  1. This team has "sellers" written all over it. They aren't going to win the division, and even if they flirt with .500 all year, the NL is much too strong to sneak up to even a 6 seed. Nothing in this lineup (other than the young guys that you aren't going to sell) is worth a crap, but they might have some bites on pitching. Hopefully it's a strong sellers market.
  2. All that stress and toll just to lose on a wild pitch on 0-2. 🤣 As Brewers of a loss as it gets.
  3. I think Abner can. Cruz is really good. Abner might have missed his spot but it was still a tough pitch at 99 on the lower inner part of the plate and Cruz hit it out. Sometimes it happens. It was key that he didn't walk the guy before him.
  4. Just days ago, in defense of the managerial staff, I brought up the point that the lineup couldn't hit its way out of a wet paper bag and that Arnold didn't do a good enough job assembling this roster. At that time you said it's basically the exact same roster that won 90+ games last year.
  5. Serious question, is Murphy scared of having the necessary conversation with Yelich of dropping him in the order? I get that it’s hard and there’s a lot of past and pride here, but my God, it is way overdue. He is completely toast.
  6. My point wasn’t to say that we should have. My point was that it’s a little hypocritical to only boo Adames over his departure, like he was the only one with any influence over the process.
  7. I actually don’t boo or begrudge Counsell either, although I might be in the minority on that one. For us this is entertainment. For these guys, it is their livelihoods and careers. I am not really going to hold it against anyone who wants to make personal choices about their life and career, where they live and how much they make. I hope they will embrace Milwaukee while they are here, and I hope Milwaukee will embrace them. Aside from that, as long as they aren’t being an ungracious jerk who badmouths the city/fans after the fact (see Winker, Jesse), I will wish them the best. Want to be here? Awesome! Want to work somewhere else? Don’t want to spend your entire career and/or life in Milwaukee? Okay. Who am I to say that you should?
  8. Mark Attanasio could absolutely have afforded to give Willy Adames a 7 year, 182 million dollar contract, if he wants to. He absolutely has the means for doing so.
  9. Following your own agenda is literally the opposite of the purpose of being in a union. The whole strength of a union comes from every member collectively working together for their goals. Members going rogue for their own purposes is what eventually breaks a union. It’s not about Adames, it’s about the guys that follow him. Also, just curious if the booing is just reserved for Adames or if you are saving any for the owner with a net worth of 1.9 billion dollars who didn’t want to pay him market value, since I didn’t read any reports of the Brewers offering him a 7 year, $182 million dollar contract.
  10. Of all the reasons we are struggling this year, Freddy Peralta’s name is nowhere on the list.
  11. Well, Adames was still a pretty big loss, for what we have at SS now, and Yelich is now completely washed.
  12. I'm fine with firing the hitting coaches. Murphy isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, obviously. I don’t really care for the two hitting coach concept. Too many voices in the ear — more is not always better when it comes to coaching and quantity is not going to substitute for quality. But the main problem is that Arnold didn’t do a good job assembling this roster. This lineup can’t hit its way out of a wet paper bag. So while I’m good with a new direction to help guys like Chourio get through these stretches and improve, it isn’t going to fix the offense.
  13. I don’t really care about firing the hitting coaches. We’ve cycled through so many hitting coaches over the years and nothing really changes. Put a talented roster together with talented hitters and stop relying on coaching and defense and luck getting you to 90 wins every year.
  14. Not enjoyable for them I’m sure, but I’d gladly take it 10 times as a Brewer fan for the trophy they won last year.
  15. There are some Brewer lineups from the early 2000s that could easily outhit this one.
  16. Murph, Yeli is washed. I realize he’s still going to play because this bench isn’t exactly flush with options but he’s not a top of the lineup guy anymore.
  17. More of an NBA general related comment here, but the East, which looked like you could go ahead and pencil in Celtics vs Cavs for the Finals, is one game in each series away from being Knicks/Pacers.
  18. Depends what you mean by solid prospect, I guess. Organizational top 30 lottery ticket? Sure, if you eat some salary. MLB top 100? Not even close.
  19. I agree with you that the best 2 out of 3 series system sucks. However, we were not having much postseason success under the old system, either.
