  1. crap crappety crap crap crap. Well, it's someone's fault. I nominate Ned for goat of the day, but I would be hard-pressed to argue against Riske taking the prestigious award.
  2. Nice job JJ. Next up: Braun, deep to left.
  3. Anything you can imagine in your head will be as plausible or believable as what actually happened.
  4. I feel a Braun home run coming on. I just hope Weeks and Hardy are in a position to watch it go over the left-field wall from 1st and 2nd base.
  5. oh my god Prince. We have obviously angered the gods somehow.
  6. That a boy, ned! You see a bunch of cows running wild out there, and you pop right up and shut the barn door. Kudos.
  7. Jesus H. Can we just put in our closer and stem the bleeding here?
  8. You're right. Okay, I have no idea what that "final at bat" thing means. Except that it's awesome.
  9. Bah, who cares if Braun stared at a home run ball? That's classier than 99 percent of the garbage that goes on in the NBA every time up and down the court. Or 99 percent of what goes on after any big play in the NFL, for that matter. If that's the least classy thing Braun ever does on the field, I can easily live with that.
  10. What does this even mean? Do they mean the final inning? Technically, you can only win on the final at bat at home. I think this means that we were down to our last guy, with 2 outs in the 9th (or in extra innings). If that guy is out, we lose, or at least go to the bottom of the 9th (or 10th, or whatever). Kind of a weenie stat, I guess, but it's shocking nonetheless that they've won 6 times against the cards in that fashion. That could have very, very easily gone the other way 6 times. There's a word for that... I think it's "karma".
  11. That is due to happen the next time we face a starting pitcher with an ERA around 7.
  12. Nice to see I was dead wrong about Torres being tired... Sweet win
  13. Don't want to get down on Torres here for no reason, but I hope he's on a short leash. He's got to be tired, and he looked it on balls 1 and 2 to Glaus there...
  14. my god... BA just announced that this would be 6 wins in the final at-bat against St. Louis this year. Un Freaking Believable.
  15. If I ever go to St. Louis again, I am definitely not wearing my Brewers cap, or I will surely be shot dead in the streets.
  16. So, yeah... Prince Fielder... not looking like he's going to hurt us so bad in arbitration after all.
  17. Reds have the bases loaded in the top of the 9th... Edit: . Nevermind.
  18. It's some cosmic karma weirdness. The rockies just have our number. I'm fine with that, as long as we continue to have the Cubs' number...
  19. True. Still, I have to believe Doug is a "fool me once, shame on me, fool me twice..." kind of guy. No way does he permit Ned to flush another playoff berth down the toilet. (Does he?)
  20. Ned looks to be managing his way out of a job here. "It's just one game, guys" he will scold us in the post-game presser. But it's one game here, one game there, Ned, and pretty soon you're on the outside looking in come playoff time. You think Doug is going to keep your sorry bleep around if you miss the playoffs after he went out and got C.C.? It's all neat and good that you like to show confidence in your guys, but please make it the right guys.
  21. VOMIT I certainly hope you all are right about this being it for our buddy Guillermo. I'm not spending another dime at that ballpark if there is even the slightest chance I'll have to watch Mota again.
  22. I take it you're not a huge David Eckstein fan, then? I'd like to find out how far I could kick that guy if I got a running start.
