  1. Well I had a nice conversation with an insider today and Rocket City is going to stay with the Angels for a long time. I heard 30 year contract and both parties are amenable. I also heard that the teams that are going to be contracted already know. MLB asked every team if they wanted to stay with their current affiliates and to basically put out their ideas for good fits they would like to see. Basically MLB wants minor league teams that will invest in the business and player side of it. IE good locker rooms, facilities, etc. and to not let their stadiums rot away.
  2. Well I'm selfish, so let's see Brewers in Nashville and AA Rocket City. That would be a lucky draw personally.
  3. I would much rather see something classic in a Drive-In versus a new movie. If it is something new, I want to have that theater experience with sound and lighting and the whole works. The Drive In is nice to share a moment with people. You can talk if you like, you can get out of your car to walk to get snacks and still hear/see the screen (the ones I've attended), etc.
  4. Another point that is true for me. I'm 6'4", so every inch of leg room is noticed. I have had no issues with the size of Southwest seats on any plane. I cannot say the same for the other carriers at all. Delta does seem to be the better option there too with just enough leg room in basic.
  5. "I personally try to avoid "Southworst." I give them credit for friendly staff, but I dislike their higher prices and that my flights are nearly always 30+ minutes late." This is interesting to me because I have not heard this very often. I love Southwest for pretty much the exact opposite opinions. They tend to consistently be the best value, on time, I love their boarding system and friendly attitudes from ticketing, gate personnel, flight attendants, etc. I hate how the other large airlines play games with pricing to appear cheaper and then nickel and dime you with paying for seats, baggage, regular beverage service, etc. I also was spoiled the past 5 years because I lived close to BWI which is a Southwest hub and easily the best option to get to Milwaukee on a direct flight. I flew regularly for work and Southwest usually ended up being the cheapest and fastest option for me to get to my main destination of Phoenix, 5 hours direct from BWI. Now that I am in Huntsville, Southwest is still a strong player for me out of Nashville even though it's 2 hours away. I actually had them booked for a flight to Pittsburgh this year because the flight was direct and over $200 cheaper. Factoring in time, gas and parking I was still saving over $100 and about 3 hours travel time each way. They also offer direct flights to Milwaukee which is great for my family as its easier to travel with small children in the car and a quick flight instead of dealing with airport connections. I can only remember one flight that was delayed for me due to a mechanical issue. The gate did a quick rebook to the next flight through Midway and they held up that connecting flight by 5 minutes to make sure we all caught it. An interesting thing I saw with Southwest is that they have a lot of emergency ticketing support when needed. During this mechanical rebook, I saw ground guides and baggage handlers man the computers to rebook people quickly. It is usually the opposite with other airlines who have long queues and angry people all stewing in line together. Just my personal opinion and experience I would rate my top experiences/options for the major airlines as Southwest, Delta, United, American. American takes the cake for the most consistently delayed and worst experience with staff and overall enjoyment. It is also fair to acknowledge where you travel from and to matters a lot since some routes are dominated by certain airlines. Right now I'm tied to Delta since its a 30-40 min hop to Atlanta. American a second option with a short flight to their hub in Charlotte. Huntsville Airport is courting Southwest openly and I hope that deal is made. Easily the best airport I have ever used and I would love more flight options.
  6. True, but are those businesses willing to pay an above market rate for endorsements just so their alma mater can benefit? I honestly don’t know, but I think it’s more likely to happen in the football-rabid South. Its all going to come down to who wants to help their chosen school. Its a great way to hide booster money, which is what the original intent of the Tuscaloosa dealership comment is about. It is already the worst kept secret that a lot of top players are getting paid down here. To the point where its accepted in conversation and not talked about as a conspiracy elsewhere. Now you can flat out make your payments and claim "advertising" as the source. You also have to remember that the school owns the rights to the college images/jersey so if an advertiser wants to use the logo the school has to sign off on that and get a taste. This only opens up further questions because the appearance is that the school is involved in the payment for likeness to the player. One question I have not seen is the use of agents. At this point I believe they are still illegal to sign with as a college player until after you are done and moving on to the next level. Are we now going to let players sign with agents to handle their endorsements, social media deals, etc?
  7. Over here, after policy was announced all we did was ask for one while checking our options. If someone is calling up angry to the ticket department, that person should probably settle down and evaluate their own actions. Not the way to handle customer service who are just doing their jobs with the information they are given. If you're upset with policy then play your game to those that can actually affect it. I have no problem at all with the way the Brewers are handling this. Of course they want to keep the tickets sales and offer credit. You make it sound like they want the money and not provide the entertainment. How many people who are upset even checked with the ticket department prior to taking up arms? I'm guessing not many at all because they would already have processed their refund and kept on living their lives.
  8. I'll second that thought. I think it is a bit of overreaction. I get the argument, but I'm with you Snapper.
  9. I dislike the split between opening day and other March/April games. I bought tickets for opening day specifically because I was travelling for that event. I cant do that at all right now or later this year. Since I live in the South, the only option for me is refund. If I have to take a credit, I will basically be forced to give my tickets away to family in the area. Good for them, bad for me.
  10. No decision has been made, even though I agree. Anyone know what the staffing situation is for the Brewers? Who is and is not still working? I'm genuinely curious.
  11. I have about $2400 in tickets locked up for all of my different plans (not just Brewers). I am thankful that I'm not in a spot where I need that money to live week-to-week during this period. I'm fully confident that the organization will do right by the fans when the announcements are official.
  12. I'm not having the Kmet pick since the TE room will be thinned quickly. I really wanted a trade down and/or grab some DBs.
  13. I could see SF go Kinlaw and getting a WR later.
  14. Yea don’t get it unless SF convinced TB that another team was going to move into that spot. I can get behind this since Wirfs was the last of the big 4 OL available. Wouldn't surprise me if someone like Miami was working it. I'm chatting with my buddy who is a Dolphins fan and he was all about Wirfs with the second 1st rd pick.
  15. It's hard to hate on Ruggs over Lamb/Jeudy. All depends on the role intended, team style, etc. Hard to argue with Ruggs skillset though.
  16. I "missed" the first 5 picks putting the kid to sleep. Hasn't picked up much since then. A trade would be nice.
  17. I'm not in agreement. I think that probably belongs to Tua. I am not a fan at all of what I have seen from him. I watch his "highlight" plays and most of it is superior talent at the skill positions making plays. Arm looks to be average at best which doesn't even take into account his injury history. I think Herbert has the ability to be the best QB out of this draft and is in a good position to succeed while waiting behind Taylor. While Burrow had a great year, I'll be curious to see how he moves forward likely being the starter day 1.
  18. Jefferson just looks to me like the kind of player that goes higher than expected and wouldn't surprise me to see him go top 15 with SF/Oak or Dolphins at 18. I can't wait to see how this unfolds tonight
  19. I agree on both accounts. Graduation is not really that big of a deal for high school to me personally, but my focus was always on college and that graduation was much more special to me personally. My family was all into my high school graduation and I also imagine that is similar for a lot of people. Especially when you consider the circumstances of some families. The student may have triumphed over some personal issues, first in family to graduate high school, etc. I would like to see something done for the seniors and families that want one.
  20. I have been doing a lot of yard work. Being in Alabama, this period has coordinated perfectly with the spring weather. So lots of landscaping and projects we wanted to do have been expedited with the extra time at home. Normally the wife would have the weekends booked with kid activities. Patching and staining the deck this weekend hopefully.
  21. I saw that the extra year does not guarantee any support for those coming back. So college seniors may not have a scholarship waiting for them if they do try to take that leverage. Interesting wrinkle to the drama.
  22. I have seen the same as OldSchoolSnapper in terms of transcending age. Not to get too political, but the lines amongst my friends/family tend to be similar to how you vote and where you get your news.

  24. I am not in love with Fromm by any means. Georgia really struggled when he was forced to make plays. I also don't like that Georgia is stacked with talent and he couldn't shine when it counted. I'm curious to see how he does going forward, but I'll take the odds of failure for QBs in this one. I may be a bad evaluator of talent, but I also dislike Tua. Fromm and Tua are both surrounded by 5 star talent up and down the line of scrimmage and in most games the talent levels are not comparable with their opponents. This is not everything in a game, but it gives them a big advantage from the start. Tua was able to produce, but when I watch his highlight reel I see the Alabama OL dominating and the WRs making great plays/breaks to get open. He will not have those big gaps in the NFL. Fromm had similar talent and could not deliver. QB success is such a crap shoot and both could find a pairing with a perfect OC/system and supporting cast to succeed. We will see in the near future.
  25. You can argue that and it is a proper question to ask. I would argue the use of the term "over the top" and "fear mongering" is a bit biased in this situation, but that is my personal stance. That's where the screening process helps out and the medical professionals can make that "simple" diagnosis, test if warranted and then send them on their way. Coupled with an isolation/quarantine regime should help stop further spread even if you will test positive with mild or asymptomatic response. I was talking more about the severe cases that tie down the full resources of a hospital such as requiring a bed and advanced care such as ventilators and other materials. As a population we know that we can help stop the spread of this thing by isolation. This means that whatever percentages we are dealing with (% infected, serious reaction or mortality rates) will create smaller numbers of cases required to take up these precious resources. Even a small tick upward from our current posture would be bad news for many regions of the country on their medical resources.
