  1. Been quiet since halftime, but they won't need any more from him tonight.
  2. I had little faith that Lillard was going to step up with Giannis out. But, he sure is proving me wrong tonight.
  3. There are plenty of pitchers who can have successful careers as MLB relievers, who simply cannot and will not ever be an effective MLB starting pitcher. I'm not saying Hall is for sure one of those, but it's certainly within the realm of possibility that he can't be "fixed" to be a starter and at some point we'll have to embrace what he can do rather than changing it. Seems like only yesterday that some of us were adamant that Josh Hader belonged in the rotation because we didn't want to lose out on the next Chris Sale. The best thing we ever did for him or us is to just let him be Josh Hader and not try to turn him into Chris Sale.
  4. Pitching and defense picked things up the last couple games. Now it's the offense's turn.
  5. I'm not quite ready to pull the plug on the Hall experiment yet, but a couple more starts like he's given would be enough for me to send him back to the pen. You can't trot out a 7+ ERA every 5th day and expect to contend.
  6. Don't bunt guys. Ran yourself out of an inning. With a pretty hot hitter so far this year nonetheless. C'mon. There's a reason it's a dying play.
  7. I feel like Burnes may have been better than Hall.
  8. Took some stones though that's for sure. If you're letting Contreras have 2nd for free you're going from a situation where you need a HR to beat you to a situation where you need a single to beat you after the IBB.
  9. Nah, I can let that one slide. It was so borderline. Now if he hadn't called the 2-2 pitch I'd have been upset.
  10. Yep. He's up here to stay. Tough stretches for him were to be expected. He's like 20. Not like there's a service time game to play with him now. In any event, he's struggling but he's had his good moments too. It's not like he's totally lost.
  11. Contreras is the MVP of this team and it's not really close.
  12. Honestly, great win today. You're going to lose series' throughout a season, no avoiding that, but you'd like to not get swept and stay out of those prolonged losing steaks. Nice job doing that today.
  13. Help me understand in what universe that a career below replacement level player with a season .549 OPS ever, ever belongs in the 3 spot. There literally isn't a single worse option in the lineup. Did Murphy lose a bet?
  14. Is Angel's zone as bad and random as GameDay is making it look? I mean MLB has a serious problem on their hands. They can't keep ignoring this elephant.
  15. Why can it only be assumed that Love starting in 2022 would have been a bad thing? Sure, maybe he wasn't ready, but he didn't look ready in 2023 until he was. I'm not saying he would not have been worse in 2022 than he was in 2023, this is highly likely to be the case. But you could just as easily assume that maybe the extra year of starter reps made him in fact more prepared for 2023 and maybe he wins in San Francisco. Assuming it just ends up ruining him to start him after 2 years of development seems quite a leap to me. I'll stand by what my view at the time was, either both or neither of Rodgers and Adams should have been Packers in 2022 and the struggles that year were quite predictable.
  16. Truth or overreaction: "this time is going to score a lot of runs, but the pitching is going to be a problem."
  17. I'm sure if we could have insisted on a guaranteed 1st, we would have. The leverage just wasn't there. All the more reason I wish we'd have moved on after 2021 when the leverage would have been there, but what's done is done now. I'm happy that we got what we got. Sucks that Rodgers tore his Achilles about 4 seconds into the season, obviously. Deep draft though, so it's a good year to have two 2nds.
  18. There's no way to spin the current direction of the Bucks as any sort of positive. They finished 15 games behind 1st and 2 games ahead of the play-in tournament. This is a team that we all had championship aspirations for after they added Lillard and they have massively underperformed expectations. Let's not rewrite history like we are just happy to be here as the 3 seed. Sure, there's a chance that they start clicking in the playoffs and somehow go on some kind of a run, but it seems pretty unlikely.
  19. Sure miss the days when we had no concern whatsoever over who we were playing in the 1st round.
  20. Turns out at some point you do need some actual young talent and building a team of old fossils and role players around Giannis every year may not have been the best approach.
  21. Kind of forgot the NBA even had divisions.
  22. If I'm Giannis I'm asking out of this hot mess after this season.
  23. I can tolerate the physical mistake of popping up a ball because it happens. What I can't tolerate is the mental mistake of Wiemer just standing there with the bat on his shoulders with 2 strikes and 1 out in a situation where he just needs to put the ball in play to score a run.
