  1. All these grown men cracking under the playoff pressure and the guy who isn't is the guy who can't even legally drink. I just don't buy the concept that only crusty old vets can handle playoff pressure. It's a certain guy, certain mindset.
  2. Good job by Ross. The bullpen has done the job today. Gotta get some runs.
  3. Hoskins is junk, so this is no surprise, but you sure would've liked more out of Adames.
  4. You'd think it wouldn't be that hard to win 1 baseball game then, but we manage to not pull it off every October.
  5. A completely punchless inning, and it's starting to get late. If they don't get it done in the 8th, they're probably not getting it done.
  6. I'll be glad if he at least gets the chance.
  7. I'm not blaming Murphy for this series by any means, but essentially every button he has pushed has been the wrong one.
  8. We'll be glad to have Hoskins when the playoffs roll around, I was told.
  9. They had to get a run across last inning and they had to escape the jam here without any damage. They got both. Let's see if they can build on it.
  10. It's 3-2 in an elimination game and your HR leader is on deck. You hit a grounder that is botched and you would have reached with maximum effort but you dogged it. When trailing by 1 run in an elimination game. Incredible.
  11. Even so, I'd like to at least just literally win a singular playoff game at some point.
  12. Because they play scared in the postseason. It's like their first time every single time they make it.
  13. Absolutely wild to me that this guy starts over Tobias.
  14. Desperately needed that. Good work Jackson.
  15. At least they got that one. Could have been worse.
  16. A 4.55 ERA with so-so peripherals? No, he hasn't been our best pitcher. Not close.
  17. Montas is arguably the worst option in the rotation to start a Game 2. We'll see how it goes.
  18. If they win, best to stay under there as long as the team is still alive. We will bring you meals and a chamber pot.
  19. I've learned over the years to be a fan of the Brewers, you really have to enjoy the journey and not worry too much about the destination. That used to be fine, but after so much of it, it's really becoming more of a struggle for me. I really hope they can win today.
  20. I really hope we win tomorrow. Nothing about how we have responded to playoff pressure or elimination games indicates to me that tomorrow is going to be any different and that our season won't be over in 24 hours. I certainly hope to be wrong. It's really disappointing to just be hoping to win a singular playoff game because you can't remember the last time that actually happened.
  21. You're entitled to your opinion and I'm entitled to mine. They completely folded up shop after the Mets 5th which in turn made the rest of the series harder on them by not putting any pressure on the Mets' pen. Would be different if they had battled back, made the Mets work and lost 8-6 after a good rally, but that's the opposite of what happened.
  22. Well, they'll be fighting for their life tomorrow, so they better bring a lot more than they brought today.
  23. I mean we cannot outspend any of our playoff competition to assemble a 26 man roster, so if we are only expecting to advance if we can match up talent wise in any playoff series, we had better keep our hopes and aspirations low. I have major, major beef with the level of player that Pat Murphy apparently believes Jake Bauers is when he assembles his lineups, but other than that, this was as winnable of a playoff matchup as we could have asked for. Until MLB starts going March Madness playoff style and seeding the whole league #1-#30, we are going to need to beat a good team to advance one of these times.
  24. The cutesy catch phrases are fine when you have at least some degree of average postseason play to fall back on. When you've dropped almost all of your last dozen postseason games, it really gets eye rolling. At that point it's like, shut up and just win a game.
