  1. Several people isn’t everyone. Numerous others have been discussing for a least a month+ that we’ll have to find some creative ways of limiting his innings.
  2. Let’s be fair with the context here. For a lot of people, that’s been more about limiting his innings and preserving his bullets for late in the season, not about saying he sucks.
  3. Seigler has had some bad luck, but that AB from him did his manager no favors. Took 3 pitches in the zone, including strike 3.
  4. Could be absolutely nothing, but did anyone else notice Durbin shaking his head after that swing and miss on 1-1 to Seigler?
  5. Man, I love Collins, but how are you staring at a pitch literally down the middle with a man on 3rd and 2 out?
  6. Mona’s bat has been better than I expected, albeit in a small sample size. No one will ever mistake him for Ortiz defensively, though. You could do a lot worse than Mona for the 25th or 26th man on your roster. He has never made a single Brewer fan say, “I wish we had Vinny Capra or Oliver Dunn back.”
  7. My thing about Seigler is more that I like Durbin, a lot. I think we should consider ourselves fortunate though that our organization is run by people that are able to look deeper into results than a simple slash line.
  8. I’m pleasantly surprised to see Vaughn in the lineup against a RHP, I thought we were headed for another Bauers day. With that said, Vaughn needs to start hitting again.
  9. Predicting strength of schedule a year out is always a bit dicey. There’s a whole offseason yet to happen, some teams will surprisingly impress, some will surprisingly disappoint, etc. I imagine most would have projected the Orioles and Diamondbacks to be a tough part of the schedule last year.
  10. Lockridge looks more or less like the 5th outfielder that he looked like when we acquired him. His bat has been a bit better than advertised and his glove has been a bit worse than advertised, in small sample sizes. I don’t care much about losing Quintana, who has a minuscule chance of ever even making the big leagues someday. But, Cortes would be the more impactful player than Lockridge right now for the Brewers.
  11. Old pal Luis Urias was DFAed by the Athletics today and is available for nothing but a claim. I don’t know, on the surface this seems like a bit of a surprise. He’s not developed into a huge asset, but he’s not exactly a liability. Some pop, and most importantly, at least presents another option at SS until Ortiz is healthy. If you asked most people if he’s an upgrade from Seigler, I think most would be hard pressed to say “no”. Just don’t know if it’s enough to shake the apple cart.
  12. I can almost see the “Uribe just doesn’t have that closer mentality” that someone had prepped to hit “submit reply” on and are currently holding down the delete button.
  13. You could say that about 90% of his ABs the last few weeks. Tonight overall was actually a step back in the right direction.
  14. It might be Yoho’s 8.22 ERA that gives them pause on that. Or his near 11 walks/9. Or that WHIP north of 2. I dont know, there are a lot of things to pick from. Yoho is pretty far down on the preferred closer list for me until he can start building some successes here in lower leverage situations first.
  15. If a pitcher leaves with an inherited runner on at 1st (in this case, Ashby), and is relieved, and the next batter reaches on a fielders choice, with the inherited runner retired, if the runner who reached on the FC ended up scoring, which pitcher would that run be charged to?
  16. Vaughn’s bat going cold at the worst possible time just about guarantees that we’re about to get a lot more Jake Bauers in the lineup again.
  17. In my head I was sort of picturing as we come into September if it would be absolutely crazy, if all healthy, to just run a 3 day piggyback of some combo of Henderson/Gasser/Myers/Patrick/Miz/Rodriguez and just rest the entire rest of the pen during that time for 3 days and option/IL the guys above after using them.
  18. Gotcha. Yep, that wasn’t a strike. I’ll say that is seemed like the high strike was pretty much open all day, but still not a strike.
