    He’s the perfect OC. He’s a very smart X’s and O’s guy that knows offensive football, and is creative, although sometimes too cute. But HC is different, and when you ask him to make a decision in the next 5 seconds, he freezes up. It’s just not his strong point. Unfortunately, it’s a really bad trait for your HC to have in huge games. In games, he’s playing checkers too often and not thinking ahead. The last drive was a textbook example of that. A coach who makes good in game decisions already knew exactly what his next move would be based on the down and distance of the 4th down. Again, he wasn’t thinking ahead. They got stuffed for a 2 yard loss and he was standing there with a “Oh crap, now what?” look on his face.

    The number of “that can’t happen” we’ve heard from MLF this season is nauseating. What can’t happen is repeatedly having to sheepishly explain that something that did happen during a game can’t happen. Do better at in-game communication and instinctive decision making so you don’t have to keep returning to the podium with that statement. MLF has said numerous times that he makes decisions with “his gut”. Maybe try, I don’t know, trying to think ahead a little bit during the game instead?

    Wow. I expect heavy money on Philly to push that to at least 5 by kickoff.

You needed 2 points with one minute left in the game to win. The opposing team had 1 timeout. How were you not on the same page with your special teams coach regarding the range of your kicker? How had you not discussed that with him prior to 4th down? “That can’t happen” but it did, Matt, it did.

    Some NFL head coaches have an assistant with no other purpose than to help manage clock decisions. I don’t know if it’s because of pride or what that he doesn’t have one, but he needs one. He’s hurt the team on numerous occasions with poor clock management. And it’s not a good look at all that MLF and Bisaccia weren’t on the same page on how close they needed to get to try McManus.

    You’re completely kidding, right? I can’t believe someone is going to defend that atrocity. It’s called proactive thinking, the best NFL coaches know before that 3rd down play even happens what their max range is that they’re willing to try based on the conditions and direction. They aren’t staring at their special teams coach like a deer in the headlights trying to figure it out on the fly. You don’t get to “think about it”. That decision needs to be known before the snap. Unless you want to give them enough time to drive back down the field and win it, which is exactly what they did. And even if they wanted to “think about it”, they still could have run more time off the clock before going for it on 4th. All they needed to do was get another 10-15 yards and they’re well in comfortable range. 50 seconds is a lifetime of seconds on the clock in the NFL to come back when all you need is 3. Even Matt admitted he screwed the pooch.

    Matt Lafleur calling a timeout with 54 seconds left before our FG was an egregious, fireable offense and no one is talking about it. It cost us the game. One of the absolute worst clock management mistakes I’ve ever seen.

    If we lose this game, people aren’t recognizing what an egregiously awful timeout and clock management that that was by MLF.

    Why would you call timeout? How stupid can you possibly be with clock management? You still have no shot if you miss, and now you’ve given the Bears a free timeout if you make it?

    The Malik Willis we’ve seen today is much closer to the one I anticipated seeing earlier this season.

    That was a pretty Bears thing to do.

    Can always count on the Packer defense folding like a cheap tent in a stiff breeze when they need to make a stop to get the offense the ball back late in a game.

    Can your boys put us in a decent spot on one single kickoff today, Bisaccia? Just one?

    If nothing else, can stop hearing the nonsense after today about benching Love for Malik.

    Philly must be terrified to face this jaggarnaut next week.

    My expectations for this team in the last 8 days have gone from hoping for a Super Bowl run to just hoping we don’t embarrass ourselves too much in the course of our one and done game next week.

    Yeah, the Packers RB depth after Jacobs is not much to speak of. They’ve benefited from excellent run blocking today.

    Definitely an assignment was missed there but wasn’t exactly the most awareness shown by Malik on the play.

    One sack against this offensive line is not good enough.

    Don’t even watch the first quarter if you missed it. So much for that nice clean that MLF wanted today. Deficit is only 14-13 at half because the Bears are actual dogwater. Any start like this next week and it’ll be a quick one and done regardless of opponent.

    If they beat Philly and then lose a close one to Minnesota or Detroit, it’s hard to say the season wasn’t successful. We just didn’t improve as much as Detroit or Minnesota, but their improvement is out of our control.

    He’s nowhere close to the top 3 anymore. Watt, Garrett, Parsons ,Nick Bosa, Crosby, Travon Walker, are all getting chipped more and getting to the QB more. I never understood the “chipped” argument because they’re all in the same boat. It’s not like teams have spent the last 7 years deciding they’ll just try to block TJ Watt one on one.
