  1. Another thought on the bullpen. That 18 pitch walk ended up being very expensive. If it's a 6 pitch walk and Vizcaino has 11 pitches, he tosses the 8th, IMHO. At 23 pitches, it;'s a defendable move not to bring Luis back out.
  2. Unless Kolb proves he's a 2 inning guy, and indications are he is not really able to do that right now. (They say he's healthy, but you wonder), he's not going to come in to start the 8th. I wouldn't mind seeing a general change from the 9th inning only strategy, but you need a pitcher whose shoulder is a little more stable than Kolb's is rumored to be. However, it's been a real long time since any manager has used a strategy where his "ace" reliver comes in and is not set up to get the 27th out of a game if he is pitiching effectively. I would love to be able to bring my closer in the 8th at times, but that's to pitch him 2 innings, not to have someone else get the 27th out
  3. yeah, i dunno about you guys, but i'm more than ok with not seeing the likes of vlad, garrett, figgins, colon, erstad, k-rod, etc, etc, etc, again for the rest of the year...... They are starting to heat up just in time for the Cubs this weekend, that's a shamehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smokin.gif
  4. Brady gladly let that ball plunk him for the RBI BTW, Webb pays out for the second time in the last 20 games, scary thing is Brewers are 10-9 during the stretch (tonight pending)
  5. Um... Bill, Durrington beat the throw to second clean, how can it be an error on the 2B. That's an FC, no error (since a bad decision by the 3B isn't necessarily an error)
  6. Man, that cutoff throw was worthy of my 8-year old's little league team. Anything decent from Kotchmann nails Counsell.
  7. Bill Hall, leadoff single, finally he's in
  8. One play away from losing a 12 inning 1-hitterhttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/mad.gif
  9. Thanks K-Rod, that would have been an easy DP with a good throw
  10. well, the hit helped break my concerns about "what if he has a perfecto going and this game goes like 12 innings?" Cause it seemed only 115 pitches could do 12 innings... Take away the two extra batters and it would have been about a 93 pitch perfecto, would have had to send him out for the tenth. Right now, ending his night at about 103 makes good sense.
  11. Oh for cripes sake, wild pitch. Need to find a way.
  12. I really think the ump didn't toss Weaver because he wasn't sure he could get out of the mess he was creating (115+ pitches, gang of lefties coming up). Otherwise why have the warning, that pitch looked exactly where Weaver wanted it.
  13. Funny how that works, the DP was right at the knees, the base-hits mid-thigh or higher.
  14. Clark with the clutch CShttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif Though in is defense, he looked in, which means hit and run and Ginter took the pitch.
  15. At least Hall just blew up WIlson, best take out slide I've seen in a while. Counsell should have been out on the bunt that hit him, so I can't complain too much about the step toward second.
  16. 18 K's, game score 96, yikes. If anyone there sees a better pitched game in person, they are very lucky.
  17. FWIW, Sheets has a game score of 88 right now which is a MLB season high, just dominant today.
  18. 10 K's in 5 innings on 60 pitches. That's just sick...
  19. That might have been the spot for Counsell to PH for Santos in the 7th. Brooks is the popular choice, but Rameriz was still in the game and Brooks hits like a normal pitcher against lefties. Spivey should be on the DL, you want to save Grieve for a righty later and I'm not sold on Durrington, so that leaves Bennett and Counsell and I probably would have gone with Craig there and then double switch out Hall or Ginter depending on how the inning ended.
  20. Vizcaino just started paying for his mistakes. $%&$%(*#@#
  21. And then he hits third the next inning, which isn't a bad proposition at all.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  22. Drink one every time Schroeder says they should pitch around somebody, it gets real old after a whilehttp://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/eyes.gif
  23. Overbay is the real deal. SO much fun to watch. Maybe HE can play 3B..... http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif ....... You actually made me check his throwing hand, too bad it's an L.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/frown.gif However, doesn't he have to at least try out an outfielder's glove for a few September games this year, just in case Prince is the real deal.
