  1. Is Angel's zone as bad and random as GameDay is making it look? I mean MLB has a serious problem on their hands. They can't keep ignoring this elephant.
  2. Why can it only be assumed that Love starting in 2022 would have been a bad thing? Sure, maybe he wasn't ready, but he didn't look ready in 2023 until he was. I'm not saying he would not have been worse in 2022 than he was in 2023, this is highly likely to be the case. But you could just as easily assume that maybe the extra year of starter reps made him in fact more prepared for 2023 and maybe he wins in San Francisco. Assuming it just ends up ruining him to start him after 2 years of development seems quite a leap to me. I'll stand by what my view at the time was, either both or neither of Rodgers and Adams should have been Packers in 2022 and the struggles that year were quite predictable.
  3. Truth or overreaction: "this time is going to score a lot of runs, but the pitching is going to be a problem."
  4. I'm sure if we could have insisted on a guaranteed 1st, we would have. The leverage just wasn't there. All the more reason I wish we'd have moved on after 2021 when the leverage would have been there, but what's done is done now. I'm happy that we got what we got. Sucks that Rodgers tore his Achilles about 4 seconds into the season, obviously. Deep draft though, so it's a good year to have two 2nds.
  5. There's no way to spin the current direction of the Bucks as any sort of positive. They finished 15 games behind 1st and 2 games ahead of the play-in tournament. This is a team that we all had championship aspirations for after they added Lillard and they have massively underperformed expectations. Let's not rewrite history like we are just happy to be here as the 3 seed. Sure, there's a chance that they start clicking in the playoffs and somehow go on some kind of a run, but it seems pretty unlikely.
  6. Sure miss the days when we had no concern whatsoever over who we were playing in the 1st round.
  7. Turns out at some point you do need some actual young talent and building a team of old fossils and role players around Giannis every year may not have been the best approach.
  8. Kind of forgot the NBA even had divisions.
  9. If I'm Giannis I'm asking out of this hot mess after this season.
  10. I can tolerate the physical mistake of popping up a ball because it happens. What I can't tolerate is the mental mistake of Wiemer just standing there with the bat on his shoulders with 2 strikes and 1 out in a situation where he just needs to put the ball in play to score a run.
  11. Wiemer you've got to be more aggressive in that situation. Got to. Even Ball 2 was arguably too close to take.
  12. For this year they've got no choice but to try to prepare for the playoffs as best they can, but if it's an early exit, they have to face the uncomfortable reality that trading Giannis and whatever else you still can and getting younger might be in the cards. I'm guessing they'd probably prefer to try running it back more year, but I can't justify in my mind how they're going to get any better. They've hitched their wagon to this core and they don't have the assets to really do much more that's going to move the needle. And if Giannis isn't happy, he might force their hand anyway. It's unfortunate, because you always felt like this group was capable of more over the last 5-6 season. Fortunately, they do at least have 2021 to hang their hat on and always will. There's still enough really high end trade value in the stars of this team to accumulate good young value and try to be back to contending sooner rather than later. Unfortunately in the NBA, unless you find "the guy", there are no certainties going forward.
  13. I don't buy this. They're a mess. I don't think they're going to be able to flip some magical switch when the playoffs start, healthy or not.
  14. Wow, what a rally the last few innings.
  15. Ortiz and Hoskins are teaming up to have a, uh, night, defensively.
  16. Defense hasn't helped. Ortiz giving off 3B Ryan Braun vibes out there tonight.
  17. Doc Rivers has been coach of the Bucks for nearly half a season and does not even have a winning record as coach. That is unfathomable.
  18. Murphy has done a fine job so far this year, but this was not his best game.
  19. If you go back and look at the last two hits, both Yelich and Frelick had plays on the ball. I understand the possible risks, but they did have possible plays.
  20. "It's not easy for a reliever to face the same part of the order on back to back days." Well, particularly when you're hanging sliders.
  21. Look, I know the returns on Chourio are far too early to assume anything, good or bad. But I just wanted to see his first week as a very very young man if he'd look like he belongs at this level or is overwhelmed by it. Clearly, he isn't overwhelmed, and clearly, he belongs.
  22. Just trying to get way too cute with the slider and never came close. With no base open and Santana on deck he needs to be a lot more aggressive than that. These walks are brutal.
