  1. Yeah, this was the biggest difference for sure. May had many Sproat like scenarios today where Sproat often completely falls apart. May didn’t,
  2. No, you start him in the outfield and start Bauers or Vaughn at DH and the other at 1st.
  3. All in all, good results today. But as it stands he’d be firmly behind Miz, Harrison and Henderson in the playoff pecking order for me.
  4. Chourio looks good. Even his outs have been loud ones lately.
  5. I think we should at least increase the challenges to 3. I think that’s a fair compromise. Or two plus an extra for the 9th only.
  6. That’s the problem with losing one early. Your guys are going to be gun shy (well, except Sanchez.) no one wants to be the one to burn the last team challenge in the 5th inning. (Well, except Sanchez)
  7. I don’t think he looks bad. I just think there are clearly improvements and adjustments to be made.
  8. You don’t see guys strike out on 1 strike very often.
  9. Does this umpire just hate Lara for some reason? Brutal.
  10. Better inning. I hope his command improves going forward but as others have said if he can give us 6 innings today only allowing the 2, you’ll take it. Either way, today doesn’t define the rest of his season - he just got here. Gotta give it some time.
  11. I was going to make that comparison but people aren’t going to like it. Very Sproat-like outing. You can see the stuff but the command is very spotty and you better get some good defense behind you or you’re going to be in trouble.
  12. Sure, you’d take that result but the process of how things went today won’t get to that result every time. Can’t count on getting bailed out by two web gems every time or this could be looking ugly.
  13. Not a great Brewer debut by May. You can see the stuff when it’s on, but too inefficient and not good enough on command.
  14. Oh that’s such a huge play by Turang. It’s not just the outs. It’s the fact that he probably kept 10-15 pitches or more off of May’s arm. That gets by, still 1 out and you’re near 40 pitches at 1 and a third innings and workload and pitch count becomes an early concern on a day when you probably have 3 relievers unavailable or practically unavailable.
  15. Your daily reminder that Jackson Chourio is in fact good.
  16. Really Mangum should have been struck out and picked off, too. Don’t think he’ll be throwing any complete game shutout but there is a lot to work with here.
  17. May should have two strikeouts. Another absolute dogwater homeplate umpire.
  18. The Chicago White Sox are currently the number 2 seed in the AL with the inside track for a bye to the ALDS with a record of 59-54. Is it too late to change our minds and move back to the American League?
  19. Sir we never root for the Cubs to win . in all seriousness I do understand your point , and yes there was a silver lining either way.
  20. Harrison is the story of the day, no doubt about it. The offense didn’t do a ton, but what they did do they bunched together to make it matter.
  21. Color commentator: “If I were a reliever I’d just want to blow gas all the time,”
  22. We have an option for countering that and we’ve passed on it at least 5 times tonight.
