  1. Wiemer you've got to be more aggressive in that situation. Got to. Even Ball 2 was arguably too close to take.
  2. For this year they've got no choice but to try to prepare for the playoffs as best they can, but if it's an early exit, they have to face the uncomfortable reality that trading Giannis and whatever else you still can and getting younger might be in the cards. I'm guessing they'd probably prefer to try running it back more year, but I can't justify in my mind how they're going to get any better. They've hitched their wagon to this core and they don't have the assets to really do much more that's going to move the needle. And if Giannis isn't happy, he might force their hand anyway. It's unfortunate, because you always felt like this group was capable of more over the last 5-6 season. Fortunately, they do at least have 2021 to hang their hat on and always will. There's still enough really high end trade value in the stars of this team to accumulate good young value and try to be back to contending sooner rather than later. Unfortunately in the NBA, unless you find "the guy", there are no certainties going forward.
  3. I don't buy this. They're a mess. I don't think they're going to be able to flip some magical switch when the playoffs start, healthy or not.
  4. Wow, what a rally the last few innings.
  5. Ortiz and Hoskins are teaming up to have a, uh, night, defensively.
  6. Defense hasn't helped. Ortiz giving off 3B Ryan Braun vibes out there tonight.
  7. Doc Rivers has been coach of the Bucks for nearly half a season and does not even have a winning record as coach. That is unfathomable.
  8. Murphy has done a fine job so far this year, but this was not his best game.
  9. If you go back and look at the last two hits, both Yelich and Frelick had plays on the ball. I understand the possible risks, but they did have possible plays.
  10. "It's not easy for a reliever to face the same part of the order on back to back days." Well, particularly when you're hanging sliders.
  11. Look, I know the returns on Chourio are far too early to assume anything, good or bad. But I just wanted to see his first week as a very very young man if he'd look like he belongs at this level or is overwhelmed by it. Clearly, he isn't overwhelmed, and clearly, he belongs.
  12. Just trying to get way too cute with the slider and never came close. With no base open and Santana on deck he needs to be a lot more aggressive than that. These walks are brutal.
  13. The second one was very bang bang. The first one was a clear bad call. Not Jim Joyce/Armando Gallaraga bad but bad.
  14. Nothing says "you suck" for a 1B ump like having an out call overturned to safe and having a safe call overturned to out within an inning.
  15. So imagine when this bullpen gets Devin back. So stacked.
  16. If you project to be a negative WAR player, shouldn't that pretty much mean, by the very definition of WAR, that you aren't worthy of a roster spot?
  17. He's had 1400 career PAs, he's bad, the prospect hype should be long gone by now. If he's on a roster he should be one of your last bench bats and not starting more than once a week.
  18. Ok, but I refuse to do the same for Bauers.
  19. Frelick isn't the guy in this lineup to lead off.
  20. I thought that was obvious, but apparently not. You are correct.
  21. Pretty clear now after 2 games that Pat Murphy was the secret genius behind the Brewers success the last decade and Counsell is going to be a lost, scared little boy on the North side without him.
  22. Despite the homer, Uribe is awesome. About as good as we could have hoped from Hall today. Definitely see the upside. I'm amazed at Jake Bauers' ability to somehow make the roster of MLB teams for enough time to accumulate 1400+ career plate appearances and collect a couple million dollars despite being wretchedly bad at baseball. So, kudos to him for that.
  23. MLB: "Lalalalala I can't hear you...pitch clock? Ghost runner in extras? More blackout restrictions?"
