  1. Jayson Stark speculates the Tigers may try to move him if they are out contention. What would be a good offer for Verlander. The tigers have plenty of holes. Hart, Jeffres, +?
  2. They still have major holes on offense. LF, CF. Avg players locked in at 2nd & 1st. They need Franceour to rebound big time in RF.
  3. Sign Hinkse & Durham(back-up/Weeks insurance). Look into trading Hart for SP. If Hart traded then go after Abreu or Dunn. With Hinkse already on board the risk of not landing Abreu or Dunn are diminished. Of course if Dunn or Abreu are added I'd like to see Braun moved to RF.
  4. Keith Law may not like the move, because he feels its the only significant move the crew will do this off-season. Do to budget constraints
  5. Buchholz lost some luster after his control meltdown last year. Ellsbury had an average year & didn't breakout as a star performer. I feel Hardy is > Ellsbury or Buchholz. Grabbing one of them for an All-Star SS doesn't make sense. Adding Declarmen in either scenario is wishful thinking after looking at his last two years, but the trade creates a hole at SS asking for more is reasonable.
  6. JJ Hardy, Mike Cameron for Jacob Ellsbury, Clay Buchholz, & Manny Declarmen. or JJ Hardy, Cameron for Ellsbury, Buchholz, Declarmen, Lugo + 6 million over 2 yrs.
  7. All the moves have been salary dumps to get Bradley. In the NL he'll get 400 AB's max. They really can't add Peavy until ownership is settled they are maxed out on payroll.
  8. Perez will cost the brewers a first rd pick. So that added with his salary would be mighty expensive. I'd wait until after mid-January to address starting pitching needs. Garland, Penny, etc etc could be this classes version of Kyle Lohse.
  9. If he has to play in the field everyday he'll get 300 AB's. Way to brittle without the DH option to reduce his wear & tear
  10. I've read Wood is seeking 3 yrs 36 million.
  11. Chicago Tribune says Wood is moving on. http://www.chicagobreakin...-wood-and-cubs-split.html
  12. Willingham, Olsen, & Jacobs are all easily replaced by the fish.
  13. CBSSports.com is reporting that the Rockies are acquiring Street with the intention of moving him to a third team. It makes one wonder if they're having significant financial troubles. I wonder what the Rocks would want for Street. Pitching I would guess.
  14. Melky is kind of a poor mans David DeJesus. I'd do Hall & Cameron for Melky, Kennedy, & pitching prospect.
  15. I think Todd Coffey is another nice in house option to close. He's always had ability & pitched very well coming over from Cinncy
  16. Only Suppan & Bush have gone over 180 inngs in a year. Villy & McClung haven't shown they are league average starting pitchers yet. Yo & Parra giving 180 + inngs is questionable as well.
  17. Isn't Vazquez a fly ball pitcher? If the crew were able to add Vazquez. I'd still go after another Free agent arm.
  18. Also a deal involving him wouldn't have Prince, JJ, Escobar etc etc name in it.
  19. Ozzie & Javier have evidently had quite the falling out. But I doubt Williams just gives him away. I'd think Hall would have some interest to them. Williams has been quoted as wanting the team to improve its athleticism.
  20. CWS obviously want him gone. I'm thinking two prospects + salary relief (variable depending on quality of prospects) and/or Bill Hall.
  21. Outside of CC I can't see spending big bucks on the available pitchers The guys I'd target in Free Agency Brad Penny (if dodgers decline option) Freddy Garcia Randy Wolf Alan Embree Chan Ho Park Bartlo Colon Horacio Ramirez
  22. Cameron option rumor CC related. Atlanta reporter talks of 4 yr 100 million dollar potential offer by brewers. http://www.mlbtraderumors...8/10/cc-sabathia-rum.html
  23. Would be an interesting target.
  24. Could always go the Mets route with Jose Reyes. Originally he started at 2B while Kaz Matusi played SS. I'd trade Prince for that young SP. He's a pretty one-dimensional player & train Gamel for 1B/OF duty in AAA. Heck give Hall a shot at first if one can't be found at a reasonable price.
