  1. Hopefully it's made of something different than what we were made out of the last 5 innings today, or they can start making golf reservations tonight.
  2. If we were to go to the World Series and lose I would most certainly not be disappointed in the season. Oh sure, in the moment I'd be sad and bummed that they lost, but I'd be very pleased with the team and excited for the future. And excited to have shown actual progress. This team has been here way too much to continue acting like the lights are just too damn bright for them every time they get here.
  3. Because it's extraordinarly important that Adames be followed in the lineup by a left handed batter, so Jake Bauers absolutely must start and bat there, I'm told.
  4. Throw that "undaunted" garbage out the window until they actually accomplish something to earn that kind of swagger. It's embarrassing when you come into a game with that kind of a motto and go out whimpering after a rally as bad as they did in the last 5 innings.
  5. Once again, never said he was blameless. They were still winning and he was throwing well when he exited the game.
  6. Nope, just David Stearns' new team.
  7. Freddy Peralta is not blameless but he is not near the top of the reasons that we lost today.
  8. I'm more disappointed with the way the Brewers responded to the 5th inning than the 5th inning itself. It's hard to say that they don't deserve to be booed right now.
  9. Completely lifeless after the Mets' rally. Not really fitting the "they never quit" bill.
  10. 1 for 4 with a single, 2 Ks and a pop out is a pretty solid day by Bauers' standards.
  11. Not only did the Mets completely blow the game open in the 5th, but now the lineup has completely turtled, which will allow the Mets to rest their better relievers and put no pressure on their pen. The whole "undaunted" thing sure aged poorly.
  12. Fair enough, but the unfortunate truth is you never know how long that turnaround will take. Cub fans and Red Sox fans that were experiencing it 80 years ago, for example, never got to see it in their lifetimes. I remember being 28 and watching the Packers win the Super Bowl and telling my buddy to savor it because we didn't know how long it would take to see it again, if ever. Now I'm 42 and still haven't. In the case of the Brewers, none of us have seen it in our lifetimes.
  13. I see it as something that is justified for things that relate to poor hustle and poor effort. Not so much for physical mistakes that happened in an earnest effort to do their job.
  14. Unfortunately you'd have far more money if you had bet on them going quietly in their first playoff series every year since 2018.
  15. Mears actually made the playoff roster? Barring a big rally, may as well let him eat as much of the rest of this as possible.
  16. They didn't even need everything to go right to win this game. They just needed to not screw up a whole bunch of things.
  17. Adames/Bauers/Hoskins respond to the Mets rally with 2 pop outs and a K.
  18. Let's be honest, we'd be doing this exact same thing regardless of who the opponent was. Severino has been more than hittable, we've had numerous opportunities to take over the game and we shot ourselves in the foot. Again. And again. And again. Has nothing to do with the Mets. They're nothing special. It's us.
  19. Lol this team. You had the perfect opponent, completely gassed, and you found a way to screw it up again. Unreal.
  20. We used to have a thread around here called "Why can't Wisconsin sports fans have nice things?" as a discussion thread for the tendencies for all Wisconsin sports teams to choke when it matters, til the Bucks broke the streak in 2021, but since then it looks like we're back in business.
  21. Same old Brewers. Great regular season team, put them under the bright lights of the postseason and they'll find some way to screw it up.
  22. I think it's the game script they intended. They were never going to try to work him deep. They're just trying to win 2 baseball games whatever it takes.
  23. I think being a playoff game, frustrated with early exits and really wanting to see us go deeper this time, emotions are running higher than usual.
  24. Freddy has actually been quite good today. Unfortunately the 2 or 3 bad things he did, he did all at once.
