  1. I need to reiterate the last post as Piniero nails a 59 yarder. Kickers are so damn good these days. You stick a 60 yarder in front of most kickers these days and they’re like “yeah that’s fine I got this.”
  2. Yup. Don’t be afraid of it. Lean into it. Two huge regional rivals who have never met in the playoffs before. Former manager on their side and a tightly contested season series. Baseball doesn’t get better than this. Go play your game and earn it.
  3. The Reds incredibly brought the tying run to the plate in the 8th, but the miracle salami did not come to fruition from TJ Friedl, who stared at a bases loaded 3rd strike instead. It's normally hard to be disappointed with a 2 run inning, but when you really needed 6, well….
  4. The Reds, trailing the Dodgers 3-2, had the bases loaded with nobody out in the 6th, and got no runs. Nada. And that is most likely the inning they are going to get to think about for the next 6 months.
  5. One of the Dodgers or Phillies will not be participating in the NLCS. So there is that.
  6. Yeah I was hoping the randomness of L.A in a 3 game serious might allow for some craziness to see them shown the door early, but that is just not going to happen.
  7. I'm definitely not wishing for the Cubs, and it’s going to suck having so many Cub fans in Milwaukee (although Wrigley will also be infiltrated with Brewer fans like they were in Game 163 in 2018), but we haven’t had a losing record at home against the Cubs since 2018. Being the home team is still a big advantage. Batting in the bottom of the inning allows you to have last crack and know what you need to win and play for it. It’s a big part of HFA.
  8. I know it’s asking a lot, but MLF could also just be better at managing the clock. I don't think we should have to base our strategic game decisions on our head coaches’ poor clock management skills.
  9. I could see it if it’s basically a walk off decision where they won’t have a chance to answer, late in the season where you have a better idea of what you need and a benefit of a tie outweighs the risk of a loss. Other than that I think 2 will pretty much be default.
  10. I’m assuming if two TDs occurs in practice, the second team scoring is going for two every time. I’m definitely not leaving it up to a 3rd possession with no chance to match if I can help it, especially when a 20-25 yard drive puts you in FG range in the modern kicker era.
  11. On the surface, with the new OT rules, deferring in OT makes all the sense in the world - you know what you need. But the 10 minute time period adds a wrinkle that makes it a little trickier than that. A very long, slow sustained drive by one team can eat up most of OT.
  12. Also, no matter how many things he has to focus on, no one should have had to tell Matt Lafleur at the end of the first half that he was being a moron. There’s far too much game managing with pride and emotion and not your brain and common sense. Not his first time that you can say that, not even close. You are a professional NFL head coach. Be better.
  13. I honestly think Bisaccia being the assistant HC probably makes him a worse ST coordinator. When he was just the ST coordinator, ST did improve from Maurice Drayton. But in the dual role, he’s been a disaster. If his main gig as Assistant HC is to help manage in-game situations, he’s obviously horrible at that too. If he must be kept, just reduce his role back to ST coordinator. Get a guy for Matt to help him manage the clock and that needs to be his only role with the team. Having that guy be a 65 year old dude who already has to worry about other stuff is just stupid and it’s not working.
  14. I feel no differently than after a loss, frankly. Maybe you go into Detroit and come out with a tie you feel ok about it. Nothing to feel good about today other than Love played well. It felt like a vintage Aaron Rodgers heyday game where the QB had to do everything when the supporting cast did nothing. We won’t have to try to figure out any tiebreakers this year. Take that consolation for what it’s worth I guess.
  15. The kicker on that last drive was that Dallas had no timeouts left. So even if you feared kicking a FG with clock left, you had full control of that situation once it got under a minute. If you even get to 3rd down and run the ball with under 50 defends left, they’re not going to be able to get the ball back. A touchdown ends the game regardless of when it is scored. Their approach was inexplicable.
  16. He’s always pointing the finger at himself and saying he made the mistake. He’s great at admitting his mistakes. Learning from them, not so much.
  17. Friendly reminder that MLF gave Rich Bisaccia the assistant head coach title to assist him with in game clock management. So the young clueless idiot and old clueless idiot simply work together to be bad at clock management.
  18. If he doesn’t know the rules, he should be fired for that alone. It would be inexplicable for an NFL head coach to not be familiar with NFL overtime rules.
  19. MLF is a freaking terrible head coach. Not average, not bad, terrible. How do you mismanage 4 minutes of play clock so poorly when a TD ends the game that you don’t even give yourself a chance to win?
  20. Nixon was just standing there in the end zone. He literally gave up on the play.
  21. Absolutely nothing from the 47 million dollar man tonight.
  22. These play calls are just useless. lol. Take a freaking shot. You’ll lose in OT anyway.
  23. No one wants to hear this, but remember Jerry Jones saying Micah let them down a lot, they never won anything with Micah? He wasn’t wrong.
  24. Who would have thought that going into the season with Nixon, Valentine and Hobbs as our top corners wasn’t a recipe for success?
  25. Hey, might not have to worry too much about losing our DC.
