  1. What an absolutely sorry ass coached team.
  2. This team has the talent to be great. But it’s poorly coached on offense and special teams, and that will limit it to being good.
  3. Somehow they’ll give up 3 before half.
  4. Another special teams penalty. My God, Bisaccia. What do you do around here?
  5. MLF is fortunate to have a top defense and top DC. It helps cover up the stank of his highly mediocre head coaching and preparation.
  6. Literally putting your best blockers on your FG attempts might be the difference between 2-1-1 and 4-0. It’s comical how bad they are misevaluating the value of ST.
  7. A fair catch with no punt return which is also still somehow accompanied by a holding penalty. The clown show never ends with this special teams unit.
  8. Definitely a wide open NFC. Detroit is the team to beat at the moment, IMO.
  9. Remember the first two weeks when we thought we were one of the top teams in the NFL? We were so young, so naive.
  10. I’m in favor of carrying 13 pitchers with less rest days available. I would keep Collins over Lockridge. He’s a switch hitter, a little more versatile in an emergency, and his struggles are a little overstated. There were parts of the season that there wasn’t anyone you wanted up more in the clutch. Drop Lockridge and Gasser, add Myers, Hall, and Henderson if available.
  11. Well. If he’s going to be on this roster, he’s going to have to pitch. I think I’d trust him more at home than on the road.
  12. I don’t really care about beating Counsell either. Adds nothing to it for me. Although seeing him celebrate on our field would have been painful. Shutting up the Cub fans and their horribly obnoxious and salty streamers is pretty sweet. I honestly could have done without the L flag at the end of the game. Not a huge deal but definitely something they’ll remember. I would rather it have been more about us winning than them losing.
  13. Same. BA still loves the Brewers and wanted to expand his horizons nationally. I have no problem with that. He’s one of the best in professional sports. Him and the organization are both fine with his part-time role here. It's not like he left us to become the Cubs everyday play-by-play guy.
  14. Nah Porter didn’t call this game. This was Tigers/Mariners. The ump performance last night was about average.
  15. Uribe giving us two innings in length is an underrated part of this win that he is not getting enough credit for. Uribe is almost exclusively a 1 inning guy and has only gone 2 innings once since 2023. But he took the ball with a slim lead and with reminders of last year in our head, he gave us no drama whatsoever, shutting the door soundly on the Cubs with two innings that were low stress enough that I would expect him to be available on Monday and Tuesday.
  16. Game 3 is on the road. I would prefer to keep Miz pitching at home. There’s no great options for LA, but Quintana and Myers come to mind.
  17. Remember that we thought one of the disadvantages of playing the Cubs versus the Padres was that it would nullify a lot of the home field advantage? As it turned out, HFA was EVERYTHING this series. We aren’t moving on if we weren’t the ones at home 3 times. I’m certain of that. These teams are so evenly matched. 9-9 this year I believe. Great to see what we did in the regular season pay off and matter in the playoffs.
  18. I felt so relieved when they got out of it, but in the moment, Ashby down 3-1 to Tucker, one ball away from bases loaded nobody out, was the most dread and anxiety that I felt during this game.
  19. I thought it was a mistake that they didn’t go to the bench for Ortiz with the bases loaded. We’ll never know if Bauers hits a Grand Slam there, or also gets out anyway. I am ok with that.
  20. I still think Ashby will be on the NLCS roster. Gasser is almost certainly not going to be.
  21. I actually think they’re a lot better positioned in part because of what they experienced this series, in the end I think they benefited more from this going all the way than a 3 game sweep. You can’t substitute the experience of the road game hostility that they went through in Game 4.
  22. One thing I did definitely not expect tonight - not one single substitution.
  23. Yeah I agree. You have to rest him for game 1 but I would probably have him throw a few innings in Game 2. My faith in playoff Ashby is pretty shaken right now although he did make one of the most important singular pitches today. Every other pitcher was fantastic today.
