cain is welcomed back into the clubhouse. How will I ever know???????
  12. As owbc mentioned, no politics, regardless of the reasoning behind the move. Please keep discussion to either factual items surrounding the cancellation, discussion of the AS game itself, or possible relocation/alternative options. Thanks! EDIT: Last warning....
  13. The offense will be very hard to give up. In a way, I hope the Crew goes to that sometimes. The offense is irrelevant if you give up more runs on defense because you're putting more guys on.
  14. Ultra poetic that Williams retires after an ugly loss to Wisconsin where they lost the game of basketball skills.
  15. As with anything posted on the internet forums like this, 'insider information' should be taken for what it's worth while acknowledging the anonymity and unverifiable nature of what is posted. That's not a commentary on anything specific in this case, just good words to live by in considering this stuff.
  16. Johnson & Johnson for me. No major issues. Chills briefly the first night, woke up just feeling like I had had 2 drinks too many the next morning. Headache, very low-grade fever, and tired. Sore arm, but no worse than a typical shot. By day 2, completely fine. Feels kind of nice to be one-and-done.
  17. Going from The Wire into Breaking Bad has been pretty great. Heck, going back 6 months my binging has gone Sopranos, True Detective, The Wire, Breaking Bad. About as good of a six months of binging as you can get, IMO.
  18. Yep, it's that way. I watched season 2 in two or three sittings, all 13 episodes.
  19. Good thing the offseason isn't over. And I'd expect Dillon/Williams to wash in 2021. Yes, we certainly could get better with a good draft. I'm not going to hold my breath on that though. Seems like an odd stance to take considering how well they've drafted under Gute.
  20. Good thing the offseason isn't over. And I'd expect Dillon/Williams to wash in 2021.
  21. Good point on Keke. I have little doubt that Lancaster is making anything beyond the vet minimum, but I'll maintain my 'yech' stance.
  22. Well, yuck. Color me ultra-disappointed if Lowry/Lancaster is again the plan at 2021 DE.
  23. Outstanding news. I suspected that it would be earlier than the previous May 1 date, but I'm surprised it advanced that far. At this point, I think there's enough supply to support this.
  24. Sure are. And that works both ways. But what is the end result? Or at least what is the hopeful result of complaining on an internet message board? It seems like people came here expecting everyone to be outraged, then they're surprised and 'offended' when people don't share the viewpoint that this is some sort of significant ordeal for mass groups of people. The Brewers are a business. Businesses can determine how they wish to process business transactions. It's no different than a grocery store not accepting personal checks or a bar that won't take cards and will only take cash. Is that an inconvenience for some? Yep. So what can you do? Complain to your ticket rep or a customer service line. Or protest by not going to games. But in the end, you're going to pay for parking with a card or an app. And in the 2023 season, no one will complain and people will start to forget how it even used to work.
