  1. Early math by people who understand the comp pick formula better than me suggests that the Williams deal isn’t significant enough to land a comp pick, sadly.
  2. Jamaal Williams to Detroit, 2/$7.5 million
  3. Not shocking, as even with fiscal limitations an upgrade should be attainable....
  4. I think (and it's obviously just IMO) you'll see that pharmacies/Walgreens etc. will just open appointments and fill them however they can, while healthcare systems will likely work their priority lists. They've literally had months to identify/prioritize for the larger rollouts, so those lists probably exist already, I'd think....
  5. Hooray. I'm not sure Dalton is better than Trubisky. Or, at least Trubisky has SOME upside.
  6. There is no enforcing, just honor system. Which sounds like a horrible idea. It is, and it's why I've been trying to explain why I'll wait a bit. Primary care physicians could have forwarded people with severe conditions to their HCN, and that should have been the group after 75+ and healthcare workers. Far from perfect, it would be subjective, but at least you would capture most people who really need the vaccine. As it stands, you could have lung cancer and a healthy 20 year old jumps in front of you. I do think the DHS guidance allows for 'carrier-level prioritization' within the group or something to that effect, so it does seemingly allow PCPs to use their allotment in a way that targets the most vulnerable. So, there's that.
  7. Peterson has really, really declined the past two seasons, particularly in his coverage grades. I'm really worried about cost vs. name with him, though I guess if that's an issue the Packers just won't be involved....
  8. People keep saying this, but what is it actually based on? The idea that occasionally a guy with lesser draft status contributes? What about the guys that ARE drafted high that contribute?
  9. It's probably more beneficial for the team to actually have him play out the tender, because the vet minimum plus any kind of prorated bonus probably gets you to a $3mil cap number as it is.
  10. The Packers rotate RBs more than most teams due to their usage in the passing game, and Jones' small stature to keep him fresh. It's not the old days of a 25-carry one horse RB show. Dillon will be a huge part of the offense this year.
  11. I suppose that's the dream. You'd have to be confident that the combo of Sternberger/Deguara are ready to take a big leap forward, as TE is ultra-weak in the draft this year. But a high 2nd would be gigantic to this team in a cap-crunch year.
  12. Yep, I'd strongly consider it. Problem is, teams that are an offensive player-or-two away aren't dumb enough to give up capital like that for a TE with one year of success. The teams that are dumb enough to do it (and, hypothetically, would place the 2nd attractively high in the 2nd round), aren't a TE away. Seems unlikely he'll get an offer now, but how great would it be to Bill O'Brien a high/mid 2nd from some team for him?
  13. I think those points are completely fair. But until we actually see the contract (which, to my knowledge, NO ONE has released yearly details), shouldn't we wait to see if this really will hamper the team going forward?
  14. The thing is, you can be excited to have Aaron Jones back and realize he makes us a better team, and still question whether the money spend on him and the pick spend on Dillon is the best use of our resources. You can be both of those people -- and I'm definitely one. You can definitely do that. Or, we can acknowledge that Gute has a pretty good track record of success when he 'goes off the beaten path a bit' and give him the benefit of the doubt, which I understand that most fans aren't willing to do for whatever reason....
  15. Linsley's currently projected as a 4th round comp pick based on the deal.
  16. Williams appears to be saying his goodbyes via twitter right now. Not sure if he's got a deal in place, or if he's just semi-officially been told that the Packers won't be bringing him back. It was academic after Jones signing, obviously.
  17. Packers are non-tendering Raven Greene, which is no surprise considering the finances. @$2.1 million, he wasn't coming back this year. Also rumblings about the Packers expressing interest in Vikings' center Brett Jones, FWIW. He's really a depth guy at this point and has bounced around a bit/been on IR, but he's graded out well in pass blocking throughout most of his career.
  18. I think there's a dangerous line regarding 'giving out information that was later proven incorrect'- this seems to imply malice or incompetence, when in reality, with a novel virus, things that are thought/assumed to be correct initially often prove themselves differently as time goes on and research is actually able to be conducted/completed. There's a huge distinction there that the general public doesn't seem to grasp, IMO.
  19. Figured it was time to lock the 2020 thread and move discussion re: 2021 free agency, etc. here.
  20. They should get a decent pick for Williams as well, as he seemingly has a pretty robust market. Yes, thanks. Completely forgot about Williams...
  21. The Packers seemingly focused previously on maximizing their comp picks where possible, so it'll be interesting to see how they approach things over the next few days. Linsley and King could both next picks, with Linsley's hypothetically a nice one. As such, it'll be interesting to see if they look at cut players like Hayward vs. comp free agents like Hill or Poole that might be better 'scheme' fits.
  22. Agreed completely. The start & continued rollout of the vaccine has led to a serious decline in both infections and deaths, which is a testament to how well and effective the rollout has been, largely. Obviously, there have been state-by-state differences because of the levels of control the individual states and counties have been given, but the vaccine appears to be doing everything we could have hoped it would do. Rolling it out the way they have as well has been very effective- eliminate/reduce the possibilities of the most at-risk people, but flexible in administering it to the tiers as well.
  23. A vocal minority is still able to do significant & harmful damage, as we've seen over the past 15 years or whatever since the birth of the traditional 'anti-vax' movements. But to your point, you've got two crowds with different motivations- one that just doesn't want it because it's 'just the flu' in their eyes, and one that is truly anti-vax for the usual reasons...
  24. [sarcasm]"I'll reap the benefits of YOU ALL getting vaccinated, but I won't get stuck myself."[/sarcasm] Seriously though, FTC's larger point is correct- there are odd, seemingly opposite groups that are overlapping in the 'no vaccine' part of a Venn diagram. I still think the numbers largely skew towards the group that didn't/doesn't think COVID was that serious in the first place. But, some of the people who took this very seriously are indeed also hesitant about the vaccine for various reasons, which is puzzling.
  25. Obviously, Jones was their priority and they likely focused on getting that deal done, but has there been anything out there about talks between Linsley or King and GB? You'd have to think one or both will be gone, possibly this afternoon...
